June 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Scotty McCreery, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. Jasper Deng (talk) 17:26, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. PTJoshua (talk) 17:30, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Scotty McCreery. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Jasper Deng (talk) 17:31, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons. Thank you. Jasper Deng (talk) 17:32, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles or any other Wikipedia page. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Explanation[edit]

What you seem to be running into is our biographies of living persons policy - everything you put on the pages of living people must be very reliably sourced, even their religion.Jasper Deng (talk) 17:26, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: thanks[edit]

You have new message/s Hello. You have a new message at Mato#thanks's talk page.

A pointer[edit]

Hi -- I have explained at Talk:Scotty McCreery#Religion why your edits are being reverted. If you feel the points I made are wrong, would you please explain there the reason why? Simply continuing to revert without explanation won't accomplish anything except eventually to get your account blocked from editing. I agree with you completely that Scotty's religion is important enough to discuss in the article; what people disagree with is the way you are inserting the information, which gives the impression that Scotty does mainly Christian music, which is not true.
