The article Stephen Kipruto Teigut has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on John Kibathi Thuo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. -- Patchy1 REF THIS BLP 09:08, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kenyan Election Articles

[edit]

Hi, thanks for the good work on the articles. I converted the IEBC pdf into a spreadsheet which I am using to create the articles before updating wikipedia hence the faster turn around. We will need to go through the articles for quality purposes especially on parties, links to individual pages and geographies. I am yet to work on the county assemblies. I will do this once I am done with the National Assembly Update.Kenyabook (talk) 13:43, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see you are working on West Pokot. I am done with the other counties' national assembly election pages. Taking a break for now. I will try work on the county assembly pages later.Kenyabook (talk) 13:53, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

thank you so much for your contributions! please consider moving the contents of the candidates onto the election page itself. this applies to basically all candidates, i did it form eric arita to show what i mean:

The article Eric Mokua Arita has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

please use Kenya gubernatorial election in Nairobi, 2013 to describe candidates profiles, as done for other election pages as well.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. discussion

[edit]

(moved from ThurnerRuperts talk page ...) Thanks for your suggestions. Some of the candidates are already notable for other things as well, eg Obama's brother and former head of stock exchange, so may also need separate pages, not just further details for those. Anon547 (talk) 14:26, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

yes, might be. but notability is not defined on what you did or who you are, or whoses brother you are, but if somebody else took note of it. see notability criteria. --ThurnerRupert (talk) 14:39, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, entries for these already exist, so may not be appropriate to move the material, however others may be better to move until have more reason to have a separate page. Thanks for the suggestions. Anon547 (talk) 14:45, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've also nominated Charles Njoroge Gicheha. I don't want to discourage you, you're obviously doing great work in the kind of area where Wikipedia has traditionally been badly served. But we don't need articles on every single candidate in every single election. If you look at something like the UK politics articles, we generally have articles for each member of the national parliament, but in general we don't have articles for members of the equivalent of county assemblies, and we don't have articles for candidates who fail to win a national seat. Just generally, I'd concentrate on the "big" stuff for now rather than individual people, aside from the fact that just parroting lists of candidates for county elections is getting close to being a WP:GAZETTEER, we don't have articles on basic things like county assembly.Le Deluge (talk) 14:51, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Anon547. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Epega Robert Kipkemboi, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ironholds (talk) 03:38, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
