Your signature[edit]

Hi, your signature doesn't display properly for English wikipedia users. Please read WP:SIG#Non-Latin and consider changing to something legible. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:42, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, we're glad to have people who use English as a second language contribute to en:Wikipedia, but please have pity on those of us who do not know how to read Sinhala script. We'd all appreciate it if you wouldn't mind doing something like the user who welcomed you, up above, does with his signature,

You don't need to change your user name, but it would be helpful if we all knew how to refer to you. If you don't like that, you could just do something like this, in your signature:

  • [[User:පසිඳු_කාවින්ද|Some random signature that does not name an existing account]]

We'd really appreciate the favor. ( If you use that second method, you should probably create that "Some random signature..." account, to prevent any other person from taking it as an account name later. ) And when you add categories to en:Wikipedia for si:Wikipedia, would you please leave at least a generic edit summary, like "added category for si:Wikipedia (Sinhala Wikipedia)"? Thanks!  – OhioStandard (talk) 09:54, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Great User Page![edit]

Pasindu! I love your user page so much that I may have to snag some (most) of your great buttons (unless you protest, of course), because curiously, many things that are true about you are also true about me (with the notable exception of the Sri Lankan related points). I have a pretty buttony user page too. Your username is truly bold. Cheers, fellow wikineer! duff 19:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please don't worry, I'm not editing your userpage, just studying the code you used to set up some really useful features, including the defcon status, your online status, and other really groovy tools that I was not even aware existed. You have an impressive grasp of Wikicode for such a brief time as a named user. duff 19:38, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello පසිඳු කාවින්ද. I noticed you, or another editor created a Requests for Adminship page under your name, and I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. Please note that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets an extremely high bar for potential administrator candidates. That being said, I strongly urge you to read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship, Wikipedia:Adminship is not for new users, and Wikipedia:Not now, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that request and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what the Siahala script is for my yet-to-be-born son's name, McKenzie Hunter Edwards, as I'm looking to get it tattooed on my arm shortly after his birth (My other child's name is tattooed in Chinese). Your submission at Articles for creation[edit]

You recently made a submission to Articles for Creation. Your article has been reviewed and because some issues were found, it could not be accepted in its current form; it is now located at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/PKsoft. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. Feel free to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved. (You can do this by adding the text {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article.) Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! Monty845 02:45, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your article submission PKsoft[edit]

Hello පසිඳු කාවින්ද. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled PKsoft.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/PKsoft}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. -- t numbermaniac c 02:13, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello පසිඳු කාවින්ද. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Pasindu Kumara, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:පසිඳු කාවින්ද. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=පසිඳු කාවින්ද|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Spiderone 09:02, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Pasindu Kumara[edit]

Hello පසිඳු කාවින්ද,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Pasindu Kumara for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, පසිඳු කාවින්ද. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Pasindu Kumara, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Spiderone 09:56, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Facebook Sinhala.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Facebook Sinhala.svg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
