Rollback

Hi. I've added the rollback flag to your account. PLease review WP:ROLLBACK and make sure you know when, and when not, to use the tool. Thanks for your hard working countering vandalism. Pedro :  Chat  10:49, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

October 2009

I did give an explanation. It appears to be in a language other than English. --Aiken drum (talk) 21:28, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
My warning message was caused by confusion on which version of the article was current and i was trying to revert the same version you were. The warning message has been removed. Please accept my apologies. Alansohn (talk) 21:51, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

I found seven reliable sources with significant coverage. Joe Chill (talk) 02:22, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

As you had participated in the original RfD for Template:$, you may be interested to know that the deletion has been overturned at deletion review because of a procedural problem, with the redirect being re-listed here.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:11, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your RfA Support

Aiken drum/Archive 1 - Thanks for your participation and support in my recent successful RfA. Your confidence and trust in me is much appreciated. As a new admin I will try hard to keep from wading in too deep over the tops of my waders, nor shall I let the Buffalo intimidate me.--Mike Cline (talk) 09:27, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Sure; thanks for fixing the issue so promptly. Regards, Ironholds (talk) 17:55, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

So-called Copyright notice from SPHE article

Thanks for removing the so-called copyright notice from the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment article. I don't know who did that. King Shadeed 14:31, 21 March 2010.

It was an easy mistake to make. It was identical to Wikipedia in places but as I noted, it was copied from us, not the other way around. That's why it pays to research. Aiken 18:35, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Lionello Cecil

Updated DYK query On March 22, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lionello Cecil, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Materialscientist (talk) 18:02, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

LOL!

I went back into the deletion log re. "Mandy Miller." Marone, what a mess. It was a bunch of semi-literate kiddie-wiki. If you have a legit entry you'd like to add, by all means feel free. I'll make sure the title isn't protected. Have a great weekend! PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:27, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Hmm...I'll go back and look. If there's something in there worth posting, I'll paste it here. PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:36, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Sonofagun, you are absolutely correct. The last bit I deleted was changed by that kid and I wound up blowing off a legit article. Doggone it. I'll fix it in a moment. NICE catch and thanks for bringing it to my attention. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:39, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Glad to help...but it looks as if there's a heck of a lot of copyrighted content going way back in the edit history. If you have a moment, you may want to reword pretty much all of it. See you! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:44, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Nuts...I may have to completely blow it off. The original 2004 edit was straight off of Rottentomatoes.com. I am SO sorry. Problem is, she is more than worth an article. If you're willing to start from scratch, let me know and I'll delete it at this time. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:50, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

That Rottentomatoes site had me concerned...but it's in fact GFDL. I learn something new every day and I've used that site before for my own use. No wonder it hadn't been deleted prior to my mistake in blowing it off. I am SO glad you caught this. PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:01, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

I fixed your concern

RE: Wikipedia:WikiProject Article Rescue Squadron/Newsletter/20100201/Feature I mentioned how important neutrality is, which I planned to do anyway, before it was put up for deletion. thanks for your comments. Okip 19:35, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

PlaneShift deletion

Please review the deletion log of 8 April and in particular the deletion of PlaneShift article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2010_April_8 There is no reason in the world this article cannot stay on wikipedia. Thanks. --79.40.27.216 (talk) 15:01, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, consensus was to delete the article. Please don't canvas for overturn votes. Aiken 15:05, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion: Megan wright

Whilst I agree with you that the Megan wright article is a CSD candidate, I would respectfully suggest that it is more a spam article than one about a real person. Regards -- Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 20:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Hm? Not sure what you mean there, I haven't tagged it, you have. Aiken 20:49, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Is there a reason you are removing my CSD tag from this article besides it supposedly being properly sourced? Because the references given are unquestionably press releases (they identify themselves as such), and in any case make little or no mention of the article subject. --LP talk 21:16, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't believe it meets the criteria for A7. I'm happy to be proven wrong though - you nominate it for AFD. Aiken 21:18, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Quit fucking around

This is inappropriate. Quit it. The bureaucrat hasn't closed an RfA in 4 years and isn't up to community norms. My support was a support whether or not the closing bureaucrat is smart enough to figure it out. -Atmoz (talk) 18:58, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to add you to my list of stupid people on Wikipedia because you clearly don't know what vandalism is.[1] Congrats. -Atmoz (talk) 18:59, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Unconstructive edits such as the ones you are making to the RFA, well over a week after it ended can easily be described as vandalism. Aiken 19:04, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Not to be 3rd man it, but the crat took Atmoz's support and moved it to the oppose section because he misunderstood Atmoz-s joke. The crat did this days after another he crat had closed the RFA. Who's vandaliszing what?--Cube lurker (talk) 19:06, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Calmly, please. calmly. Atmoz version is correct in my view. Agree with Lurker. I've protected the wrong version. Perhaps we can discuss this at WT:RFA. Dlohcierekim 19:10, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

It may well be correct, but bureaucrats should not be reverted as Atmoz did with Cimon Avaro. He didn't even have the courtesy to use an edit summary - just left the default "undid". Aiken 19:12, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
In general you're correct, but WP:IAR is policy for a reason. We don't follow policy to do something that's clearly incorrect just because that's what the ploicy says.--Cube lurker (talk) 19:23, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
I can agree that discussion before reversion is sometimes best. ;) Dlohcierekim 19:24, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Your use of rollback

Rollback should only be used to revert obvious vandalism. The edit you reverted here was certainly not vandalism and you used rollback to continue an edit war. Please be more careful in the future or you'll find yourself without the tool. Regards, Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 21:46, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, my error. I apologized to the user in question. Aiken 22:09, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Hypocritical?

No. I brought the matter to the correct venue for discussion. And how we cannot "get on with our lives" one way or another is beyond me. I acted properly, doing what I thought was correct, and then presenting it for review. Dlohcierekim 23:00, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

You protected the page, then changed it, against the protection policy. That is improper. Aiken 23:30, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Renaming

I saw you wanted to be known at User:Aiken Drum. You could request that name at WP:USURP since it has no edits and hasn't been used in years. MBisanz talk 01:51, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

User:Aiken would be better, but that has two live edits from just last year. I did know about usurping but hadn't got round to it. Aiken 12:55, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Removing Vandalism

Hey Aiken drum,
I saw your recent edits on Cinco de Mayo, and boy that IP was persistent! I just wanted to point something out to you, that you must have done unnoticed. See here You reverted the vandalism... And replaced it with more!? I know it was by accident, I've done it loads of times ;) I just thought I'd help out a fellow user by learning from my mistakes
Limideen 15:55, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

I did notice it, but the IP had already edited the page again. Cheers, Aiken 18:40, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks for your concerns about this article. I am trying to encourage undergraduate students studying accounting scholars as part of a course requirement to endeavour to construct related Wikipedia pages, if one does not already exist, based on the notability of the scholar. For many students, this is their first time around doing something like this. I will hope to clean the page up personally if not addressed by others over the next short while.

Dreadarthur (talk) 14:01, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

I wanted to thank you for participating in my RfA, which succeeded at 134/4/0. I am truly amazed but equally elated by the result and I hope I am able to serve as a good administrator. It was a surreal experience to succeed, and I will strive to meet your expectations.

More specifically, thank you for your strong support. It really means a lot to me that you have confidence in me. I will strive to meet your expectations!

Thanks! ceranthor 00:39, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Bus routes in the North West

Hi. I noticed this comment you made, and totally agree - there should be more coverage of Manchester's buses. So I wrote this. I'd be interested to know what you think: with 21 reliable sources it's almost more notable than the 192! Alzarian16 (talk) 01:23, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

It looks fabulous, well done! They are interesting buses, certainly. Never been on one myself, but as it happens someone I know was travelling to Burnley on the X43 just yesterday. Aiken 11:09, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Strangely enough I've never been on one either - I just happened to find a six-page feature in Buses Yearbook and wrote it based on that. I wasn't expecting to find as many references as I did to be honest! It's strange how few long-distance bus routes have articles when so many local ones do, as you'd think they'd get more coverage by covering more distance and being important to a wider area. Alzarian16 (talk) 12:51, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!

Aiken drum - Thank for your participation and support in my RfA.

I can honestly say that your comments and your trust in me are greatly appreciated.

Please let me know if you ever have any suggestions for me as an editor, or comments based on my admin actions.

Rollback (re: WP:AN)

I could (presumably - I've not actually done anything an admin can do yet) remove rollback from you. However... there are other, CSS, ways to remove it. That way you'd keep the "rights", but it wouldn't clutter up your browser. Just a thought, and if you really do want rid of rollback let me know, and I'll perform my first administrative task on you ;-)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:28, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks but it's cluttering up my watchlist... :( Aiken 22:17, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
