Speedy deletion of NTV Plus Sport

RE: Flag of Lebanon

Hi there -

I've seen it both ways, and the CIA World Factbook is generally considered to be an accurate source for information on countries (it's used on virtually every country's article as a source for a variety of information). Could you link me to the Lebanese Government site that you mentioned, please? I'd like to check that out before I revert it, and cannot seem to find a website belonging to the Government of Lebanon on Google. Thanks, Mnmazur (talk)

Actually, I found the website of the State Council of Lebanon - http://www.statecouncil.gov.lb/main.htm - and it uses the same shade of red my version of the flag uses (albeit not in the flag), and the website of the President uses the colors in the coat of arms (http://www.presidency.gov.lb/default.aspx). Several issues

Right, to save us both some time, here are some issues that need resolving. First of all, please remove the picture at the top right of this page- it's blocking the edit link, and makes it difficult for people to contact you. Secondly, you should not be using non-free content on your userpage, per the non-free content criteria. I will remove those images in a second. Now, concerning the three plane images above, taking images from another website and just assuming that they are released under the GFDL is very problematic, and very damaging to the project. If they are not released under that license (as I suspect they are not) they can be used only within the strict confines of the non-free content criteria. Do you believe that the images are free, or that there use complies with the NFCC, or should I just delete them now? J Milburn (talk) 19:44, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Unless you have reason to believe otherwise, we have to assume that the images are non-free, which means they can only be used within the strict confines of our non-free content guidelines and our non-free content criteria. These images are of aircraft, and a free image of the same aircraft could easily be created. Therefore, they fail non-free content criterion 1, and so cannot be used at all. Sorry. Can I please ask you only to upload non-free images with fair use rationales for use in articles and to make sure you don't use them on your userpage? That image may not be used. I cannot see any reason to believe it has been released into the public domain or under a free license (unless we have reason to believe an image is free, it must be considered non-free) and, as the building is still standing, it does not meet our non-free content criteria, as it could easily be replaced by another image. Once again, learn some English grammar. In any event, "its" should be used where you use "it's" ("it is"). But "she" is correct there as well. Here's what it says,

Hi, I noticed that you capitalized the L in "République Libanaise" for a second time, after my revert. You may have missed my explanation, so I thought I'd drop you a note. In French, "libanaise" is not capitalized. If you look at the French Wikipedia article on Lebanon, you'll see that both the body of the article and the infobox list the name using the lowercase "République libanaise"; this is per French grammar, which differs from English on capitalization. ← George ^[talk] 21:22, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Checkuser may be a good idea, but reviewing the contribs of the two accounts, I see almost no topical overlap, and some edits where the two accounts were active at the exact same time; which would be difficult. Ahmedfarhat, for example, made edits on Dec 20th at 11:15 and 11:18, while A.h. king made one at 11:17. I suppose he could be rapidly logging in and out, but something about this doesn't feel like a sock situation. --Jayron32 05:29, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
