I got the computer with this IP last year, and I don't think teaneck is gay. I seriously do not know why this is happening.  On Saturday April 30, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fourth Wikipedia edit-a-thon — or, #guggathon — to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Asian Month, and Art+Feminism. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. The WikiCup is over for another year! Our Champion this year is

WikiCup 2019 March newsletter[edit]
And so ends the first round of the competition. Everyone with a positive score moves on to Round 2. With 56 contestants qualifying, each group in Round 2 contains seven contestants, with the two leaders from each group due to qualify for Round 3 as well as the top sixteen remaining contestants.
Our top scorers in Round 1 were:
- L293D, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with ten good articles on submarines for a total of 357 points.
Adam Cuerden, a WikiCup veteran, came next with 274 points, mostly from eight featured pictures, restorations of artwork.
MPJ-DK, a wrestling enthusiast, was in third place with 263 points, garnered from a featured list, five good articles, two DYKs and four GARs.- Usernameunique came next at 243, with a featured article and a good article, both on ancient helmets.
Squeamish Ossifrage was in joint fifth place with 224 points, mostly garnered from bringing the 1937 Fox vault fire to featured article status.
Ed! was also on 224, with an amazing number of good article reviews (56 actually).
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews on 143 good articles, one hundred more than the number of good articles they claimed for, thus making a substantial dent in the review backlog. Well done all!
Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.

Hi Alansohn. In case you did not receive my response on my Talk page, I'll just reinsert the message here on your talk page. If you agree that listing a few stores on a mall article would not classify as 'puffery', then why exactly did do you remove the list of stores then? If you agree that simply having a list of a few stores isn't 'puffery', then I'm glad we both have a mutual understanding. WikiCup 2023 September newsletter[edit]
The fourth round of the competition has finished, with anyone scoring less than 673 points being eliminated. It was a high scoring round with all but one of the contestants who progressed to the final having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were
Epicgenius, with 2173 points topping the scores, gained mainly from a featured article, 38 good articles and 9 DYKs. He was followed by
Sammi Brie, with 1575 points, gained mainly from a featured article, 28 good articles and 50 good article reviews. Close behind was
Thebiguglyalien, with 1535 points mainly gained from a featured article, 15 good articles, 26 good article reviews and lots of bonus points.
Between them during round 4, contestants achieved 12 featured articles, 3 featured lists, 3 featured pictures, 126 good articles, 46 DYK entries, 14 ITN entries, 67 featured article candidate reviews and 147 good article reviews. Congratulations to our eight finalists and all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them and within 24 hours of the end of the final. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! The longest quotes in references ever seen[edit]
What's the deal with that? The quote isn't even necessary at all; one could easily just click on the citation and read it. Or they could click on the article link to the person's bio and read it there. Why the overkill? Fred Zepelin (talk) 23:40, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

This is especially helpful when the cited text is long or dense. A quotation allows readers to immediately identify the applicable portion of the reference." As two sentences seemed too much to bear -- one clearly indicating who is being described and the second associating him with the place -- I have eliminated the first sentence in the spirit of collaborative editing. I more than understand that there are people who just want to point at a reference by name and hope that readers will wade through the source to find the relevant text or assume that the desired source will be available in some other article. I prefer, for the benefit of all future editors and readers, to be explicit in enabling "... readers to immediately identify the applicable portion of the reference" and I treat that as a best practice in all of my editing. - The policy actually says don't put in a quote unless the cited source is "long or dense", which it isn't, and there are several other possible conditions where a quote would be useful, none of which are met. Are you seriously going to fight about keeping in extraneous information that is completely unrelated to the relationship between the subject and the town(s) he's from? I thought that was really odd until I looked at this; I guess you've gotten better in the last 5 years but really, take a step back and look at what you're fighting about here. Sentence one says quotations can be used; there is no possible alternative reading. Sentence three explains why it's useful to use them and the purpose it serves to include them. Sentence two does not say "don't put in a quote unless the cited source is 'long or dense'" as you falsely claim; it says that quotations are "especially helpful" in such cases.This is exactly why I keep full sentences; it prevents con artists from misrepresenting what the source actually says by using sentence fragments in a deliberately deceptive manner.It astonishes me that you are seriously engaging in a battle based on the complete and utter misrepresentation of the guidelines you claim to be enforcing. Ocean County, New Jersey[edit]
That source that you keep on adding to that page is opinionated and it's original research, the same way you reverted all of the edits I made putting the rest of the counties in specific categories saying it was "original research" just because I have it a certain way. I don't know why you keep on removing the sources I cited and re-adding that source on those pages especially if the sources I added were more relevant to the pages. Those pages should have been left alone when I cited the sources to back it up.
I'm not reverting any of your other edits because i'm not trying to start another edit war but i'm just trying to understand why you think like this. MidAtlanticBaby (talk) 07:15, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- MidAtlanticBaby, when you edited the article for Union County, New Jersey here to say that "Union County is unique in that it extends across both North and Central Jersey", you didn;t add a source; you helpfully explained "Those are the boundaries of the municipalities and the regions the municipalities are located in tho … And I know they are". Basing an edit on what you "know" to be true is the very definition of WP:Original Research.There is disagreement about which counties are parts of North Jersey, Central Jersey or South Jersey; and there are opinions that there is no such thing as Central Jersey. In his statement about signing bill S3206 promoting Central Jersey tourism into law in August 2023, Governor Murphy says "The 'Central Jersey' region will be comprised of, at minimum, the counties of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset." The bill does not say that no other counties are included; it says that the four listed counties are "at minimum" part of Central Jersey.My edit for Ocean County, New Jersey, says that it is considered part of Central Jersey but wasn't included as one of the four counties in the 2023 legislation; I used a reliable and verifiable source to say that it was included and another source from the same newspaper saying it wasn't one of the four included "at minimum" by the state; your edit removes all of those details and says that Ocean County is part of the Jersey Shore.I'm not sure what that adds as the article already says in the first sentence that it's part of the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore runs north-south, while the North / Central / South slices run east-west. A county can be both part of the Jersey Shore AND part of North / Central / South Jersey. Election results: In our December 2023 coordinator election, Zippybonzo stepped down as coordinator; we thank them for their service. Incumbents Dhtwiki and Miniapolis were reelected coordinators, and Wracking was newly elected coordinator, to serve through 30 June. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC). Drive: 46 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 32 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 289 articles totaling 626,729 words. Barnstars awarded are here. Blitz: 23 editors signed up for our February Copy Editing Blitz. 18 claimed at least one copy-edit and between them, they copy-edited 100,293 words in 32 articles. Barnstars awarded are here. WikiCup 2024 April newsletter[edit]
We are approaching the end of the 2024 WikiCup's second round, with a little over two weeks remaining. Currently, contestants must score at least 105 points to progress to the third round.
Our current top scorers are as follows:
- Sammi Brie (submissions) with 642 points, mostly from 11 GAs about radio and television;
voorts (submissions) with 530 points, mostly from two FAs (Well he would, wouldn't he? and Cora Agnes Benneson) and three GAs;
Generalissima (submissions) with 523 points, mostly from 11 GAs about coinage and history;
SounderBruce (submissions) with 497 points, mostly from a FA about the 2020 season of the soccer club Seattle Sounders FC and two GAs;
Tamzin (submissions) with 410 points, mostly from a FA about the drink Capri-Sun and three GAs;
Kusma (submissions) with 330 points, mostly from a FA about the English botanist Anna Blackburne and a GA.
Competitors may submit work for the second round until the end of 28 April, and the third round starts 1 May. Remember that only competitors with the top 32 scores will make it through to the third round. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs. As a reminder, competitors are strictly prohibited from gaming Wikipedia policies or processes to receive more points.
