Hi,

Thank you for your anti-vandal efforts. However in order to block 75.65.150.21 they must be given a final warning. Only if they continue vandalizing, after the warning, they can be blocked. Thanks again. Dr.K. (talk) 02:59, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your kind reply. I can reciprocate and say that it is indeed very encouraging to meet users like you who care about Wikipedia and want to help. I am very pleased to have met you. Thanks again and take care. Dr.K. (talk) 03:16, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Sorry I should have known better. I was showing a friend how to edit, and I chose KnowledgeOfSelf because I didn't think he'd mind, especially if I reverted myself. 74.133.9.95 03:27, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hi there! Welcome back, and thanks for your help with removing unhelpful edits! They really are appreciated, and you have the best of intentions, I have no doubt. However, please consider using a less antagonistic edit summary, such as, "removing unhelpful edits" or something similar. I hope you understand! Thanks, ArielGold 03:31, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If this is an IP address, and it is shared by multiple users, ignore this warning if you did not make any unconstructive edits. Master of Puppets Care to share? 03:48, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, that's peculiar... my history for that article shows you being the last editor. Weird. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Master of Puppets Care to share? 03:57, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I swear, I didn't do it!
Note that the last revision for that article is yours from 21:24, and it I took that screenshot at around 3:55. I personally reverted it too. For some reason it won't revert. That's what I mean. Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:04, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I figured that was it. However, I should get a failure message from the script I used to revert your edit, and I didn't. I'll go talk to the guy. Sorry again for the inconvenience! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:35, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Placing notices[edit]

Heya :) Would you please be sure to use the standard level of template, for instance, a first notice should not threaten a block, as that isn't assuming good faith, so it is a good idea to use {{subst:uw-test1}} to give them the link to sandbox, etc., and not to seem too unfriendly to newcomers. Thanks! ArielGold 05:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heath Ledger[edit]

Nope, totally valid. A Google news search turns up a whole bunch of reliable sources (New York Times, etc.) saying he's dead. Thanks for the heads-up. Keilana|Parlez ici 21:59, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, when you make AIV reports you must put a short explanation of why you think editors should be blocked. Please read : Wikipedia:Guide to administrator intervention against vandalism -- Alexf42 15:23, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I try to leave brief summaries, but sometimes I get lazy. It's sad I know! 74.133.9.95 (talk) 17:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh![edit]

You ruined my beautiful edit summary, I was going to say "revert while it is true, you must provide a source and make sure that the content is encyclopedic in nature" on this revert! Although your summary was nice too! ;) 74.133.9.95 (talk) 15:38, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh man, I'm sorry... hey do you want me to restore to his version so you can write that? :-D ScarianCall me Pat 15:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, no. It is quite alright. No need to get overly exorbitant :D. I'll just have to be quicker next time! BTW, you can just reply here, whenever I leave a message, I'm pretty diligent about checking back for replies. I'd like to keep my talk page clean so that the next person assigned this IP won't be like what the heck? From all the messages. Though I've had this address for a few months now. Perhaps it's static and I didn't know it? 74.133.9.95 (talk) 15:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, you're an experienced user... I'm assuming, like all of the experienced anons out there, you've spurned an account for good old fashioned anonymity? :-) - Do you not have an account? ScarianCall me Pat 15:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You assume correctly! I had an account once, (I suppose technically speaking I *still* have an account, I just haven't used it in a while.) but I prefer editing from an IP for a few reasons, namely you get ignored more often, which means less drama, and less attachment to awesome editors, which makes it easier to take breaks and walk away. Only thing I miss is the ability to create pages. :D 74.133.9.95 (talk) 17:21, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

74.133.9.95[edit]

Hello 74.133.9.95, thanks for the report. I intend to patrol AIV for a little while before logging out for today. Thanks! Spellcast (talk) 15:49, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done[edit]

Created it, please ask if you need any help. :D Keilana|Parlez ici 17:33, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I'd suggest that you make an account, here's why. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 17:47, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd also give you rollback, it's really helpful in vandalfighting. Keilana|Parlez ici 17:48, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh you are the second admin who has told me that. And I truly appreciate it, but I"m not interested in having a named account anymore. As documented on Alison's talk page, Gogo Dodo's talk page, and Scarian's talk page. ;) 74.133.9.95 (talk) 17:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, just ask if you need a page created or something admin-y done. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 17:57, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you should have reverted it, the guy says that that was his old IP. Just my 2 cents. Keilana|Parlez ici 00:40, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Signature[edit]

And what's wrong with it!? In all seriousness though, you've been doing great work here - I came to your talk page to encourage you to make an account but my laptop crashed, so I'm here now - would you consider it? Ryan Postlethwaite 00:38, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well it's kinda pointy though I couldn't tell you what exactly it is the you are making a point of. :) I had an account once, I don't wish to register a new one, or use my old one anymore. This IP is static I'm fairly sure, it is as good as a named account IMO. (Without the benefits of course!) Fuller documentation is located here, here, and finally here. I appreciate the sentiments nonetheless though. 74.133.9.95 (talk) 00:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thanks for helping out on wikipedia, but one thing I noticed, since I didn't see my revision come through. You deleted the Talk:CATS page, including my speedy deletion notice. This is not how it works, to delete a page. If you want to delete something, then you post a proposal for a deletion, and not just empty the page. Thanks Amelie poulain (talk) 18:57, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for your message. I'm well aware of how it works, but since it was in the talk space and not the article space, they don't always meet eye to eye. I don't think G8 really applied there, and {{db-nonsense}} didn't either. A page blanking was perfectly acceptable IMO. Cheers. 74.133.9.95 (talk) 19:00, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Account -[edit]

What was your username? :-) ScarianCall me Pat 22:35, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, I'd rather not say, as that would ruin the the whole "anon" thing. ;) 74.133.9.95 (talk) 23:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the barnstar...accounts make vandal-whacking vastly easier. ;) Keilana|Parlez ici 03:33, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are most welcome, and I dare say you are correct. But alas my beliefs are hard to shake, and not even the power of a divine king could sway me. A few shots of tequila may do the trick though. ;) 74.133.9.95 (talk) 03:36, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, I understand. The problem with editing with an IP is that anyone can trace it, making having an account more anonymous, in my opinion. I'll stop trying to convince you now; do you have a monobook.js that you can change? I'm not sure how it works for IPs, but you could possibly install User:Lupin's excellent popups and vandalfighting tool. It may work, and both are excellent, useful tools. Keilana|Parlez ici 03:42, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but it doesn't much bother me that someone could trace the address. It's not wholly about remaining anonymous, rather it's about taking the benefits that come with being an "anon". Those being that few editors really care about you or your actions, that it is soooo much easier to take a break, and because less people care, you care less and that equals less attachment. Kind of a macabre attitude but it does work for me! Granted you have to take the drawbacks of being an anon. Most editors are distrustful of you, editing is slower, no tools, no real rights other than the ability to edit. (Which is what really matters!)
As to monobooks for anons, I didn't think it possible since most ip address would be shared or dynamic, I don't think the devs would have found it viable to bother making that a feature. I could be wrong on that to be sure. 74.133.9.95 (talk) 03:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Only problem is, your IP will eventually change. :( It may be possible to find a monobook for you, and I understand completely your reasons for going anon. You're doing great, and I hope you stick around. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 02:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anons do have a monobook, unfortunately adding an anti-vandalism tool won't work :-( - We tried installing TW on Libsey's monobook but it didn't work. Never mind. Thank you very much for your note 74.133X - sorry I wasn't there to restore it myself. Oh and can you add me to your helpful list of people :-D - Take care my friend and thanks again! Reverting Pilus[edit]

Thank you for reverting the vandalism to Pilus. However, you reverted only one of three vandal edits by the previous editor. The result was that some vandalism was left over, which I had to clean up (see article history).

Registered users can use the rollback tool to deal with this sort of problem automatically. Just try to be aware that it's a potential problem. Checking page history after reverting is a good idea. Shalom (HelloPeace) 18:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

Hi there - I'm sorry about that. I had seen that there had been multiple vandalisms by multiple IP users, and I was unsure to which edit I should revert - part of me knew I was probably getting the wrong one, and so it turned out. Thank you for being diligent enough to notice! Bobo. 01:33, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

You are good user[edit]

Why not create an account and join wikipedia? In times i find that even good edits by IP address get reverted but those by established users are not. Just a suggestion. Feel free to edit as an ip address if you wish to continue as you do now. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 01:47, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments, but I would much rather edit from this IP address. I have no interest in a named account. 74.133.9.95 (talk) 01:51, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
