Removal of Content from Wikisongs

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from an article. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. I did not make it

[edit]

I did not have enough expiernce to become an admin. Look at the discussion about my application in the original posting. GreaterWikiholic 18:30, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block

[edit]

I have indefinitely blocked you for contributing absolutely nothing to the encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a social networking site as you have treated it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have also deleted everything but this user talk page in your user space.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've Been Blocked!

[edit]

Kevin,if you read this, you should know that I've been blocked. It is indefinite. I've not vndalized! Help me! AlexHillan 22:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alex. Now, you´ve been blocked for not contributing to then encyclopedia... You´ve been talking too much with other users ans socializing, instead of helping out... Now, the block was a bit to severe, I know... Well, if you wish to get another chance, then say so here and I´ll help you convince an administrator to umblock you... Good luck, Tom@sBat 22:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have you good reason to be unblocked say so here. If you wish to be unblocked, follow what the previous poster said. You have done absoulutely nothing to the mainspace though. Yes it was a bit severe. Thanks.GreaterWikiholic 23:16, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, TomasBat is talking to RyuLong about unblocking you on RyuLong's TalkPage. If you are unblocked, you MUST make useful edits to the encyclopedia. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 23:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now if you wish to be unblocked read this. Wikipedia:Appealing a block. I did warn you before about making no edits to the mainspace did I not? GreaterWikiholic 23:42, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, you really need to think about why you're here and what exactly you intend to contribute to the project. If you request unblock, that will probably be the first question to be asked. Because right now, your track record is not great at all - Alison 23:45, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Official Appeal of Block

[edit]
checkY

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I am not judging Ryulong's block in anyway. Rather, I am accepting your assertion that you will now use the majority of your edits in the encyclopaedic mainspace. This does not mean you cannot socialise, but you must base your socialisation around the development of articles. There will be many editors watching your activity over the next few weeks, please ensure they see nothing to make them wish they hadn't supported your unblocking.

Request handled by: Steve (Stephen) talk 08:20, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To reviewing administrator, please see my comments on User talk:Ryulong. That this user has not yet contributed to the encyclopedia is evident, but neither has he made any bad-faith edits. It would have been far more appropriate to issue a warning about userspace overuse and guide the user toward contributing before unceremoniously and summarily blocking this user, much less indefinitely. I will not act unilaterally, in part because I need to sign off for the night soon and may not see Ryulong's input, but my input is to reverse and unblock. Newyorkbrad 04:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration Committee

[edit]

If you wish to appeal a ban. See Wikipedia:Arbitration committee. I am sure they will hear it Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 04:04, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If he refuses, post a request for arbitration here on your talkpage and I will ferry it to them hereGreaterWikiholic 04:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should you be unblocked, you must become the Wikipedian you wanted to be as you said in the above topic. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 04:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon me for jumping in but any mention of the Arbitration Committee is way, way premature at this point. The user has taken the correct step so far, which is to post a request for an administrator to consider unblocking. In the first instance, the request will probably be referred to User:Ryulong, who performed the block, for his input, and then considered by an uninvolved, independent administrator (or referred to the administrators' noticeboard for consultation). The Arbitration Committee is the last resort in dispute resolution, not the first. If there are any procedural questions about all this please let me know. Newyorkbrad 04:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, thanks. GreaterWikiholic 04:29, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. My comments on the unblock request are above, BTW. If AlexHillan is unblocked please continue guiding him toward making productive contributions. His userspace work is fine in addition to content or gnoming contributions, but shouldn't be a substitute for them. Regards, Newyorkbrad 04:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What he means by no contributions

[edit]

Ryulong means no contributions by pointing out that you have made no contributions to the mainspace, (things like articles). Thanks.GreaterWikiholic 04:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you have been unblocked

[edit]

I have composed a reading list for you.

I hope this helps. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 01:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a challenge

[edit]

I shall give you a challenge. You must make 400 Mainspace contributions in the next three months. If you succeed I will give you a barnstar. GreaterWikiholic 02:17, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, have you thought about maybe asking to be adopted?. I've seen that work well in the past - Alison 03:37, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IP address blocked

[edit]

My IP address is still blocked. My account was unblocked, but my IP address wasn't. It expires June 2, so it's no big deal, but if an admin could unblock my IP address it would be great. Thanks, AlexHillan 03:33, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock

[edit]
checkY

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock of 71.139.32.31 lifted.

Request handled by: Alison 03:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... give it a few minutes. IP blocks seem to take a little "catching up" sometimes - Alison 03:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Resolution

[edit]

Since I have been blocked for being too social, I have resolved to add no more than one item to my userpage each time I come to Wikipedia. This will help me to contribute to the mainspace. My userpage will grow as I become more experienced, though. AlexHillan 05:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Still, your edit count does not look that good, {http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/Tool1/wannabe_kate?username=AlexHillan&site=en.wikipedia.org }, I suggest that you post much less on usertalk pages. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 17:11, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On reverting vandalisim

[edit]

You told me this morning that you wanted to learn how to revert. Here you go Help:Reverting. GreaterWikiholic 23:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, 21 mainspace edits. Hurry up. GreaterWikiholic 00:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About cleanup

[edit]

I noticed that you placed the cleanup tags and did not give a reason here. Please read this and do so next time. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 00:56, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Improving Wii v. PS3

[edit]

I placed some pictures and cited Cohen v. California. Please suggest some improvements. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 01:08, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On a completely unrelated subject, your Wikisongs were deleted.GreaterWikiholic 03:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you really want to fight well, read this Wikipedia:vandal.GreaterWikiholic 23:13, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I suggest that you put your Songs back on.GreaterWikiholic 00:04, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see, the article is in need of cleanup. You'll need to put much more effort into improving the article. I'll rate it later on it's talkpage, but as of now, you must put in more effort. I suggest that you visit Wikiproject schools to get guidelines, (join if you know a lot about schools)GreaterWikiholic 02:20, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On a completely unrelated subject, I gave you some userboxes. Now get to work, you are at 185 edits, 33 mainspace, 48 user, 70 usertalk and 28 wikipedia. Hurry up and make more effort or you'll get blocked again. GreaterWikiholic 02:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Wikibreak

[edit]

You did tell me that you'll go on a wikibreak for five weeks. Please put the appropiate template from this page onto your userpage once you go off. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 02:54, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Article

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Discovery Center School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.Thomas Yen 09:54, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Thomasyen[reply]

WHAT IS THIS?!

[edit]

What is this code on your monobook.js? (By the way, DCS was deleted) GreaterWikiholic 04:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not desereve that Barnstar!!!

[edit]

I notice that you have given me a barnstar for my 'tireless edits' what have I done to derserve that! All that was done in school, I have not yet given enough time and effort to get that. A better BS for me might fall in here or here. Well still, I have not done enough to get that BS. GreaterWikiholic 04:41, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes, I will make a Wikipedia Summer Program for you to complete. If you complete it i'll give you a exeptional newcomer award. I'll send it to you through your E-Mail (since doing it here might take up too much space), thanks.GreaterWikiholic 04:43, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Forget it, I can't contact you via E mail, so I'll just give it to you on your talkpage. Thanks. (by the way, the offical abbrivation for barnstar is BS (see for yourself: WP:BS) so that will be appropiate and shant be confused.) GreaterWikiholic 00:23, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning Cleanup

[edit]

Tags will not nominate things for cleanup by themselves. Follow the procedures at WP:Cleanup and place them on the list, with a reason. Thanks. GreaterWikiholic 20:09, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
