OC Systems deletion[edit]

The page was deleted and redeleted because of this discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/OC Systems. If you want to dispute this, you can take it to deletion review. The company is not notable and does not meet our corporation notability guideline. Fram (talk) 06:56, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Adenin TECHNOLOGIES[edit]

A tag has been placed on Adenin TECHNOLOGIES, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TrulyBlue (talk) 21:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

adenin TECHNOLOGIES[edit]

I left a question on the talk page about this citation. Don't I get and answer? Amyyaley (talk) 21:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adenin TECHNOLOGIES was deleted as it was an advertizement. You can recreate it if you wish but please read WP:COI, WP:NPOV, and WP:BFAQ first. Stifle (talk) 08:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In response to your question on my talk page, I only nominated Adenin TECHNOLOGIES for speedy deletion: the deletion was performed by Stifle. I don't recall the detail of the page, but please read the various policies Stifle quotes, along with the policy on advertising. I notice that a previous Adenin Technologies page was discussed then deleted: the discussion may be useful to understand the policies, you can read it here. You compared the article with other companies' pages. If you think other companies are advertising on wikipedia you can tag them or nominate for deletion, but please bear in mind that the existence of other articles doesn't necessarily set a precedent. If you want to get the article restored somewhere where you can edit it and make it encylopedic the instructions are above, and I'd be happy to give an opinion on whether it would qualify as an article. Regards TrulyBlue (talk) 10:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've read the version on your user page. I think you need to show that the awards the company has won are themselves notable and respected: there are so many industry awards these days that almost any company will pick up some awards if it wants to. The rest of the article does not tell me that the company is notable. How many employees does it have? What's the turnover? Has it grown significantly? The phrase "an award given to companies who demonstrate a willingness to listen and serve their customers in useful and innovative ways" seems like peacock words, even if it is the basis on which the award is given. Basically I think you're struggling to show that this company is notable - please read the definition of notability and see if adenin meets it. TrulyBlue (talk) 17:47, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adenin[edit]

Dear Amy,

It seems you have taken on a big task: promoting your company through Wikipedia. It's a tough one. How to describe a commercial enterprise without making it sound like an ad. Even journalists have trouble with this, which is why companies LOVE to have articles written about them: it's free advertising. What a deal! Your problem is that a lot of Wikipedians are pretty good about finding the ads so they can be deleted.

Think for a while about why your company is notable. Why would an encyclopedia want an article about it? You can get SOME clues by reading about other companies whose articles have been around a long time. What kinds of things make them notable? Is there something unique about their product, their history, the people involved, their impact on society?

We regularly delete articles about musical groups. Most are not notable, but some - even new ones - have an impact that attracts attention from the regular press, not the music page of a newspaper. One article might be enough to show notability, but usually it requires more. The essential question is whether people would want to read about it.

I looked at your web page. It seems like all the other yellow-page ads, at least at first glance. I don't have time to read through everything, so maybe there IS something notable there. I'm assuming that you know what is there and how to find it.

I wouldn't include ANY links to satisfied clients. Nobody cares. If I sold something to Microsoft, would that make me notable? :)

I'll try to help you, but I have little time. --Cbdorsett (talk) 04:48, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
