December 2021[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Marie Ange Mukagahima. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Thank you for your creations on African women. It is an area that is definitely under-represented on the encyclopedia. Navigating Wikipedia can be hard and learning all the rules here is difficult. If you need or want help, the editors who are members of Women in Red are a group dedicated to improving and helping with articles on women. WiR editors have been working over the last few days to recover some of your articles that were deleted and have had the originals draftified so that the history remains intact and you are credited with the article creation. Biographies of Rwandan women[edit]

Hi there, Aline. Thanks for all your efforts on covering Rwandan women in politics and business. I have been looking carefully through those of your recent biographies which have been found unsuitable for article space. The main problem seems to be that you have not included sufficient secondary sources, i.e. from newspapers and journals, awards ceremonies, critical appraisals or published books. For biographies of living people you need to include at least three good secondary sources which comment in some detail on the person you are covering. You might be able to find additional information from sites such as Women Entrepreneurs in Kigali and 8 Rwandan Women Rising or from similar coverage in Kinyarwanda or French. Please let me know if you are able to improve any of existing or new drafts along these lines and I can let you know whether the articles seem suitable for mainspace.
