File permission problem with File:Michael-Brown-Film-Director.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Michael-Brown-Film-Director.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 16:15, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:HauntedStateTheatreOfShadowsTheatricalPoster.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:HauntedStateTheatreOfShadowsTheatricalPoster.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 17:03, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roller Life requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://m.imdb.com/title/tt5990078/plotsummary?ref_=m_tt_ov_pl. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

This was an oversight. We accidently hit enter. We are fixing this now. As you can see from the references this is indeed a real film. - adjinwis 13 September 2017 (UTC)

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:RollerDerbyRollerLifeDocumentary.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RollerDerbyRollerLifeDocumentary.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 22:46, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

September 2017[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Roller Life, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Help me![edit]

I need to delete this file that I uploaded. Here is the file https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/archive/9/92/20180529002220%21Haunted_State_Theatre_of_Shadows_Theatrical_Poster.png It's here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Haunted_State_Theatre_of_Shadows_Theatrical_Poster.png#filehistory It was uploaded in Feb of 2018. There is an photo may not be released under the creative commons, though we aren't sure, we need it removed. Let me know what I need to do. Thank you!

Adjinwis (talk) 16:29, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your first link gives me "file not found". The file page has been properly set up as a non-free image. It's not set as a free image with creative commons license. There is no need to delete it. Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:21, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) I have deleted the older versions of the file and resized the newer one so that it's low-resolution. It is correctly tagged as a non-free file. Wikipedia permits use of non-free files under certain conditions, and this use applies. There doesn't seem to be a reason to delete it, at least not from a copyright point of view. Why else would you need this file removed? Huon (talk) 19:24, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
