Thank you for your contribution, but the record you added is unofficial (per this governmental website, which I can only assume is "official"), and the link you added appears to be broken, so I have reverted to the previous version. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 21:18, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please learn to work with colleagues[edit]

I realize you are only 11 years old, but that's even more reason for you to seek advice from others who have learned more before making major article changes, such as to longevity myths. I prefer a cutoff of "131 years 0 days". Other ideas:

--125 (three years beyond Calment has been mentioned) --134 (10% older than Jeanne Calment)

The reason I favor "131" is because the number of longevity claims diminishes greatly at ages 131+. Part of this has to do with the fact that the average maximum life span is 115 and most age exaggerations are off by 1 to 15 years. 115+15=130. I don't see how Maria Olivia da Silva is much different than Maria do Carmo Geronimo. I do see, however, a major gap to someone like Thomas Parr (152) or that Indonesian woman claiming "157". Even for Moloko Temo, her claim was signicantly different from Maria Olivia da Silva. Many longevity claims have partial documentation (often the age mistake was made in mid-life) and the claim may start earlier, while longevity myths often have no documentation and the claim will often begin at impossible.

A lot of this is splitting hairs, but I think you are the one who is doing the splitting. The bottom line, Jay Olshansky, the representative scientific skeptic demographer, was not willing to bet that age "130" was impossible but was willing to bet that "150" was impossible. There's a grey area from 130 to 150. Personally I think even 140 is impossible, but I wouldn't rule out age 130 years 100 days, which is less than 8 years from Jeanne Calment's 122 years 164 days.Ryoung122 09:07, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Brazil. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. You are persistently reverting this page to an earlier revision, removing subsequent contributions from myself and others in the process. Please stop. Heitor C. What I said about you never go back to my talk page? The rule applies to the disposal of notices, not provocations of users like you. More one reversal and I will contact an administrator. Heitor C. Jorge (talk) 05:21, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Brazil. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. talk page etiquette[edit]

Users are allowed to remove messages from their talkpages, replacing them again is edit warring, users removing such messages are accepted to have read and understood them, thanks. Off2riorob (talk) 14:02, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
