Welcome!

Hello, Aajim, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Gamma kappa phi, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gamma kappa phi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 05:41, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page is still a copyright violation. User:Aajim/Gamma Kappa Phi (Kappans) Fraternity and Sorority is also tagged for speedy deletion as a copyright violation. MER-C 10:35, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello and welcome! I'm a bot created by another editor. I wanted to let you know that I removed a link that you recently added to the page Gamma kappa phi here. I did this because http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=204924959534541&set=a.153619607998410.35428.100000511152832&type=3&theater is probably inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Instead of linking to an external image, you can find images already available or use the upload wizard if you'd like to add new free content.

Even though Wikipedia is strict about having appropriate links, we really appreciate your help. If I made a mistake, feel free to undo my edit. If you have any questions, you can ask at the Help desk. --XLinkBot (talk) 07:39, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Ownership of articles before you say such things again. — Jean Calleo (talk) 04:23, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To that end, if you think the material should be included in the article, feel free to explain why at Talk:Gamma kappa phi. Be prepared to explain how including it complies with guidelines like WP:Verifiability. —C.Fred (talk) 04:43, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Hello Aajim. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Gamma kappa phi, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to you, your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Since you've asserted to be the photographer of File:Gamma Kappa Phi Founders.png, a 1962 picture of the founders of the organization, it's pretty clear that you have a connection to it. —C.Fred (talk) 00:52, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Mount Tapulao, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Mount Tapuao. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:24, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Mount Tapuao

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Mount Tapuao. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Mount Tapulao. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Mount Tapulao - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 21:34, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Kappans seal-evolution.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kappans seal-evolution.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Image description: The image is created by myself which digitally enhanced based on old pictures of the seal evolution of the Gamma Kappa Phi. Being a member and organizer of this organization I testify that this an original image from my own source and has no copyright from others. Hopefully, the image is to be reinstated. Thanks

A few notes:

1. Please do not insert copyright infringing material - this is a serious issue on Wikipedia. You entered this block of text twice (on creating, and against now) - [1]. You can use what is written in a source - but you need to paraphrase. Note that the passage in question is a bit too glowing / POVish - and not in neutral tone - when paraphrasing you should reduce the amount of puffery.

2. Please do not use minor tags for rather big edits, such as - diff. This is not a WP:MINOR edit bay any means.

3. Please read up on how to format references - e.g. Help:Referencing for beginners. You are using bare urls - which is not a good way to cite. Thanks!Icewhiz (talk) 08:40, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I removed the edits you made to Gamma Kappa Phi because they are taken word-for-word from the fraternity's website. Thus, they are copyright violations; there is no fair-use justification for that large a block of text taken from their website.

Further, I tagged the image you uploaded to Commons as a copyright violation, since you are trying to pass of an image that the fraternity holds an all-rights-reserved license for as your own work. —C.Fred (talk) 19:27, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About the Gamma Kappa Phi seal

[edit]

In this recent edit to Gamma Kappa Phi, the seal is under copyright protection. However, the image of the seal in the article (File:Kappans-300x300.jpg) is under a free license noting it as your own work. So, which is the case? Is the image actually under a free license, or did you violate the fraternity's copyright when you uploaded the seal and claimed it as your own work? —C.Fred (talk) 14:50, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gamma Kappa Phi members...

[edit]

I appreciate that you are adding Gamma Kappa Phi members to Gamma Kappa Phi. However all of the references that I have viewed show why the person is notable, but doesn't show that the person is an alumnus of Gamma Kappa Phi (as opposed to being an alumnus of Tau Gamma Phi, for example). Without a reference that shows this, the people should not be included on the Gamma Kappa Phi page. I am going through the page and deleting those where the information is not available. The remainder of the article has significant issues of references from Reliable sources as well.Naraht (talk) 15:27, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
