Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Andrews, South Australia has been reverted.
Your edit here to Andrews, South Australia was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.flickr.com/photos/state_library_south_australia/22804427952/in/album-72157632570500903/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 08:26, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Please don't categorise parishes with the additional categories you've been adding. They're already listed in subcategories of the Parishes of New South Wales category, no parish (or town or anything else similar) belongs directly in the Geography of New South Wales category, and parishes aren't localities, so shouldn't be in the localities category. Solar eclipse 2030

[edit]

I see you are adding information about the 2030 solar eclipse to a number of articles. Thanks for this, but can you provide a citation to the data source you are using to predict the precise locations please. I can find a number of maps that show the path of the eclipse over Australia but none with sufficient detail to be as precise as you are being with your edits, so I am guessing you do have a list of points/locations that you are working from. Thanks Kerry (talk) 02:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the presentation of the information on Hungerford, Queensland and hope you might like to use it as an example of a slightly better way to present the information in an article as you press on with this task.

Hungerford will be the site of a [[total solar eclipse]] on 22 July 2028.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2028Jul22Tgoogle.html |title=Total Solar Eclipse of 2028 Jul 22 |publisher=[[NASA]]|accessdate=15 December 2018}}</ref>

which appears as

Hungerford will be the site of a total solar eclipse on 22 July 2028.[1]

  1. ^ "Total Solar Eclipse of 2028 Jul 22". NASA. Retrieved 15 December 2018.

Note that when writing an Australian article, you need to use the Australian date format which is why the text has 22 July 2019 and the accessdate is 15 December 2018. However, the title (written by Americans) should appear as they presented it. I also upgraded citation to use the cite-web format for the citation as that allows the bots that roam Wikipedia fixing various things to be able to correctly interpret the contents of the citation. It also allows us to indicate the publisher (NASA) which adds credibility to the citation (I think most people would regard NASA as a reliable source for information about solar eclipses). Information icon Hello, I'm Chiswick Chap. I noticed that you recently removed content from The Shobies' Story without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not remove cited content and references without very good reason, which you must explain in edit comments and preferably in advance on the article's talk page, to avoid misunderstandings. Many thanks. Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:03, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

List of Libraries of Australia

[edit]

You would be much better to locate galleries of photos WP:NOTGALLERY of mechanics institutes in a separate mechanics institute article and tie them to the places - similar to the way heritage locations are listed in something like: -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_heritage_buildings_in_Vancouver

As they stand in an over-filled and WP:NOTGUIDE issue List of libraries - the usage in the list is close to be validly removed, however if you had the format of the heritage buildings - as a separate article, more chance of survival and capacity to have more detail included. JarrahTree 06:57, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea why you insist on being an IP - getting a username helps - but https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mechanics%27_Institutes&curid=366218&action=history was a bad call - those sorts of lists always get too big -

much better to follow an Australian - even state level set of lists, than to go add to already large items JarrahTree 07:16, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Kasterberous has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fictional planet. No evidence of notability. BEFORE fails to find any in-depth coverage outside primary sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Conflation with the city of Hama in Syria

[edit]

May I please refer to the section "Titular bishopric of the Roman Church" in the wiki page about Epiphania (Cilicia). I think that the bishops listed were actually bishops of Hama in Syria, which is however known as "Epiphania" in ecclesiastical documents. They could not have been bishops of Epiphania in Turkey, because by that time this ancient Turkish city was already in ruins. Even in the References section, the source "http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/diocese/d2e34.html" that you have included actually refers to the Syrian city, not to the ancient Turkish one.
