Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Materialscientist (talk) 23:28, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Again, could you please leave edit summaries rather than simply reverting. Adding reliable sources is something you should also consider doing. Thank you. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:39, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil language[edit]

Please remove the Mauritian flag and get agreement on the talk page before you restore it. Given that two editors have reverted you there is clearly disagreement about this and continuing to add it in is edit warring, and I will block you if you continue to do this. Indian Americans[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Thegreyanomaly. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Indian Americans have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.

Hello, I noticed your edit to Indian Americans. Please note that the languages listed in the infobox are meant to languages spoken widely by Indian Americans (not Indians globally). Based on the sources we have available, Hindi, Gujarati, and Punjabi are the three most prominent non-English languages spoken by Indians Americans, and thus those are listed in the box. Based on our sources (as cited in the box and clearly noted), Telegu is not a commonly spoken Indian American language, and thus it does not belong in the box. Please do not repeat your edit. Thanks! Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Hindi, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:04, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Hindi, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you.
