COM 482 Introduction[edit]

Hello Allie, this is Shizuka from COM 482 class. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am in communication major, and this is my first time to take 400 level class at University of Washington. I hope we can learn something valuable from this class. --Shy63 (talk) 04:57, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Greetings Allie partridge and welcome (again!) to both Wikipedia and to COM482! I think Capital punishment in Massachusetts is a good choice. The article is somewhat advanced compared to other stubs so you might need to dig a bit deeper to make significant improvements. In any case, it seems you've already added a bit of text to the article and some good references. Writing about issues issues like capital punishment can be tricky because you need to maintain a neutral point of view and lots of people have strong feelings on topics like this. You might want to read this essay on Wikipedia: WP:ECOART. Good luck! —mako 17:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on your draft[edit]

Greetings Allie partridge! I've done a quick pass on User:Allie partridge/Capital punishment in Massachusetts. I made some small changes (mostly little stylistic stuff like moving the periods before the references) but you can look. I also had some feedback:

  • There is more stylistic and cleanup work left to be done. A solid pass with an eye toward these things would be helpful.
  • The reorganization and new references are great. It seems that there's still opportunities for expansion. For example, there are citation need templates. Could you find a citation? That kind of stuff feels like low-hanging fruit.

Why don't you go ahead, do a final pass to clean up that stuff, and then start moving things over to live version. If you want to make more changes to the article, you can just make those changes in the live version. Good luck and thanks for your work on the article! I'm looking forward to seeing the final thing! —mako 20:34, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
