Marking edits as Minor

Please do not mark all of your edits as minor as you've been doing. If you're changing content (here for example) or adding/removing references, you should not be marking the edits as minor. See the WP:MINOR page for more help on this. Also, you need to use reliable, secondary sources for content. The claims of the company can be questionable (especially, with regards to Barq Aviation, relying on a website that hasn't been updated in a while) and should only be used for basic information. If it's challenged, you need to find a secondary source. Ravensfire (talk) 00:04, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Insel Air, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Simón Bolívar International Airport (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Baltia Air Lines has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Premature - business is not operating and may never; coverage by third party sources is limited and cursory

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JohnInDC (talk) 12:13, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Information icon A tag has been placed on Baltia Air Lines requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JohnInDC (talk) 20:52, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

April 2014

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you.

This is not a new issue. Please stop marking your edits in this incorrect fashion. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 19:45, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:University of Illinois Willard Airport Logo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Replaceable fair use File:Idaho Falls Regional Airport Sign Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Idaho Falls Regional Airport Sign Logo.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:25, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Re File:Stewart International Airport Logo.jpg: You could actually have uploaded that to Commons. Since it's just text that does not constitute a complete sentence, it's ineligible for copyright under U.S. law regardless of whether it's used as a logo or not. I will retag as {{PD-ineligible}}

In fact, per the tag I just put on it, if you can redo it as an SVG or (failing that) a PNG or something else lossless, let's get it on Commons. Daniel Case (talk) 00:18, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Palm Springs International Airport

That is a logo, the Wiki is about the airport. While it is a nice logo the wiki is about an Airport in Palm Springs. The ONLY reason to keep the logo rather then use a photo of the airport the story is about would be if this was a promotional page. I too am a bit of an expert on Airports and if I was looking for a logo the airport uses, I would go to that airports page. Now on the other hand I tried and tried to use both photos in the photo box as you will see in John Wayne Airport's page but for what ever reason it would not work. IMHO using a logo of a copyrighted design is outside of fair use, but the admin's here to not challenge it, so I tend to leave them alone. Simply removing that photo, far far better then the other photos on the page is inconsiderate. You were warned in the notice above from @Stefan2: about this, I fixed the problem in what most would consider to be a perfect manner, and you reverted my contribution. I am replacing the photo and if you have a issue with it you need to address the notice's above and below first. --talk→ WPPilot  16:50, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

I fixed the image link for you at Connecticut Wing Civil Air Patrol ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Etamni (talkcontribs) 18:16, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks SineBot, I guess my fingers were faster than my brain, and I didn't sign that. @AirportExpert:, I also wanted to mention that if you need any other help with images, just drop a note on my talk page and I will be glad to be of assistance. Etamni | ✉   18:26, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

CAP eServices

Hi again AirportExpert. Do you happen to have access to the CAP eServices website? If so, could I talk you into updating the stats on Draft:New Hampshire Wing Civil Air Patrol? Anything else you want to do to improve that page (like adding a photo of the wing patch, if one is available) would also be welcome; I'm afraid that if it sits in "draft space" for too long, somebody will come along and nominate it for deletion. I'd like to polish it up and re-submit it. (Yes, I know that writing it and just putting it out there is easy enough to do, but since it was already declined once at AfC, I'd rather help it get approved there and avoid having somebody nominate it for deletion on that basis.) Please use the Sandbox to experiment and practice editing RDTs. (And also follow the link in the heading, for an explanation of how to edit them.) Thank you. Useddenim (talk) 18:14, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

What Useddenim said. It's very distracting to watch so many minor (and incorrect edits) on articles like Saratoga and North Creek Railway. Please also consider using edit summaries. Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 18:52, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Havana Air

The article Havana Air has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

I have done some revision deletion on the earlier versions of this article, where you copied material directly from the corporate website http://www.wintersbros.com/about-us/. Please don't add copyright material to this wiki, not even temporarily for editing. Use an external text editor, or revise the material before you save the page.
