Re copy editing your Tabubil article completed[edit]

I completed my copy edit of your article.  The edits I made are documented in the edit text as comments at the end of paragraphs that I edited. Most of my edits were to break up so-called "run on" sentences, sentences that had several thoughts better expressed in several sentences instead of just one.  I also rearranged the logical sequence of some sentences, most notably in the Climate paragraph where you wrote about bird eating spiders and other new species.  I didn't know exactly how to handle the clause you tacked onto the highway sentence, the clause about the low water levels occurring on the Fly River, and how that affected traffic on the highway. You'll need to read that to see if my edit made any sense. On completion I added the League of Copy Editors tag at the end of your article.

I worked on the page significantly, including removing your derogatory and untrue statements ("human effluent", "high unemployment"). The affected reference I removed added no value to the article whatsoever, appeared to be only an editorial opinion piece from The Redcliffe and Bayside Herald – against WP:NPOV – and was misconstrued as a citation to your statements. You are saying it is not NPOV because it is attributed with a reliable source? Your edits seeked only to minimise content to a 'rose tinted' version, creating a POV. There was some good to your edits, as was pointed out by a minor reversion by User:Orderinchaos, and I should have been more selective about what I reverted and warned you about. I do not WP:OWN this page, but you are not removing properly referenced content without consensus. Please still state any relationship you have with the Redcliffe City Council or Redcliffe tourism industry.
Yes, I am saying that it is not NPOV because it is attributed to what looks highly-likely as an editorial piece of The Redcliffe and Bayside Herald, and editorial pieces in newspapers is an opinion of the newspaper. My edits removed statements that could have been interpreted as vandalism with your claims that Clontarf's coast is "polluted with human effluent", which sounds as though there is untreated human feces on the beach. Completely untrue. The occasional foul smell in the Clontarf area is caused by baking seaweed in the dry man-made concrete drain beside Bells' Beach caravan park, which is something Redcliffe City Council has worked on for years to avert. And in any case, the cited article states a "``raw sewage'' smell" (emphasis added) – it smells like shit doesn't mean it is shit, but that is what it has been misconstrued as. People swim, boat, jet ski, fish and eat the fish from Bramble Bay. If its shoreline was as bad as you made it sound like, there would be plenty of cases and reports of sicknesses and warnings to not use the bay and beaches. The other claim of "high unemployment" wasn't even cited at all, yet in the same sentence continues to state that "many residents (commute) to Brisbane daily for work". Re unemployment, that is an easy one: According to the "Snapshot" links reachable from this link [1] (note 2006 labour force stuff isn't out yet):

In the 2001 Census, 371 people (219 males and 152 females) were unemployed, representing 11.2% of the labour force. (this compares with 7.8% in Brisbane (Statistical Division) and 8.2% in Queensland)

In the 1996 Census, there were 411 (12.0%) unemployed people (273 males and 138 females) and 506 (13.8%) unemployed people (333 males and 173 females) in the 1991 Census. (this compares with 8.8% and 10.5% in Brisbane (Statistical Division) and 9.6/11.3 in Queensland)

I sincerely apologise for removing the comments on your talk page.
For your information, those passages above are the officially beliefs of my church.
These doctrines are generally immodifiable, and it does not have anything to do with the neutrality any article.
Anyone who believes in those passages would qualify to be baptised in our church. In other words, I am merely stating the official beliefs of my church; You do not necessarily need to agree with any of them. If you still have any doubts or questions, we can talk.

Actually, the Seventh-day Adventist Church do believe in the infallibility of the Bible (ie. all the Christian beliefs and practices ought to have biblical backing). The Oneness Pentecostals do believe that Jesus is the one and only true God and reject trinity. The majority of Christian denominations believe that Jesus will return to Earth one day from heaven to judge the world and that the righteous will be rewarded by receive eternal life, while the wicked will be condemned. I personally have no issue with an itemised list of core beliefs of a church, as long as it is marked that way. I see you do have that information on the english wikipedia here. PNG[edit]

Quick question: is Rannells, Jackson (1995). PNG : a fact book on modern Papua New Guinea (2nd ed). Oxford University Press. ISBN 0-19-553679-7 likely to be a useful source for anything? I realise it's about 11 years old, but yeah, got it at the State Library Bookshop at their sellout (also got a great book on Australian PMs that I'm hoping to use soon). Depends - some subjects have very little while others (especially politics) get quite exhaustive coverage. It's done like a mini-encyclopaedia format with topics sorted alphabetically. The acknowledgements section notes that they've gone to quite some effort to determine what many of the facts are (well, were) as there were wide discrepancies between old and new data and earlier reports had been discontinued. 1990 census data was exhaustively examined. Would be interesting to see if a newer version of this book is available for loan anywhere.
As an aside, did I mention the "Political Chronicle" sections in the Australian Journal of Politics and History, which my uni library has on shelf from the 60s until the 80s, has an explicit section (about 4-5 pages for every 4 months) on political developments in PNG written contemporaneously? They seem to extend *well* beyond PNG independence. I'm using them to try and improve WA political topics, but just thought I'd give you a heads up as the writers are notable (the SA one for example was written by Dean Jaensch) and, although contemporary and needing to be reviewed against history, are definitely better than nothing.
