Information icon Hello, I'm Otuọcha. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Tai folk religion, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Otuọcha (talk) 09:12, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Otuọcha i think you reverted in hurry I've added Butler, Edward P. (2022) as a reference which you reverted 2409:4065:CB1:73E2:0:0:624B:DD04 (talk) 09:20, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I didn't revert your citation. I reverted an uncited edit you made. Well, I like to he civil as I saw your improvement and willingness to building a better Encyclopedia. Keep up and look at your welcome page. All the best! Otuọcha (talk) 09:26, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Otuọcha in this revert you removed Butler 2022 2409:4065:CB1:73E2:0:0:624B:DD04 (talk) 09:26, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Otuọcha also regarding this revert I told in this revision that I was moving the contents of ancestor worship to the deities section. I've been a major contributor to this page and have added lots of content with lots of references you can check in the history section. I hope you'll not misunderstood my contribution with Vandalism thankyou ❤️.
References I've added previously are:- Terwiel, B.J. (1981), Tun, Than (1959), Gogoi, Shrutashwinee (2011) and Placzek, Kanittanan, James, Wilaiwan (1986). 2409:4065:CB1:73E2:0:0:624B:DD04 (talk) 09:35, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I love it seeing editors willing of learning more. Well, in rollback or reversion, adding unsourced or poorly cited words are considered vandalism. So, you never referenced the section and so was reverted to place citations as the warn reason had been. Otuọcha (talk) 09:39, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(passing-by user) @Otuọcha: I notice your grasp of English is not perfect, but you should know that "adding unsourced or poorly cited words", when done in good faith, is NEVER considered vandalism.

No man is a master of any language. Mistakes must be done. I already presumed this editor as a newcomer, I had to have patient with certain edits since the editor is trying to help per WP: GOODFAITH but since it was about a notable topic, a reviewer may remove the word/–ings with reminder of vandalism so for the editor to add citation. In certain cases, some editor do not even make researches before adding maybe their intellectual self while some copy from online sources (some not even reliable) directly into the article. Since humans do make mistakes, we consider to keep the Encyclopedia accurate always. Do you know whether someone was at that moment reading Enwiki?. Otuọcha (talk) 10:04, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Otuọcha: Sure, but the wording is important, because repeatedly accusing people of something (in this case of vandalism) without evidence is considered casting aspersions, which is a violation of the personal attack policy. So while it might sound like it's just a word thing (which is why I noted your grasp of English) it isn't, it's about being civil by not using a word that has very specific meaning on Wikipedia outside of it's intended use.

I am beginning to see this Ad hominem to repetitive warning which is against WP:Casting aspersions. Adding unsourced words to articles without citation is non accusation of vandalism. It is clear vandalism and because of WP: CIVILITY, I consider all editor to be responsive to correction and willing to teach others. The overall reversion was removing unsourced statement from the article. You have a different view of WP: PERSONAL ATTACK since none of the criteria falls under non vandalism. An editor civilly warns another as reminder or correction to stop or improve. Thus, it saving the articles image and content. And best is removing unsourced claims per one who knows less or none of the topic (as other reader may see too). I will advise you to stop pinging. All the best! Otuọcha (talk) 10:23, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Otuọcha: I will ping you one last time then, because I hope you will listen to what we are telling you before someone drags you to the drama boards, in WP:PERSONAL ATTACK it says: "Accusations about personal behavior that lack evidence. Serious accusations require serious evidence, usually in the form of diffs and links.".
Accusing someone of vandalism, which is defined as "editing (or other behavior) deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose", is a serious accusation – because when you say to someone that they are committing vandalism, what you are claiming is that they are doing deliberate harm to Wikipedia, that their actions are in bad faith.
Please read the last item of the following section of the policy page on vandalism(WP:NORESVAND), ironically it even links to Ad hominem when you click "personal attacks".
Also sorry IP who owns this talk page, for the notifications I've caused you.

Best! That was entire rollback as to save other pages. I had wanted to manually revert but they were quite many looking non constructive. Otuọcha (talk) 09:36, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Otuọcha regarding this edit I was just moving the Ancestor Worship to Deities section didn't added or removed any content to add new references; the section was written by previous editors before. I would like to expand that part but your constant reverts were breaking the flow. I hope you'll consider manual checking. Thankyou 2409:4065:CB1:73E2:0:0:624B:DD04 (talk) 09:46, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then you can do that with cited references/source that meets WP: RS. Otuọcha (talk) 10:24, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
