Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Joint Commission, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. TJH2018talk 18:47, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To the editor of joint commission page.

Hi.

I am wondering about your recent deletes of my joint commission criticisms. I cited peer reviewed articles. It is unclear why you decide this was not a good enough source. Please explain further.

Lucas, Charles E., Angie L. Vlahos, and Anna M. Ledgerwood. "Kindness kills: the negative impact of pain as the fifth vital sign." Journal of the American College of Surgeons 205.1 (2007): 101-107.

Journal of American College of Surgeons not verifiable? You are kidding right? Try this link.

http://www.journalacs.org

Here is a link to the article I referenced. http://www.journalacs.org/article/S1072-7515(07)00152-4/abstract

How about this reference?

The efficacy and safety of pain management before and after implementation of hospital-wide pain management standards: is patient safety compromised by treatment based solely on numerical pain ratings?." Anesthesia & Analgesia 101.2 (2005): 474-480

I use this reputable journal every day in my practice, as do 100% of anesthesiologists practicing today. To claim it isn't a verifiable source is very strange.

Here is a direct link to the article I reference. http://journals.lww.com/anesthesia-analgesia/Abstract/2005/08000/The_Efficacy_and_Safety_of_Pain_Management_Before.32.aspx

Please respond with a very detailed explanation why you feel these sources are not verifiable.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how to do this talk - page stuff. I hope this message gets to you.
