Welcome[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Alexchen4836. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started.

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • I suggest that you try to improve a few articles first, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Shandong Luneng Taishan uses name Shandong Luneng in the 2016 AFC Champions League according to AFC regulation[edit]

What is the AFC regulation for team name? Where to find it? thx --Lisan1233 (talk) 12:45, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2016 AFC Champions League Competition Regulations SECTION 3: ENTRY, WITHDRAWAL, MATCH SCHEDULE, COMPETITION SYSTEM → 5. Entry → 5.2.1. The name and/or logo of a Participating Club shall not directly refer to the name and/or logo of any third-party entity, whether or not that thirdparty entity is a commercial partner or sponsor of the Participating Club. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 01:54, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Shandong Luneng is the short name of Shandong Luneng Taishan FC, the full name used since 1998 when the club founded. There is no thirdparty entity, Shandong Luneng is only a short name.--Lisan1233 (talk) 03:11, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Shandong Luneng Taishan can use the full name according to AFC Champions League regulation, because this name is long-term use. However, the club didn't apply for full name and the AFC believes Taishan is third-party entity. Maybe they thought it's not important for the club. So in the AFC Champions League, Shandong Luneng Taishan uses name Shandong Luneng FC. SEE SHANDONG LUNENG FC (CHN) --Alexchen4836 (talk) 03:33, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
WP must follow AFC?--Lisan1233 (talk) 04:59, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
AFC Champions League is official competition of the AFC. It's better to use the club names which were admitted by the AFC in related WP pages. So it is Jiangsu FC, Shandong Luneng and Guangzhou Evergrande, not Jiangsu Suning, Shandong Luneng Taishan and Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.--Alexchen4836 (talk) 07:02, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thank you. --Lisan1233 (talk) 09:50, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There's no English sources indicating there need to be two columns/names for the clubs, they all just show them once, having two lists is mostly duplicate. The club names I inserted are from a reliable English-language source. I would suggest you reinsert the earlier version. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 17:27, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(1) About the club name. For example, Shanghai Shenhua F.C. changed club name to Shanghai Greenland F.C. in 2014 and then Shanghai Greenland Shenhua F.C. in 2015. You could find dozens of related reports on this if you google it. [1][2][3] and so on. So obviously, FIFA's website is not updated and still uses the old name. I don't think it could be a reliable source for the Chinese football at this time. On the other hand, Jiangsu Suning F.C. and Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C. were named as Jiangsu F.C. and Guangzhou Evergrande in the Asian Football Confederation's website. How to mediate the conflict between the FIFA and the AFC? I believe the source from the Chinese Football Association would be better.
(2) About the team name. Unlike most of the football clubs in the world, Chinese football club owns club name and team name. And the names changed a lot of times. Club name can be changed when they changed ownership. Team name can be changed every year for sponsor reasons. Sometimes the team name would be more famous than the club name, the best example is Whowin Group, they are sponsoring Liaoning F.C. for 10 years and now team name Liaoning Whowin is more famous than club name Liaoning F.C.. The reason I put the team name in the table is it made too much confusion for the non-Chinese speaker. The source of team name is from entry form of each club. For example, in the Beijing Guoan F.C.'s entry form, you can see "Beijing Guoan Le Eco Football Team" in the form. —Alexchen4836 (talk) 02:20, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

China national football B team[edit]

How are Caps and goals counted? still only FIFA A-level matches? Marcello Lippi hopes China national football B team take part in 2018 China Cup. If 2018 China Cup is still A-level, Is China NT A or B? These are my questions.Thickertom (talk) 13:23, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is no doubt that if B team take part in FIFA A-level match, caps and goals will be counted as China National Team. There is no standard about how to count caps and goals of national B team. In my viewpoint, it must fulfill three conditions: (1) non A-level match; (2) international match; (3) play in name of national B team. However, this is debatable. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 01:46, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, from Portugal,

please, it's compression in the infobox (and in intro for his summarized career), full names of clubs in storyline.

Happy editing --Quite A Character (talk) 18:57, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

by which guideline? This is my first time to hear that. In the page of famous footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, full names of clubs did not appear in the storyline. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 08:39, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable English-language sources for China League One stats[edit]

Hi there. I think we've crossed paths at a few articles of players who play in China so I thought you might be willing and able to help me out with the following question: Where can I find reliable English-language sources for China League One stats? I just added sources to Aboubakar Oumarou's career stats table but neither Soccerway nor worldfootball.net have the numbers for his stint at Shenzhen. Regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 14:47, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on: Soda Soccer is a reliable source, but there is no English page. For English source, in my opinion, Transfermarket is a reliable for Chinese football. It's updated by a member closed to the Chinese Football Association and the career stats was strictly from the official match report of Chinese Football Association. As for Aboubakar Oumarou, he has been capped for Cameroon national team, so national-football-teams would also be a reliable source. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 08:38, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, very helpful! :-) Just a pity transfermarkt.com and national-football-teams.com disagree on the goals scored in 2017: tm says 12, nft says 13… Regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:41, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Futsal Championship 2018[edit]

@Anbans 585: Done. Futsal is not popular in China, no any related article have been reported so far. Chinese FA didn't announce the list at the official website. So I have to add by the internal list without references. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 03:10, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wang Wei (footballer, born 1989)[edit]

Hi, will you create another footballer named Wang Wei soon? Because Wang Wei (footballer, born 1989) really should be at Wang Wei (footballer). Thanks Timmyshin (talk) 20:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Timmyshin: I created his page directly from red link at Shanghai Greenland Shenhua F.C. and Wang Wei is a common name in China, so I thought Wang Wei (footballer) had been taken. Other footballers name Wang Wei include: Wang Wei (footballer, born 1991) (at Beijing BIT), Wang Wei (footballer, born 1994) (also at Beijing BIT), Wang Wei (footballer, born 1993) (unattached player, played for Baotou Nanjiao last season), Wang Wei (footballer, born 1999) (Henan Jianye reserve team), Wang Wei (footballer, born 1982) (played for Chengdu Blades in 2000s) and so on. However, none of them fits WP:GNG. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 00:26, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Timmyshin: Yes of course. I'm not against. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 00:36, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Naming issue of Dalian Transcendence[edit]

Hi Alexchen4836. Dalian Transcendence signed naming sponsorship contract with a local car dealer on 16 July, to compete as Dalian Huifeng Automobile Plaza (大连慧丰汽车广场队) for the rest of 2018 season. News were on local media and the offical team weibo, but the name did not appear on the official report in the following matches, so I'm wondering if the name sponsorship should be mentioned on related pages? Thanks. --Outranger (talk) 02:34, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Outranger:According to the league regulation of Chinese FA, new sponsor name or club name can be registered only before the season. Sponsor name changed during the season would not be recognized officially. I think you could add this in the section "History" of club's page and maintain Dalian Transcendence on other related pages. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 02:48, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Outranger: Happy editing ^_^ -Alexchen4836 (talk) 03:12, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

China national football team results (1913–1949)[edit]

Hello, Alexchen4836, can you please provide any link where you find the information about 17 July 1948 match of China PR against India. Please if you have write down to my talk page or provide link at the China national football team results (1913–1949). And if possible 8 July 1936 match between them, though I provided a link but if you have better data, please provide. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 18:32, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dey subrata: The information is from a book 100 years of China national football team [4]. China played a series of matches at Calcutta on their trip to London including 3–1 win over Muhammad (12 July 1948), 2–0 loss to East Bengal (14 July 1948), 0–0 draw against Mohan Bagun (15 July 1948) and 1–0 loss to India (17 July 1948). No further information for these matches in China. Perhaps the newspaper of Calcutta at that time could provide more detail. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 02:24, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Nzd: Source from Hong Kong FA website shows Wu Weian has been withdrawn from the team squad. This default squad of this page is the OS of Guangzhou R&F F.C. (一队), you must click the third column (港超队) to check the information of R&F (Hong Kong). --Alexchen4836 (talk) 00:32, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, that was where I was going wrong. He is still listed as a player on the OS, but will bow to your judgement about the Hong Kong FA website. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 08:25, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About Jin Jingdao's national team caps[edit]

In English wikipedia, his caps are 2. In Italian wikipedia and National-Football-Teams.com, his caps are 3 (each one in 2011, 2012 and 2013). Which one is right? --Thickertom (talk) 07:57, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Thickertom: NFT says he substituted on in the friendly international against Spain on 3 June 2012. [5] It's incorrect. He didn't play in this match (Source: [6]). So two caps is right. --Alexchen4836 (talk) 00:42, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
