Undoing an edit[edit]

Please be aware that "It is a camera model. Previous models of Leica Camera already have articles on Wikipedia" is not an argument for retaining an article with no references. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Deb (talk) 13:24, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deb, Reference had already been added. Besides, for any such article of questionable notability rather than placing a redirect why do you not place look up search engines whether citations could be made available? If not, nominate the article for deletion. Anasuya.D (talk) 13:30, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, there were no references. Also, you are talking as though I deleted the article; I did not, I redirected. Please bear my advice in mind for the future. Deb (talk) 14:57, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Deb, check Leica CL (2017) for the reference I added. I had done it right after reverting your edit. Anasuya.D (talk) 15:01, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly - you did it after undoing (not reverting) my edit. This means that there were no references when I created the redirect. Please bear this in mind for the future. Deb (talk) 15:05, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Deb, this is not an argument. How can I add a reference prior to undoing the redirection? Anyway, you are much experienced than me. But I would request you to search and see whether references can be added when such a situation occurs. Often you would see that verifiable information is indeed there, its just not there in the article. Adding that reference will create value. Redirecting or deleting will not. Just a suggestion. No hard feelings. Anasuya.D (talk) 15:10, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm guessing that English is not your first language and that is why we have had this misunderstanding. I was advising you not to use Wikipedia:Other stuff exists as an argument for undoing an edit. A better approach would have been to go back to the previous edit (by going through the article history) and then adding in the reference before recreating the article, then you would not need to come into conflict with anyone else. You'll also notice that the article has now been tagged for improvement by another more experienced user, because one source is not enough to demonstrate notability. A tag has been placed on Category:Indian male classical dancers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
