FAC[edit]
Aoba - yes, it's hot at present, and I don't think I've seen FAC so factionalised for quite a time. That's a shame, as it makes it an uncongenial atmosphere for collaborative editors. But your contributions, over a long time, have been invaluable. I really don't think now is the time to withdraw from it. I know that's presumptuous - we're all volunteers - but I think FAC will be seriously weakened by the withdrawal of experienced editors/reviewers at this point. KJP1 (talk) 00:04, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message! I agree that it is a shame how divisive the FAC space has gotten. I will 100% still be nominating FACs, but I think it is best for me to pause on reviewing to really take the time to self-reflect and grow so I can ideally come back as a better reviewer. If that makes any sense. With that said, I completely understand your point. The overall atmosphere/tone at the FAC seems very different than when I started back in 2016, and I wish it would become more collaborative. It just seemed more exciting back then, but maybe nostalgia is just kicking in for me. I'd be more than happy to help with easing this FAC tension as much as I can. Inna and Alexandra Stan[edit]
Hey there! I just wanted to say why I reclassified "Sober" and "Take Me Home" as promotional singles, since I see that may get confusing to readers. It is not because the articles of the respective songs are going to be deleted, though.
- For "Sober": The song was released as part of a Lidl campaign, and its music video is not a "proper" one like in the case of "Not My Baby" — it's a "home edition" video (possibly done to keep up with the trend of releasing stuff in quarantine). Also, there was no promotion going on at all for "Sober", it did not even enter the Airplay 100. I'm aware entering charts is not a criteria for single classification, but keeping in mind that "Sober" was released shortly after "Not My Baby" (and while "Not My Baby" was still climbing the charts), I'd say "Sober" should be classified as a promotional single. Add to that that there was minimum coverage of the song online. And just btw, only a lyric video was released for "Nobody" up until now, I'd say it's best to say that's a promotional single too unless more promotion happens for it.
- For "Take Me Home": This is the most obvious one out of the two I'd say. The song was released in a live version with a minimally-produced music video. The song is very very stripped-down, and was not promoted at all (she usually does live performances for her other singles). Also, she's already teasing the release of another single online. - Thank you for the explanation. That makes sense to me. The line between single and promotional single is becoming increasingly blurred in the age of streaming where people can release music at any time without a more "proper" schedule, but that is a much larger conversation lol. Haseo[edit]
Hi there. How are you doing. Since I've been playing the .hack//G.U. games in the past weeks, I also tried expanding the article of the main character Haseo. Still not planning to nominate it but could you give it a look. - I am trying my best lol. Apologies in advance because I actually do not know the answer to your last question. For the foreseeable future, I am focusing my Wikipedia time on my own projects, and I will not be doing any reviews or looking over other editors' articles. - @Tintor2: From my understanding, there is not a hard and fast rule on how fictional character articles should look and be structured. For instance, I have successfully brought fictional character articles through the FAC process where the production information was before the plot summary part and vice versa. It is really up to whether or not you think the structure benefits the reader the most. I know that is a somewhat vague answer, but that's my initial reaction.
- I would generally say no to a writer being mentioned as the creator because those are two separate things. It reminds me of something like Star Wars where a character is created by someone by other writers further refine and expand upon that individual to really make him or her great. I think it would be misleading to classify the writer as a creator.
- I honestly do not have the time to thoroughly read through the "Creation and design" section as it is rather long, but my initial response is the subsection titles ("Concept" and "Further development") are rather vague, and it is not really clear what distinguishes the two, especially since the "Concept" subsection covers information from when the character appears in games outside of his first appearance. So the organizational strategy is not immediately transparent to me from a very quick and superficial look. First of all, congrats on having Melanie's article reach featured status and to also appear on the Main Page. :D Having said that, I'd suggest requesting for the article to be temporarily protected so that only registered users can edit it. From experience, lots of "salty" users and unregistered asshats love screwing with featured articles when attention is drawn to them from the Main Page. Introduced in a backdoor pilot on Girlfriends as Joan Clayton's cousin, Melanie chooses to support her boyfriend Derwin Davis' career in the fictional National Football League (NFL) team the San Diego Sabres rather than attend the medical program at Johns Hopkins University. The series primarily focuses on Melanie and Derwin's rocky relationship, with Melanie's fears of infidelity serving as the core of a majority of the episodes' storylines. I found a surprisingly nice amount of coverage on the character, ranging from Melanie's character development to Mowry's casting, departure, and return. Critics responded negatively to Melanie, though the character received more positive attention from fans. I have been watching it on Netflix and I'm super confused lol The style of direction with little to no music makes it even more confusing. - I have watched the first episode of Twin Peaks years ago, and although I keep meaning to get into it, I never do for whatever reason lol. The show's creator David Lynch is known for being an experimental director so I am not surprised that the show is confusing. That's actually what draws me to it lol, as I respect someone that makes a story authentically true to their vision.

- In the end I didn't watch too much Twin Peaks as my father was interested more in police drama Narcos. Talking about police dramas, I kinda plan to nominate the villain from an anime police drama, Shogo Makishima. Since his season only lasted 22 episodes, it's quite small in comparison to other articles. If you have time, could you give it a small look. - Unfortunately, I will not have time to look through the article as I have already promised to help other editors. I do notice a citation error for Reference 18 so that should be corrected. I also do not think the citation in the lead is necessary as information about voice actors should be included and cited within the article. One of these days, I really should watch Psycho-Pass; I remember hearing about it for the first time way back when the anime was airing. It took me some time but from looking at the article I really felt like it deserved a GA tag and at first after I finished creating the entire article I had no interest in submitting a GA nomination for it as I felt that it still needed more time to expand but after reading the entire article again I feel like it has potential at getting a GA tag. I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on the article and advice about submitting GA nominations before I do it. - Thank you for the message. I do not believe a majority of the sources would be considered reliable/credible enough for a good article, and I'd recommend consulting Wikipedia:Reliable sources. I know it is discouraged to That Grape Juice, and as a reviewer, I'd question the appropriateness of sources like (SoSugary.com, Pop Base, KarenCivil.com, Papelpop.com, Febreteen.com, TheHoneyPop.com, Raw Hollywood, Rated R&B, and Soul-Addict.com). I'm not saying they are bad (as I have not looked into them), but I would thoroughly examine each so you can justify why they are reliable/credible enough for a good article. That's the first thing that jumped out to me when looking at the article.
- On a related note, I would avoid using sites like Tunebat.com to cite key/BPM. I would also check some of the wikilinks because I am assuming you do not want ThatGrapeJuice to be linked to the article on literal grape juice. This song is still relatively new so hopefully it would get more attention when the album comes out. However, right now, I am uncertain if it meets the WP:GNG requirement for significant coverage. Apologies, but I do not think it is ready for a GAN at the moment. It may be helpful to pursue a peer review first or to contact other music-focused editors. Hi, Aoba47! Once again, thank you for the advice on the article for Keke Palmer's song Snack. I just wanted to let you know that I have continued working on the article for Keyshia Cole's The Way It Is album in my sandbox. I have managed to collect lots of sources and info for the article but I am still having trouble with creating a few sections. As you can see, I have created sections for Music and lyrics, Release and promotion and Commercial performance but I am still having trouble understanding what it should look like and how should I add the information in a encyclopedic way. I also am thinking of working on a Legacy section since the album is very memorable and has gotten coverage from online magazines during it's anniversaries though I am having second thoughts about that. Well, first of all, congratulations on another FA on the Main Page. :D Still think the fact that you managed to improve every single article relating to that family pretty amazing. (As a sidenote, I'm also curious. Why them, compared to the other families?) A question I had was about the show winning a GLAAD Media Award. From what I've seen, GLAAD usually doesn't indicate as to why a specific work was nominated or won. So, how can we know that the show won specifically for Simone's portrayal? After all, Vincent was present at the same time she was during the win. Maybe it also won because of him (despite his portrayal having received criticism). - Thank you for the message! I am honestly still surprised I improved all of those articles to FAs and GAs. I am still very proud of it all. I started Liz Sanbourne, which was actually only the second Wikipedia article I worked on. I stopped watching Passions in 2002 after Josh Ryan Evans' death, and I wanted to know what happened to Sanbourne. I was inspired by Amelia Marshall's conversation about the show's representation of race and that lead me to work on the articles for the rest of the Russell family. One of these days, I'd love to go back and do further work on Passions-related articles.
- You are right that GLAAD usually does not provide this type of specifications. I believe the win was attributed to Simone since her actress (Cathy Jenéen Doe) accepted the award at the ceremony. Vincent (as well as Chad) had very prominent LGBT storyline that very likely played a factor in the win. I'm not sure. :/ Simone's actress accepting the award does give some precedence to her role in the show contributing to the win. Then again, I'm sure the are various shows and movie that have won the award that featured, for example, both male and female same-sex couples, but none of the actors involved accepted the award. Maybe it was only one of the producers or something. If we take that scenario and apply it to Passions, and one of the writers or producers had accepted the award, would we say that it really was Simone's arc specifically that garnered the award? Hm... I tried something with the first 2 paragraphs. In paragraph number one I ordered it 1) highlight, 2) production 3) vocals. Then, paragraph two is more of retrospective reviews of the song and ending how it helped Minogue get commercial success in the US again. Though the consensus seems to be against tables within the prose, I think tables better show the reader the album's rankings in an informative way. I want to here your opinions on this, though. - Apologies for the delay in my response. I can see how a table would be preferable. I could see how wall of text that would likely have very similar sentence structures would be less appealing to a reader. In my opinion, I think a table should be allowed if all of the entries are referenced.
- However, a majority of the music articles that I have contributed to are about far more obscure albums and songs that did not get this kind of wide-spread recognition. I do not have a lot of experience in this area. Do you know how FAs on other critically acclaimed albums on this level treat their accolades sections? It does make me think of how a song's or an album's chart performance has to be represented in both a chart and in the prose so maybe this is related somehow? Sorry for not being much help here. - Thank you for the response. I honestly feel like all of these are the albums were very unique and I feel like all of those artists deserved their flowers for them. I think improving them and adding a lot more information to them (just like how you do on other articles) is basically a great away to reward those artists especially after almost all of them had their own music careers in the industry get tragically terminated (mostly due to unsuccessful sales, bad record labels, personal situations, etc). Besides Tamar's album, I can see you working great with KeKe, Teedra, Brooke, Teairra and Paula's albums since they have really similar backgrounds and aftermaths to the other album articles you worked on. - I completely agree with you. All of these albums are very different and represents different moments in music history, but they do have a lot in common. I am glad that Tamar had somewhat of a comeback with Love and War, and I hope that things get better with her in the future. She is one of my favorite singers, and it really does sadden me to see everything she is going through right now. - I know right. It annoys me so how much how no other Wikipedia user has even tried to improve the articles for ALL of her albums knowing that there is a lot of missing information on them and they deserve more attendance. I, personally think that the articles for her Calling All Lovers and Love and War albums deserve at least 100 footnotes (with all of the heavy reviews they got from online magazines, chart positions, etc). That's the same thing I am trying to do while I am currently working on Keyshia Cole articles and a few other music-related articles by filling them up with as much (reliable and non-spamful) sources that I can find that's why you always can see multiple references in each section of an article I do. Also, I found out about that phrase after seeing a lot of people on Twitter post say that while tweeting about underappreciated/underrated singers. The Emperor's New School[edit]
My sources were the second film and show itself. In Kronk's New Groove she was a human agaim but with a cat tail. By the end of that movie she turned herself into a rabbit. - @Emperor001: Thank you for the response. I still do not think it is clear enough. There are many many discrepancies between the show and the two movies, though I do not think the writers were all that focused on continuity. Some New School episodes show the potions as temporary, but you could also go back to the original film where the llama potion was permanent and did not just wear off after a certain time. I think it is best to defer to the citation, specifically since New School does not explicitly say (at least from my memory) how Yzma became a human again. Aoba47 (talk) 00:24, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- You mentioned there was an episode in which Kronk refers to Yzma's feline transformation. If possible, I'd greatly appreciate the episode's name. - Season 1, Ep 9 The Emperor's New Pet. Everyone was assigned a cat to care for and Kronk named his Little Yzma because it reminded him of when she was turned into a cat. I admit I may be speculating a bit but given all the potions in the show are temporary it's the best way to reconcile the movie with the show. Maybe in the first movie. I think the show might have indicated that some potions last longer than others (been binging so it's hard to remember what was said in what episode).
- Couple thoughts. We can either add to the current sentence the comment that Ymza somehow became a human by the second movie and that in the show the potions re usually temporary or we can delete the sentence altogether. - Django Unchained sure was different when I explained to it to my father who knew Franco Nero's version instead. Guess I gotta see how different is the 60s version. The only article I nominated to GA is The King of Fighters XIV after having it copyedited twice once by a user who understands the game and another by a typical guild member. In case could review it, I decided to review it since it was the smallest so far (Haseo ended up being ridiculously longer). By the way, about Western movies, there is a new anime that seems inspired a lot by Western movies to the point each episode is named after movies like SE7EN, Reserovir Dogs and next week Mission: Impossible. - @Chidgk1: Take as much time as you need. There is no rush with peer reviews, and I think it is better to have a peer review up for as long as possible so it gets the most exposure for more and more editors to hopefully contribute to it. If you have not already, it might be a good idea to let SandyGeorgia know that you will be working on peer review comments after you do work on a separate article.
- I am going to print out the article today and do a thorough read-through of it, and either add my comments today or tomorrow (which you can address at any time that is best for you). Apologies for my somewhat scattered comments so far on the peer review as those are just things I noticed from a first read-through.
- I think we all experience the last part as Wikipedia editors. We are so used to researching a subject that it can be difficult to separate yourself and look at it as an unfamiliar reader. That's where I hope to be the most helpful as I am not familiar with greenhouse gas emissions or Turkey in general (although I really should be). Good luck with your work on the Afşin-Elbistan C power station article. These are incredibly important topics so I have a lot of respect for you for working on them. Chains of Love[edit]
I thought I'd mention, since you have an active interest in Chains of Love (TV series), that before I unlinked Anything Goes, I looked up the cited source for more information. It referred to an HBO series by that title, but I couldn't find anything else about it—or even any evidence that such an HBO series existed. Perhaps that mention should be removed? - @ShelfSkewed: Thank you for the message. I found a 1982 newspaper article about Anything Goes. I clipped the relevant part so you can view it without a Newspaper.com subscription (here). The Roman citation currently used in the Chains of Love article for that sentence misidentifies it as a HBO program. Anything Goes instead was a show for a now defunct network called Escapade, which apparently has connections with Playboy TV. So Anything Goes definitely existed at one point in time. I could add in the newspaper article to provide some background on the show, but I am uncertain if it would be worth it. What are your thoughts? I'd not be opposed to removing the mention. - I don't have a strong opinion either way, except that if the mention remains in the article it should have a helpful source. If you wanted to avoid adding text directly to the article, you could use the "quote" parameter in the citation template to put the context in the footnote. So that hopefully we won't also have to remove them once the PR closes. The idea is that if we get more of the basics addressed up front, FAC should be able to better focus on the substance. Since prose is not my strength, for me that means going through and highlighting all the MOS and source stuff I can, noticing if prose is not FAC ready, and leaving the prose fine tuning to others. And, if I know a PR is right up some editor's alley, remembering to ping them to the PR.
I will get over to your PR once I catch up. I took a day off yesterday to pout because my son's girlfriend's entire family (including her) has COVID (tested on Monday), so although my son has so far tested negative, he will be re-tested tomorrow, and it's unlikely he will escape it. While writing KOFXIV this year, I also tried Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. After giving it a copyedit and fixing the stuff you mentioned in the XIV review, I wondered if there was something important missing for a GA review? - @Tintor2: Thank you for the message. Here are some things that I noticed during a quick read-through:
- The screenshot in the "Animation" subsection seems unnecessary to me. It is recommended to keep non-free media usage to a minimal except when it illustrates a point that cannot be convey through the prose alone. I just do not see the value of this screenshot.
- I would avoid having a single-paragraph subsection like the "Animation" subsection. It may be better to somehow incorporate this information in the previous part of the "Development" section instead.
- Make the "Release and downloadable content" subsection into its own section.

Heyo, Aoba47! I just wanna congratulate you on your successful contributions to Wikipedia and your wonderful editing skills. I just came to let you know that I am very certain that I have created a well-polished article about an online magazine related to urban contemporary music... it's called Rated R&B. I was really bummed out after the article I created for the HotNewHipHop site (my first ever webzine article) got deleted by an admin due to it's similar style of the previously deleted version of the article so I chose to take inspiration from other articles based on webzines and I finally realized what I was doing wrong.. I was missing the notable information. But anyway I hope you check out the article and tell me what you think. One last thing, I am still continuing my now 5-month long work on the article for Keyshia Cole's The Way It Is album in my sandbox. I hope that I will soon get caught up with my other off-wiki thing so I can finally finish the article successfully. So far, I have added over 89 footnotes which is surprising because I assumed I was gonna only manage to add 64-79 footnotes since the album came out at a time where online magazines and coverage were niche. At this point, the article is expected to have at least 110 footnotes by the time I finish editing. - Thank you for the congratulations. Great job with the Rated R&B article. You inspire me to work on an article about an online magazine myself for a potential FAC. I do not think there are any featured articles on a digital magazine so that could be cool to try something new. I think we all mess up a lot when we first use Wikipedia so do not be too hard on yourself. A lot of it is trail and error in my opinion and learning from your mistakes.
- Your draft looks good so far. It should not be too surprising that coverage on this album is quite substantial. Cole's career was quite big at the time, and do not forget that although digital magazines were not around, there are plenty of newspaper articles to look into.
- Since you are still working on the article, I will wait to provide any major feedback until later. My only piece of advice right is to take care to only use quality publications as your citations. For instance, Pretty And Paid is a self-published blog on WordPress.com, and therefore is not usable on Wikipedia. I have seen discussions that The Grape Juice (which should not be linked to the Wikipedia article on literal grape juice) is not considered a strong, reliable source by Wikipedia standards. Hello Aoba47 and happy holidays. I wanted to ask for your opinion on Sleigh Ride; as you may know, Gwen Stefani recently released a cover of "Sleigh Ride" and I have listed it as a single per a source used on the page (it's one of the ones listed under refs; sorry, I'd include it but I don't remember which one it was off the top of my head). However, I am now learning towards changing it to a promotional single because I cannot find additional coverage claiming that it's a commercial single (radio adds, additional promo stuff, etc.). Still, I am skeptical to change it because of how the press release for single Here This Christmas describes "Sleigh Ride" – it makes it sound like the two are a package deal of some sort (press release)... I don't know. But I wanted to ask for your opinion – would you consider this a promo single or a commercial single, how I currently have it? Your advice would be welcomed. - @Carbrera: Thank you for the message. I read the BroadwayWorld article differently. I think they are putting them together because they are the only new songs added for the album's 2020 re-release. I do not read the article as supporting some of single package. In fact, BroadwayWorld only mentions "Here This Christmas" as a single and does not refer to "Sleigh Ride" as such. This Vulture source (here) does a similar thing by mentioning "Here This Christmas" as a single, and then only talking about "Sleigh Ride" without calling it a single.
- I believe the source you are thinking of that mentions "Sleigh Ride" as a single is this one? I am wondering if "Sleigh Ride" would even count as a single at all. This Orange County Register article (here) is another one that mentions "Sleigh Ride" just as a cover while it goes out of its way to say "Here This Christmas" is a single. I would actually argue that this was neither a single or a promotional single, but just a song that she released prior to the album and a tease for the "Here This Christmas" single which was put out ten days later. I've not done a lot of work on video game articles so I wanted to start with something smaller before jumping into a bigger, more well-known release so that's what led me to work on Wrath of the Darkhul King. I've never played it so there's no nostalgia here, and I was not particularly impressed with it when I watched a long-play of it on YouTube tbh lol. Chaos Bleeds is definitely better, but I prefer the Xbox game, and when I do become more comfortable with video game articles, I'd love to work on that. I loved the Xbox one, and it may be my favorite television-to-video game adaption. I might also work on all of the Buffy games, but I'm still on the fence about that one lol. Hello, Aoba47! I am almost finished working on the article for Keyshia Cole's The Way It Is album on my sandbox and I must say I am far impressed from the amount of information and sources I have managed to throw into it. There is only one more section I am still stuck on with and that is "Music and lyrics". The music and lyrics section though is kind of confusing since I have not really took time to get a basic explanation of it. I actually wanna add an .ogg sample file of Keyshia singing the pre-chorus and the chorus of "Love" since that is the most notable and lyrically memorable song from the album but I am not sure how to do that. What do you think? I also think this could be my breakthrough article and I might finally get my first GA or FA tag since all of the sources came from non-explicit and unbiased websites. - @Tease Pillar: From my experience, audio samples should only be used in an album article if they can be used to represent something about the overall sound (as non-free media usage is only encouraged to illustrate information that cannot be convey in the prose alone). So I would look through the coverage on the album to see if any of those articles talk about "Love" representing an overall style/genre used throughout the album or something about Cole's voice throughout the album. I would imagine that should not be too difficult as "Love" was such a big song that I'd think a majority of critics would be talking about it. A good place to start would be album reviews as most reviewers point out overall trends there. On an unrelated note, I would remove the images from the "Critical reception" section per MOS:SANDWICHING as it is discouraged to have text sandwiched between two images. - @Tease Pillar: I would encourage you to look at recent featured articles on albums and approaching editors who have recently nominated articles on albums for FACs (and even GANs) to get their advice on how to structure this type of section. I am not really good at saying exactly how to do it so I would not be the best person for this. It would be great if an editor in the future wrote a Wikipedia essay on how to structure an album article for a FAC, but again, I am not the right person for that. Although I have experience in this area, I just do not feel comfortable enough to act as a mentor or guide.
- Whether or not a song or an album was successful or not does not have any bearing on the GAN process. I have recently worked on an article about a country music album that did not even chart and received little airplay and was still able to get it through a FAC so I would get out of that mindset. Success is not part of the GA criteria, and I am not entirely sure how you reached that conclusion. Whether or not something has received significant coverage to the point it passes the WP:GNG requirements for a separate article does not automatically mean that an album or a song was a success.
- I would encourage you to only use reliable sources for Wikipedia. I have respect for other sites and blogs, but there is no reason to include them on here. I would advise you to remove any of those before doing a GAN for anything. I would also make sure that all the citations are properly formatted as I have noticed a few errors, like a missing publication date or using two different date formats in the same article.
- I think each of the articles listed could use further work prior to a GAN. They are all strong starts, but I think they need further development. For instance, when I first looked at the Dopamine article, I noticed that the lead was too short and it had unnecessary citations. Leads for albums typically do not use citations at all as all of the information should be included and sourced in the article itself. I am sorry as I am sure this is not the answer you want to hear. I would encourage to continue doing work on these articles as I am sure they can make very good GAs sometime in the future. Hello, @Aoba47: I came here to not only thank you for your feedback but inform you that I have now finished working on the article The Way It Is by Keyshia Cole. After long overdue, I have now managed to add 107 additional references and larger information to the article. I feel very blessed and excited about the outcome of this as this is my SECOND time rewriting and expanding an album article and I at first thought I was just gonna get in over my head and then pause working on the article indefinitely (especially from how long it took me) for obvious reasons but I now know that I have so much potential working on Wikipedia. I actually plan to continue and work on the entire era of the album by improving the articles for the five singles released alongside it and probably those two songs "You've Changed" and "Love, Thought You Had My Back" since I highly favor them. If this all ends successfully I might even continue on to devote most of my time on Wikipedia to improving Keyshia Cole-related article. I just wanna thank you for the advice and feedback you have given me while working on the article. I also wish you the best of luck with your forthcoming projects and I hope you come back strong with your editing on Wikipedia because you are truly one of the G.O.A.T editors on here. I am honestly so excited with doing articles related to Keyshia as she is my huge idol and I have been obsessed with her (and Beyoncé) as an artist and a icon nearly my whole life (since I was a toddler). I really do not understand why other Wikipedia users barely even took time in hugely editing articles related to her (especially her reality show and her first three albums) as she has made way more moves than many other R&B artists. I honestly am happy that I can discuss stuff with you as I have been fascinated with your style and work on Wikipedia and I wish you the best and I hope you never quit editing on here. I would like for you to review The Way It Is for me as it is now undergoing it's GA nomination though I have now found out that barely any editors on there have even reviewed any of the several album articles listed up there. I really think you should do it for me by just reading and describing how the information on each section looks and recommend me to fix any errors on it. I know you might be busy but you are the only editor left I know can really get the job done on this especially since you have nearly a hundred GA/FA-awarded articles in all on here and I am pretty sure you know by now how all of this works. I know it seems like I am begging but just please try with me on this and I will follow every step and I have even recently fixed most of the errors (grammatical, disambiguation links and irrelevant sources) that I have already found on the article. - It would be better to have a different editor handle the GAN review to get a fresh perspective. It is normal to wait for a GAN review, and your nomination has not even been active for a day yet so be patient. Sorry, but I will not be doing the review for this.
- I do notice a few issues you can fix while you wait though. "Love" is linked too many times as it should only be done on the first instance. I would actually double-check all of the song links as I notice a few mistakes here, like "I Should Have Cheated" being linked too many times, but not on its first mention in the article. I believe the audio sample is too long (as it has to be less than 10% of the song's length) and it requires a proper fair-use rationale. The "Music and lyrics" section has an instance of sandwiching with the images and audio sample that should be fixed. The image in the "Commercial performance" section should be removed as it does not have a connection with the content. I would encourage you to put in a request at the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors for a copy-edit.
- We have talked about this before, but a good article should only use reliable sources. Citations 39, 47, 48, and 50 are not reliable because these videos were not uploaded through an official YouTube channel. WhoSampled.com, That Grape Juice (which is still incorrectly linked to the juice), SteppersUSA.com, Discogs, a random eBay listing, Amazon and CD Universe customer reviews are also not reliable. I also notice several errors with the citation formatting, like avoid putting titles in all caps. Sources are very important to a GAN, and I would recommend really looking at what Wikipedia defines as a reliable source.
- For the short answer, no I will not review this GAN and I have left you some notes on how to improve the article further while you wait for a reviewer. - No, it's fine. I honestly am thankful that you explained some of that to me and I will try to look over the article. I also removed the SteppersUSA and CD Universe and Amazon customer reviews from the main sections. I will try to look over the WhoSampled links despite that being seen as very reliable and most of it's sample reports were actually accurate and even show detailed proof of the samples. I also do not know about removing the Discogs link that I added for the sampler album as that is the only one I could find. I will also check to see where I put the eBay link at as I had only used that for the release history to prove that it was released in a certain country. I plan to keep the links to That Grape Juice as they have informative and reliable information on there despite most WP editors assuming it is just an explicit blog despite it proving to be somewhat relevant.. let's not mention the amount of followers it has on social media even though that is just for show. Oh and I also removed the GAN that I added to the article as I feel it is not ready for it and there are also way more articles that look just like it and do not have a GA on it so I think it better off fine without that green circle with a plus sign and dark green lines drawing around it that goes on top alongside the article title. At the end of the day, not every article that has over 100 footnotes and large information shall get that type of accolade and at this point I really think it's better if the pros (like you) just do that type of stuff to your articles. Oh and let's not also forget that there are no Brandy Norwood-related articles with a GA or FA award despite most of them looking so great and on a higher level than most R&B/Hip-Hop album articles. Anyways, please wish me the best of luck as I go on to expand/improve more articles based on Keyshia Cole. @PanagiotisZois: I will be sending you screenshots from the Newspapers.com sources through your Wikipedia email. Unfortunately, a lot of them are repeats, but I will still send them to you regardless. It is common for newspapers to recirculate the same articles from other sources. For two of the links, I could not find a mention of the film. I have run across this sometimes with Newspapers.com that with more commonly-used words, it sometimes pulls up false-positive (for a lack of a better word). Long time no see :D[edit]
How are you doing? Because of Akudama Drive I've been watching some old movies since each episode has one of them as titles like Black Rain. It's really amazing how you make so many FAs despite difficulties editors tend to give. I have been editing some characters created by Clamp and recently made Kimihiro Watanuki GA. Now I'm aiming to make Kamui Shirō to also reach the same status but it's being copyedited. If possible, could you also give it a look in regards to any issues Kamui's article might have? I tried tonning down the reception section after the reviewer from Watanuki's article commented I should trim reception. I might also make Subaru Sumeragi too next year but I fear the authors did not reveal too much creation information about him. Congrats with your recent GA! I do not notice anything right away when I look at the Subaru article. I would add some ALT text to the images, and I am unsure if the alternate spelling needs to in the lead. I've only taken a year of Japanese, but from what I remember, the ō symbol automatically means ou so it is more of a difference in translation, which I do not think is notable enough to mention in the lead. Otherwise, best of luck with the article, and I enjoy seeing your work. I wouldn't give up completely on the Subaru Sumeragi article, but I understand what you mean. From the Akudama Drive episode list, I have only seen Se7en, The Shining, and Black Rain (and I am referring to the Japanese movie, not the other two films. I am going to be taking a short break from Wikipedia now that my recent FAC has been promoted to focus on off-Wiki work. Re: the subtitle of Kind Words[edit]
Hi, you stated that the subtitle of the video game Kind Words was not unnecessary and reverted my edit. However, many WP:RS refer to the game simply as Kind Words. See here and here. Per WP:SUBTITLE, the subtitle of the game does not seem "central" to the work and should therefore be removed due to WP:CONCISE.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 04:44, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm: Thank you for the response. I have reverted it back to your edit. I still think it is weird and slightly misleading to not refer to the game by its true name as I would think that if an article was created, there could be a note about how the title was often shortened in publications about it. That's just my opinion though, and Wikipedia policy would outweigh that. There are some sources that use the full name like The Escapist and GamesRadar+, but admittedly, most sources seem to prefer the shorter version. Aoba47 (talk) 04:56, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
