Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Help desk, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Help me![edit]

First of all I`m very confused about this..I am a layperson and have no desire whatsoever to edit articles as I know I wouldn`t be very good at it...however I do make suggestions from time to time in talk..some of my suggestions have been deleted some not..initially I had made some comments on the Donald Trump article that could be construed as inappropriate although even then the comments were written in good faith..since then I have been meticulous about only making comments that seem appropriate. Some of these comments have been deleted with no word as to why or who did it..there is a lot of back and forth in this article for obvious reasons with virtually everyone editing this article having an agenda which is why I`m not going to edit it..it would be unethical although it doesn`t seem to be stopping anyone else.

The comments I`m talking about were made relatively recently and were written in good faith even though the subject here is very volitable I`ve been making a reasonable effort to play by the rules..I cannot cite them at this point as I don`t really understand how Wikipedia works..with regard to this article there seems to be a lot of agenda driven editing both in the article and the talk page..I have never once vandalized or deleted anyone else's editing although some of my comments have been mysteriously disappeared without a trace..the personal jabs are everywhere here including a few of my own which I have refrained from since.

Nothing I have said here could be taken as anymore controversial then anyone else editing this page as I see it..all I want to know is why I`ve been singled out and who is doing it..that`s about all the information I can give you..thanks. 2600:1702:2340:9470:B539:BDA0:BD88:3ABA (talk) 20:02, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also I just got into the edit conflict thing..no clue what to do now..don`t try to help me too much as it will only confuse me further..I just want to know who is deleting my posts and why..thanks 2600:1702:2340:9470:B539:BDA0:BD88:3ABA (talk) 20:06, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First, about the "edit conflict" - that just means that someone else was trying to edit a page at the same time you were. If you don't want to get involved in the technicalities of how to fix it, just consider it a signal that you have to start over with your edit, now editing against the new version of the page. If it happens a lot, you're trying to edit very active pages and it might be better to just back off of those.
Second, about your talk page comments being deleted - unless they were made using a different IPV6 address - something that is all too possible - all of your comments still appear to be present. So nobody is deleting your posts.
However, the sort of suggestions you have been making on talk pages fall more into the category of treating them as general discussion forums rather than places focused on the task of improving the related encyclopedia page. If you make sure you anchor your suggestions in Wikipedia policies and provide solid references for your suggested changes, you will find you have more traction for your contributions. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:26, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It will be less confusing if you WP:Create an account, then your contributions can be followed more easily, though there is no obligation to do this. Your opinions on the talk page of Donald Trump are still there under a different IP address. Dbfirs 20:35, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
