Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for Image:Jordan Gate.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jordan Gate.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 02:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Le Royal Hotel(amman)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Le Royal Hotel(amman) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. srushe (talk) 10:50, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Abdali.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Abdali.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 07:03, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of 2nd Circle

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article 2nd Circle, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable roundabout.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File source problem with File:AMMAN Aggregated.JPG

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:AMMAN Aggregated.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:14, 8 May 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. multichill (talk) 13:14, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Jordan Gate jerusalem.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Killiondude (talk) 08:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Jordan Gate jerusalem.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Fairuz

[edit]

Please stop deleting information about Fairuz's background that is well-sourced and/or replacing information that is sourced with unsourced information. Specifically, stop replacing Maronite Christian with Syriac Catholic, there are no sources supporting that phrasing. And stop deleting that she is an Arab singer. Discuss changes you would like to see made, while presenting reliable sources that support your changes on the talk page first. Tiamuttalk 10:53, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Amman12. I don't think I am mistaken. In this edit, you removed the source provided that attests to her being born into a Maronite Christian family and replaced it with a fact tag. The source was placed there to respond to your earlier request for a citation. It supports that phrasing. In this same same edit, you removed the information about how she is an "Arab singer" and replaced it with how she is famous in the Arab world (which is already stated in the next sentence). You also changed Maronite Christian to Syriac Catholic, even though the sources cited say "Maronite Christian". You also deleted the formatted references and replaced with bare links. You have made this same edit before as well. Please stop. And please stop denying what it is that you are doing. The article history is there for everyone to see. Tiamuttalk 13:16, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if the way I am communicating is offensive to you, really and truly. Sometimes because we communicate without voice tones, what we say can be misinterpreted. Because you are new here, you may not fully understand what you did in your edit I linked to above, and I should assume good faith (WP:AGF). So I would like to thank you for your efforts to improve the article, but please be careful about what you add and you remove. As I say above, your edit deleted much well-sourced information and replaced it with unsourced information and undid the ref formatting there. I'm not trying to offend you by saying this, just describing what was in the edit. I believe you that you did not intend for this to happen, but it did. If you need help formatting things in the future, just ask. Tiamuttalk 14:29, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, as concerns the lead you might want to check out Wikipedia:Avoid weasel words. Also, many of the sources I removed from the lead are not considered reliable by Wikipedia standards. You can read all about reliable sources at WP:RS. Various guidelines can be very confusing and may seem at first counter-productive, but following them will help us to get Fairuz's article above B class. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Amman Workshop 11-12 April 2012

[edit]

This research project (which I am part of) is looking for participants for a workshop in Amman in April. The workshop is about representation of and by the Middle East and North Africa, in various language Wikipedias, and looking at barriers to contribution and ways to overcome them

In particular we are interested in those who edit from or about the Middle East, either extensively, or who have been discouraged from editing more due to on-wiki issues.

Full details at http://www.zerogeography.net/2012/02/open-invitation-to-workshop-in-amman.html.

All the best,

Richard Farmbrough

The article Fadi Ghandour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not a notable person for its own website

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on On Going Buzz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:07, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Fadi Ghandour has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
