PD papers behind paywalls[edit]

Just saw your DML query, there are a lot of PD papers on JSTOR. But remember tyhat the PD-1923 only goes for papers published in the US. If it is a UK paper, for example, the authors have to have died more than 70 years ago. FunkMonk (talk) 19:29, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Abyssal, I was wondering whether you were planning to return to this nomination, now that the nominator has responded to your review. If not, please let me know, and I'll look for a new reviewer. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:22, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 26[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of pathological dinosaur specimens, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sue. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Natural history museums[edit]

Hello, I am removing the category Paleontology in ... for the natural history museums categories in the US because most of these museums are only tangentially focused on paleontology, but instead focus on animals, plants, geology and the environment. Rather than putting the entire category for each state as a subset of Paleontology in that state, I am linking each museum individually, after looking at the article and website for the museum. I believe this is more appropriate. I am also looking at Category:Paleontological sites of North America and will add articles to the appropriate state paleontology categories.

Your articles on paleontology for each state seem well written and researched, so thanks for such great work. Jllm06 (talk) 01:41, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recent articles created[edit]

I have to advise you to stop what you're doing for a moment please. It seems that many of the new articles you're creating are the results of cut and paste moves into the main article space. A cut and paste move is undesirable because it erases the edit history of an article. Additionally, it appears that some or all of the new pages you are creating lack a single citation. I would advise you to stop creating articles for a while and in the future use the Articles for Creation process to avoid having any of your articles deleted. Pishcal 19:31, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Topic sentences[edit]

I think you should try to rewrite the opening sentences of the various "Paleontology in Foo" articles you recently have created. You would not start an article about Pope Francis by saying "Pope Francis refers to the Pope named Francis." We want to write about what the topic is, not what it refers to; and we should do so in a way that adds information rather than just restating the title of the article. See WP:MOSLEDE for more info. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:17, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Timelines[edit]

I hope you have time to fix the several articles about timeslines as they are full of links to disambiguation pages. Like Timeline of ceratopsian research (40x) and many others.

Let me introduce you to Wikipedia:WPCleaner, a very handy tool for finding and solving links to disambiguation pages. The Banner talk 09:24, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. Please correct the disambiguation links in these pages before you create any new pages. It is unlikely that any other editor will be able to get to these in the near future, or to know what you intended by most of these links. bd2412 T 15:08, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

xxxx in paleontology Changes[edit]

I see you are majorly changing the structuring of the xxxx in paleontology pages. I am concerned as you seem to just be adding extra headings in with no indication that you will be expanding on them. Also if you look at 2014 in paleontology and other recent years, the lists are already much to massive to have all of the topics you seem to be wanting to add! I would suggest running the changes by WP:Paleo and WP: biology first.--Kevmin § 15:43, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Where specifically? I dont remember seeing a discussion of it at either spot. I'm still not seeing a rectification of the problem I noted about the expansion and the already massive 201x in paleontology articles.
Edit, found it. Im not convinced one reply from Funkmonk constitutes well received, I suggest reopening the discussion and pinging the active members of Paleo Dino and the recent contributors to the xxxx in paleo articles themselves to see what opinion actually is. I personally am not in favor of the info being shoehorned into the existing article structure. --Kevmin § 18:29, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
