Your revert on Strawberry Lane, Hammond, Louisiana

I have reverted the Huggle revert you made on Strawberry Lane, Hammond, Louisiana because the creator did not vandalize the article or add any BLP=defaming material. Monument101 (talk · contribs) improved the article and removed the prod. Prods can be removed by anyone, even the page creator (I'm sure you know this already.). Your final warning message to Monument101 is very bitey and may have caused this user to stop making improvements to the article. Could you strike out the final warning you gave to Monument101 and leave a message to the new user explaining that the user did not vandalize Wikipedia? Edit War

Reverting someones contributions more than once is a big no no, especially when it's not vandalism but true and verifiable information. Sometimes a 'gardener' can kill the flowers too. If you saw the film, you would know it's all true, but to revert something that you obviously have no knowledge about is lame.

Wikis Take Manhattan

WHAT Wikis Take Manhattan is a scavenger hunt and free content photography contest aimed at illustrating Wikipedia and StreetsWiki articles covering sites and street features in Manhattan and across the five boroughs of New York City.

Edit on Chetniks

The section that i removed was not ever proven nor did it include documentation. Historians have never accused Draza Mihailovich of mass murder. Removal of Erroneous Information

Personal reference

You, understandably so, wrote me informing why my edit to BYD Auto page was edited back out by Fleetham. I would like to petition an exception based on the "ignore all rules" idea of creating an honest, informative encyclopedia. The information provided is based on personal experience at the car show, observing the vehicles and people's reactions and critiques of the vehicles. I have a couple of pictures to back up the leaks I claim. I believe the idea behind Wikipedia and the "ignore all rules" rule is an open, honest, and unbiased source, even if that requires information to be based on personal knowledge. I am not attempting to discredit BYD, as I did not edit out any of the positive information, and praised the interior quality of the vehicles. Wikipedia is built on reliable (WP:RS) and verifiable (WP:V) sources. While I don't doubt that your report is accurate, I have no way of confirming it to a source in a book, magazine or newspaper. Given the scope of the problems, such as fluids leaking in the display car, it's hard not too expect that the incident would have been covered in the local media. Please add the required sources and please review WP:NOR which documents policy about the "original research" you have done on the subject. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions. I have recently added content to the List of Characters in Metalocalypse, only for it to be deleted repetedly. The content may have SEEMED offensive, but if you were familliar with the show in any way you'd KNOW that the content was true. On top of that all you would need to do is actaully read the article to realize that my content was verifyable, instead of reading the first paragraph of it and deciding that I was vandalizing. I think Wikipedia would be a better place if you wouldn't delete content of others in a subject you obviously know absolutly nothing of. And I know I'm not the only one you've done this too, and now your saying my account will be deleted because you know nothing about the articles you're supposedly "cleaning up". So from now on, before deleting the content of others, make sure you actually know what you're doing. Stay off of articles you don't know anything about if you're looking to clean things up. So what? Edit done on the Gainesville, Florida article

Hi! I noticed you reverted my edit of a link about the University of Florida. I changed that link because it was incorrect; the text of the article said something to the effect that the Gainesville campus was the third-largest in the US, but linked to an enrollment list instead, on which UF was further down. UF was indeed third on the campus-size list, so I changed the link thinking that was originally what the text of the article intended. About the article Thinking

It seems to me, that there is not room for a real discussion about subjects on Wikipedia.

Now, my attempts to reflect upon what thinking is, have been eradicated twice now, by

experienced editor's, without a comment. To me it seems that there is a censorship

involved in this type of behaviour, and that is, by my opinion not fruitfull for

the wonderful service that Wikipedia is. I am restoring my article on 'Thinking'.

Simply because you do not like the substance of another person's edit, you are not given the right to autocratically remove such contributions. That a condiment is being used as an ingredient in a product attempting to claim legitimacy, I believe, is a very relevant point, as a more legitimate product would isolate the active ingredients in that condiment and include only those, it is a matter of questioning the seriousness of a product. Reverting removal of www

Hi there. I'm curious as to why you reverted on these two edits. You don't really provide any explanation as to why you reverted it. www is no longer needed in domain URLs under http specs and is considered archaic, but the main reason for removing them is to prevent wrapping of the URL in the infobox. Canterbury Tail, I've had no issue with wrapping in either article and I'm not sure how you've determined that this is an issue with most browsers. If it were an encyclopedia-wide defect, the www prefix would be prohibited, removed automatically by the template or systematically by a bot. I think you may have misunderstood the occasional problem here. I've checked it on multiple devices and browsers and in many instances on Chromium based browsers (Chrome on Windows (but not on iOS as that's actually Safari), Edge etc.) with default skin and font, the URL for these particular ones is wrapping at times due to the width of the infobox. It's just a pure factor of the length of the URL and not any kind of a special issue of the www itself. No one has come around and said that www is prohibited or needs to be automatically removed or it's something a bot should or shouldn't do, it's just purely that in some instances the text is too long and causes it to wrap sometimes that's all. Removing the www prevents this wrapping in these particular cases. It doesn't happen in Safari based browsers such as running on a Mac or iOS system (but it would if it was a single character longer it's an artifact of how some handle the fonts). There's no systemic issue here, or technical problem, just sometimes they're too long and occasionally wrap and dropping the unneeded www helps with that. I'm not sure why removing a piece of redundant information that improves the viewing experience for some users is such a big deal here that it needs to be reversed. You don't need to keep pinging me. www is no longer a required part of a web address, it's a redundant archaic part of an old system that is no longer required. It was there to identify something as a web page, something that's since been superseded. Comparting it to me removing letters from tomato is apples to oranges and not even remotely an apt comparison. Domains are now just the main domain plus the extension, prefixes like www and others are subparts and www is now ignored (but still displayed if the user or source routing used it.) Anyway it's clear we aren't going to meet eye to eye. I was just trying to make things better for some users by removing the zero value part of the domain (for the domains that don't require the www, I would never remove it for old servers that aren't updated and do still require it) and that could be removed to tidy make some people display better. Dropping the www isn't undermining the template in any way or violating anything, even the template documentation utilizes URLs without the wwws, even for the same ones. Many infoboxes are now instructing users to drop the www due to this, but Infobox settlement doesn't do so at this time. Unfortunately Template:Nowrap doesn't really work. Question, is there any particular reason why you disagree that the birth year category does get listed first, example at Al Barlas? Various pages you have created in the past contradict this, such as Ellen Park, Shama Haider, Bill Moen, etc, where all birth year categories are listed first. • Tinton5, they're different because the order makes no difference and I've yet to see a policy that requires any particular order. In even-numbered years, when a new batch of legislators take office, I'll create one article and use that to clone the others, with no particular attention to the order of categories for living people or year of birth. The 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.

Our current leader is newcomer Generalissima (submissions), who has one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

I can provide a source for when Johnny Sack mentions the condo in Season 4, that's no problem.

However I don't see how that is "trivial" under the category "In the Media". There are other TV shows mentioned in the category, so how is that not considered "trivial"? 200.88.232.180 (talk) 16:53, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

• The TV series was named Point Pleasant. The skit was called "Point Pleasant Police Department" and was a recurring bit. The mention in The Sopranos, was just that, a mention that he owns a condo in Point Pleasant. New Jersey city categories

Hi @Alansohn:! I noticed you undid my changes to add NJ cities to the Cities in New Jersey category. I had a discussion with Aymatth2 on his talk page since he was the one who originally made the Cities in New Jersey a diffused category. He mentioned that it was added by accident and has made the category non-diffused. This is in line with the standard we set for all the other 49 states (cities in the US are listed under both the state and county-level categories). The consensus has been to exclude assistant principals, but the person was shifted between schools; consensus has also been to exclude mailing addresses in the body of the article. The scrambling of the order of the infobox may have led me to miss the logo change, but you listed that in your edit summary; I reinserted the logo in a separate edit. WikiCup 2024 March newsletter

The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.

The longest quotes in references ever seen

I admire your apparent dedication to all things NJ, but could it be that you're letting your ownership of all of your edits get in the way of collaborative editing? Fred Zepelin, you beat me to it, but there is no better justification than WP:FOOTQUOTE, which states that "A footnote may also contain a relevant exact quotation from the source. This is especially helpful when the cited text is long or dense. A quotation allows readers to immediately identify the applicable portion of the reference." As two sentences seemed too much to bear -- one clearly indicating who is being described and the second associating him with the place -- I have eliminated the first sentence in the spirit of collaborative editing. I more than understand that there are people who just want to point at a reference by name and hope that readers will wade through the source to find the relevant text or assume that the desired source will be available in some other article. I prefer, for the benefit of all future editors and readers, to be explicit in enabling "... readers to immediately identify the applicable portion of the reference" and I treat that as a best practice in all of my editing. I can't force you or any other editor to include quotations when adding references, but I fail to see what the objection is to their inclusion. Alansohn (talk) 00:01, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

The policy actually says don't put in a quote unless the cited source is "long or dense", which it isn't, and there are several other possible conditions where a quote would be useful, none of which are met. Are you seriously going to fight about keeping in extraneous information that is completely unrelated to the relationship between the subject and the town(s) he's from? I thought that was really odd until I looked at this; I guess you've gotten better in the last 5 years but really, take a step back and look at what you're fighting about here. Fred Zepelin, there are three sentences I cited directly from WP:FOOTQUOTE: "A footnote may also contain a relevant exact quotation from the source. Sentence one says quotations can be used; there is no possible alternative reading. Sentence three explains why it's useful to use them and the purpose it serves to include them. Sentence two does not say "don't put in a quote unless the cited source is 'long or dense'" as you falsely claim; it says that quotations are "especially helpful" in such cases.

This is exactly why I keep full sentences; it prevents con artists from misrepresenting what the source actually says by using sentence fragments in a deliberately deceptive manner.

It astonishes me that you are seriously engaging in a battle based on the complete and utter misrepresentation of the guidelines you claim to be enforcing. Please stop wasting any further of my time and refrain from leaving any further messages here. Alansohn (talk) 00:24, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Ocean County, New Jersey

That source that you keep on adding to that page is opinionated and it's original research, the same way you reverted all of the edits I made putting the rest of the counties in specific categories saying it was "original research" just because I have it a certain way. I don't know why you keep on removing the sources I cited and re-adding that source on those pages especially if the sources I added were more relevant to the pages. Those pages should have been left alone when I cited the sources to back it up.

I'm not reverting any of your other edits because i'm not trying to start another edit war but i'm just trying to understand why you think like this. MidAtlanticBaby (talk) 07:15, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

• MidAtlanticBaby, when you edited the article for Union County, New Jersey here to say that "Union County is unique in that it extends across both North and Central Jersey", you didn;t add a source; you helpfully explained "Those are the boundaries of the municipalities and the regions the municipalities are located in tho … And I know they are". Basing an edit on what you "know" to be true is the very definition of WP:Original Research.
  There is disagreement about which counties are parts of North Jersey, Central Jersey or South Jersey; and there are opinions that there is no such thing as Central Jersey. In his statement about signing bill S3206 promoting Central Jersey tourism into law in August 2023, Governor Murphy says "The 'Central Jersey' region will be comprised of, at minimum, the counties of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset." The bill does not say that no other counties are included; it says that the four listed counties are "at minimum" part of Central Jersey.
  My edit for Ocean County, New Jersey, says that it is considered part of Central Jersey but wasn't included as one of the four counties in the 2023 legislation; I used a reliable and verifiable source to say that it was included and another source from the same newspaper saying it wasn't one of the four included "at minimum" by the state; your edit removes all of those details and says that Ocean County is part of the Jersey Shore.
  I'm not sure what that adds as the article already says in the first sentence that it's part of the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore runs north-south, while the North / Central / South slices run east-west. A county can be both part of the Jersey Shore AND part of North / Central / South Jersey.
