Welcome[edit]

Hello, Alexanderlrs, and Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I first noticed your newly created Maria Olympia article; thank you, that is a helpful addition to Wikipedia. I also see that you've been "jumping right in" and making some contributions to articles like CNN and Richard Quest; that is exactly what we'd like you to do. Please continue your good work!

Following are some links that are helpful for newcomers:

I also have a couple specific items of advice for you:

Signing your name[edit]

As you may already know, you can sign your name on talk pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp. Do sign your name when adding comments to talk (discussion) pages, but don't sign your name on an article page (not even on a newly created article). On the history page for the article, your name will show up as a contributor to the article.

Image Use Policy[edit]

If your image is in the public domain, or licensed under the GFDL, then it's OK to use, if so, you need add source information by going to the image page, and editing it to add source information. Please see Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Copyrights for details. Unfortuanately, If the image cannot be established as public domain or licensed under the GFDL, it will most likely be removed from Wikipedia.

If you have any other questions about Wikipedia, then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Help desk. You can also drop me a question on my talk page.

Thanks for uploading Image:Mariaolympia.gif. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Please add a tag to let us know its copyright status. (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. --Matjlav(talk) 02:28, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Though you tagged Maria Olympia as fair use, you have no source and no justification, so unless those are provided, the image will be deleted the same as if you didn't tag it. --Matjlav(talk) 19:43, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
