Speedy deletion of Allen J Scott[edit]

A tag has been placed on Allen J Scott requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. as the reviewing admin, I declined to delete it, because the publication of multiple books is important. But see WP:COI. In particular, please read WP:PROF, and WP:FIRST, and see what makes a good article. This needs fleshing out a little. Solway Firth[edit]

Hello,

On several occasions now - I forget how many exactly - I've removed your book from the reference list for the Solway Firth article. In case you didn't know, the reference list is not a place where any and all books on that subject can be placed, but only those specific volumes which have been used while writing the article. As your book is relatively new, and as you have added it yourself, there's no indication that it has been. If you would like to contribute to making the article better, using your own book as a reference, then that would be fantastic, but please refrain from merely adding your own book into the reference list every few weeks, as it does not belong there. As someone who has published a book about the area you'd be well-placed to help with the article about the Solway and, I suspect, many others too. I hope you're interested in helping out, and you're not just planning to use Wikipedia as a platform for self-promotion.
