Hi[edit]

Hi everyone. I'm just checking things out.

Hi, I saw your comment on the citizenship article. What's happened is that there have been battles on it about what's worthy -- serious chunks got deleted by being considered as "original research" and "not neutral" -- I initially wrote it on Wikipedia, but then I left, and when I was gone, it got stripped down. I moved the good article, with new stuff, to a "knol" here: History of citizenship in the United States. I think it's an interesting subject, but perhaps it is too contentious for WP, so if people want to delete the WP version, so be it. The good stuff is moving to knols anyway, and sooner or later, the smart readers will follow.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 22:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's much better, but it's long. The current wiki version skips the first few centuries and mainly talks about various people's views. What I saw the title I thought it'd talk about how one becomes a citizen and how rules changed over time. That's one problem, defining the scope of the article as there are many aspects to this. Agreed, good points. May I offer a few tips -- write something on your user page here then save it; that way your name won't light up red every time you do an edit, and your contributions are more likely to stick. Second, use colons to indent your comments (see above). If you need advice or tips, let me know.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 23:35, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add that link, I just reformatted it. AdamNewcomb (talk) 00:27, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
