Unsourced stuff

"Tallest bishop in the world"? Okay, seriously my friend, you can't add this kind of stuff to articles. It is trivial, unsourced, and not a defining characteristic of any bishop. I have reverted all of your edits, which may or may not be the correct thing to do; I'll review each of the four and see if there is anything there worth restoring. That's what he is known for thought, if you meet him the first thing people tell you is his height, and I know all of this beacuse I know him.

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Robert Barron, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. In this edit, you made several assertions of fact but provided no sources to back them up. Who cares if Barron is interested in baseball? What does that have to do with his biography? Prove that someone cares by providing a reliable secondary source. Elizium23 (talk) 02:45, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

First of all, please sign your messages with four tildes. Secondly, where was this source when you made the edit? You know how to add sources properly per your edit of Wenski's article, why not this one? Just add the source when you add the assertions and there's no problem. Well, that's not enough of an affiliation to have a COI, but you really need to be careful about the unsourced additions. Just because you knew his high school career does not qualify you to write about it on Wikipedia. It needs to be found in reliable secondary sources so that we can verify the information. Besides, this is a professional biography, nobody cares about his high school career. The Church bios do not go into such detail, and we certainly do not need to do so, either. THanks. No I knew about his career in the priesthood his duties and all of that, which is mentioned on the USSCB website which I cited. The "unnecessary info" is always done on Archbishop Listecki's it mentions he worked at a steel plant or or in Bishop Wack's it mentions his highschool. I never knew him in high school.

In which source did you find "Biggest bop" and cross-country team? What about his "hopes of studying law"? Where is it that he received the title of "Monsignor" and which rank of Honorary Prelate was conferred? Elizium23 (talk) 02:09, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

I must have forgot that it was this http://www.ccchs.org/wp-content/uploads/Msgr.-David-Toups-Bio-for-web.pdf. As for the Monsignor part I know that when he left for the seminary he had gotten the title, and I verified that by looking up and article in 2012 that called him Msgr. and an old document that had Fr. So on the quality of that source I would say it is WP:PRIMARY. It is not independent and directly associated with the subject. But then again, the USCCB and diocesan bios are more or less the same, so there is no sense quibbling. Please read WP:DUE for determining appropriate weight of coverage. I would say that if his early life and education can be covered in a paragraph the size of Listecki's, then we are on a good track. It has to be proportional to the sources and proportional to the rest of the article. His later theological education is useful and can be fleshed out. I noticed you attempted to add "other posts" in the infobox, just note that you do not put them in [[]] if they have no article here, otherwise they appear in red color. No, it is I who owes you an apology. I looked back at this talk page and realized I was very snippy with you, and others, who are new and attempting in good faith to contribute. I am sorry for my tone and obstructing your good work. I work with a lot of vandals and really disruptive editors and so I do not give the benefit of the doubt to people of good will. I forgive you, I see how some of that info is just random and not necessary. But I understand that there are people who will terrorize pages and you need to be cautious.
