Proposed deletion of Niantic Project[edit]

The article Niantic Project has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Entirely fictional project with no notability whatsoever outside of Ingress (game).

Wing loading[edit]

Hi there! On 1 July you made an edit to Wing loading. Your edit summary included “Power loading determines take off speed”. See your diff. This is incorrect because for most fixed-wing aircraft the minimum take off speed is 1.2 times the stalling speed. As you know, stalling speed is determined by wing loading and maximum lift coefficient. I have fine-tuned some sentences in the lead of the article. See my diff.

You cited the FAA Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, page 11-8. This page says that power loading “is a significant factor in an aircraft’s takeoff and climb capabilities”. Power loading does not influence takeoff speed.

The PHAK, on page 11-8, states: “It is the airplane’s wing loading that determines the landing speed.” It is surprising that the FAA expressed it in these words because wing loading influences both takeoff and landing speeds. The FAA is fully aware that takeoff speed is 1.2 times the stalling speed; and stalling speed is measured with zero thrust. Dolphin (t) 07:06, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied.
