Request reason:

I can't edit because my IP is affected by a week-long blog range block. Bishonen has protected the article involved, MMR vaccine controversy, for six months, so what further preventative purpose does this block serve? It seems punitive to me: indeed, it is punishing me and hundreds of other editors, only one of whom perpetrated the vandalism, and none of us can edit that article now anyway.

You are editing now, right? This is you, I believe. I saw this yesterday and understand that you are a regular IP contributor. I did check the range and saw that there aren't so many blocked that shouldn't be. Approximately a dozen unique devices edited as anons in the last two weeks but once you subtract those that aren't vandals or otherwise abusive, the number reduced to three. The other two only did minor edits and so that leaves you. I agree that you aren't the person for whom the block was intended. If you had an account then I could consider IPBE but that isn't an option for anons. Assuming that you are editing, this may be closed.
