• @SNUGGUMS: Thank you for the message. I will look through the article and put up some comments next week if that is okay with you. I have actually never seen this movie so hopefully that will help with my review lol.

• Here are a few quick things though for now. I would encourage you to archive your citations as link rot and death can be annoying. I do not believe the article covers any academic analysis on the film (and apologies if I somehow overlooked this), and after doing a brief Google Scholar search, I found some coverage there. The final thing is I think the lead could use some work and I would avoid having it be just a single paragraph.

• I hope this is helpful and I look forward to reading the article. I am also surprised the Kelly Clarkson line is not referenced at all as it is still discussed today (like this recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show). Aoba47 (talk) 00:13, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

You've given a helpful start for sure :). Sadly, I have no idea how to create archives for links, so somebody else will have to take care of that aspect. Adding that Kelly Clarkson bit isn't a problem, and I'll be sure to look more into analysis of the movie. • There is actually a bot that helps with archiving references, but I would be more than happy to do the archiving when I read through the article. I am extremely grateful for the editor (or group of editors) who made this bot because archiving citations manually can be rather annoying and time-consuming lol. The bot can be a little finicky at times so if it is not working, I'd try again later (and again, I would be more than happy to do this part). I do not mind spoilers, but I appreciate the heads-up! How are you doing?

Long time no see. How are you doing? Lately, I've been watching movies from Eastwood and Michael B. Jordan. Also, I used to watch that sitcom Friends as a kid so I watched its tv special. In regards to articles, I've managed to make some Danganronpa articles GA and recently nominated Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The third game probably has one of the most controversial endings in gaming narrative considering every breaks the fourth wall and experience catharsis as they realize they are fictional characters created to suffer because they blame the gamers who bought the titles just to see them suffer. I'm not making this up. It was a really the strangest gaming experience since the ending of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty where Raiden is subtly revealed to be the player's avatar to the point he throws away the the player's name in the ending. Also, I tried expanding a more peaceful but sad series named To Your Eternity which I also aim to make it GA. In case you have free time could you give it a look? • @Tintor2: Thank you for your message. I am pretty good. I am just trying to be more productive with everything. How are you? Surprisingly enough, I do not think I have seen a film with either Clint Eastwood or Michael B. Jordan lol (although I am sure they are both quite good). I am a big fan of Friends, but I have not watched the reunion as I do not have an HBO Max subscription (and I am not exactly in a rush to get another streaming subscription).

• The Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair ending somewhat reminds me of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, in which the characters find out they are really living in a MMO (but it does not blame the player for this). It is an interesting idea for sure, but it does not sound fun (at least) to me to play. Even I am a big fan of visual novels and adventure games, I for some reason never became interested in the Danganronpa franchise so I will pass on that one.

• With all of that being said, I will check out To Your Eternity and provide any comments for that one. Where would you like to me to leave any comments I have for the article? I will also do some copy-edits, but I will leave very clear edit summaries and you can revert anything you disagree with. The basic concept (an immortal being who takes on multiple forms) reminds me of a Virginia Woolf book (Orlando: A Biography), but I bet a lot of people have used that idea in some way. If possible, I would greatly appreciate any feedback for my current FAC, which is on a very (and I mean very) obscure sitcom. I understand if you do not have the time or interest, and I will still help out with To Your Eternity regardless. I hope you are having a great start to your week. No problem. By the way, do you know if the Fight Club novel was too different from the movie? I remember than in that Danganronpa game, a character briefly encountered the protagonist saying that he reminds him of a novel where the main character believed he was a good guy but ended up being the main villain instead, but he doesn't mention the actual book due to avoid spoiling him. In the game's ending, it is revealed that the main character was one of the main villains in the entire visual novel and I wondered if there are other books that play a similar twist.Tintor2 (talk) 20:26, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Danganronpa 2 became GA. I still haven't nominated To Your Eternity but by god that series actually made me cry (no kidding). Also, remember Akudama Drive? I've been expanding the article and found notes about how the series was primarily inspired by Reservoir Dogs while the ending was based on Leon: The Professional (Jean Reno and Natalie Portman). Still, I'm kinda confused in regards to what to do with the plot summary. Should it be placed in the episode list or in the plot section? I never worked in such a small series. • @Tintor2: I would use the "Plot" section to provide an overview of the show's storylines and leave the more detailed aspects to the "Episodes" list. The list could be used to cover how the plot points are paced through the show from episode to episode. There will be cross-over, but that's how I normally worked it out. I hope this helps. I would love to work on articles outside of my comfort zone, and poetry is definitely that for me. I will not be doing it anytime in the future as I already have a FAC up (and a second one lined up for after that), but I wanted to do some reading to have at least some understanding of what an article should look like. The caption should mention that this is a painting and say when it was created to provide the full context to the reader. To Your Eternity

The article To Your Eternity went GA! Thanks for the help. Now I'm planning bring either Darker than Black or Akudama Drive as GAs when their copyedit is finished. The former is a mixture between spy films (most importantnly 007) and ninja stories. I think I already told you about Akudama once as it's an action series made by the same writer as Danganronpa but focused more on tributes to many action films, most notably Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs. Favorite Son (Star Trek: Voyager)

I've taken a long hard look at your work and learned from it and gotten ideas about what I could do better in other Star Trek episode articles. It is a substantially better put together article another {{Featured article}} These Are the Voyages... and it is a rare thing to see a Star Trek article of such high quality.

I am particularly interested to see if I can learn to use newspapers.com to take snippets about ratings information from newspaper such as the Los Angeles Times or USA Today. That could be very useful if I decide to edit more Deep Space Nine episode articles. I am aware that source access is not a requirement but it is so much better when editors or readers can easily verify or get more detail, that's a big part of why I made the effort to figure out the awkward and the interview from Marvin V Rush and also the Cinefantastique reference.[1] (Please note that I deliberately included the search text in the URL as it highlights the relevant part of the page to readers, and it is not session junk that the {{cite web}} documentation urges editors to remove from references.) I am frequently disappointed when inaccessible book sources don't include quoted text, and I'm left wondering if I've misunderstood the indented meaning.

Nonetheless I believe there's room for improvement even in Featured articles. Reading the text out loud will often make weaknesses in the prose more obvious. My brief experiences with Simple Wikipedia has taught me to think about word choices and sentences a lot more than most editors. Also I feel strongly that it is often unnecessary to explicitly name and date sources directly in the article text if it can be avoided. (For reviews it is usually necessary. If opinions have changed over time then maybe dates need to be emphasized, but usually not.) I'm hyper-aware of this and it is something I actively try to avoid because I mostly edit the lowest quality articles which fall into the trap of

• In YYYY publication said "quote"

or pseudo-list paragraphs doing the same thing. I understand why you removed the Staff byline from the citation[2] but in principle I believe a generic staff byline is still better than an unknown "empty box" that might lead someone to think there might be an author but that I had neglected to fill it in.

If you'd like to critique my flawed efforts I'd be happy to have someone cast a critical eye over Carbon Creek (Star Trek: Enterprise). For example, I already know the intro needs a rewrite and there are bits I am reluctant to remove even though I should know better and there are parts I will probably need to rewrite but I've been staring at it too long and I'm less and less able to see the issues I'm sure still exist.

I thought it might be worth a more detailed explanation than the edit summary box allows but if you disagree with any of my changes I welcome further discussion on the article talk page. -- 109.79.169.58 (talk) 18:39, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

You might have already run across this, but I would encourage you to read this resource (Wikipedia:RECEPTION) as it is quite helpful. I prefer to not have a generic Staff byline as I do not think it is helpful. From my understanding, there is not an absolute rule either way on this as long as it stays consistent throughout the article.
• It is always good to get multiple opinions. I will try to look through the "Carbon Creek" article in the near future. I know exactly what you mean as I have read over a lot of very (and I mean very) silly mistakes in articles that I have contributed to. I think understand your reasons and I'm not going to add the staff byline back in, I'm merely highlighting the difference between someone thinking that empty is equivalent to unknown, whereas a staff byline is generic but at least it is something non-zero. (I'm half waiting for the point in the future when someone comes along with a trained AI that can take the same inputs and write better articles.) There's some prose I could rewrite but I need to ruminate over the idea a bit longer to make sure I'm changing it for a good reason and not just because I prefer things done a certain way. I'm much more cautious about making changes to Featured articles but I don't think they're sacred or anything. I'm reasonably familiar with MOS:TVRECEPTION I had not read the essay at Wikipedia:RECEPTION specifically but I'm familiar with the ideas. There are times where I would include the sources in the text but only when absolutely necessary (it rarely seems necessary to highlight that a quote came in the form of a Twitter message). Even if comments from Cast or Crew are in the Reception section they still seem much more like Production and background information.

I abandoned my account a long time ago, the deletionists took a lot of the fun out of it. I never entirely stopped editing though, and I've had a lot of extra time indoors recently. I was never interested in barnstars anyway, and I think not having an account makes it easier to keep articles discussions on the relevant article Talk page. • Thank you for your response. It is always good to see how different editors use Wikipedia differently from one another. I can understand your rationale as well. I created the "Cast and crew response" subsection as I believe the cast and crew's opinions, which are all done after the episode, are separate from the episode's production. I do not really see a reason for merging this information into the larger "Production" section, but I would be more than happy to hear your opinion on it. It is important to open to change and to not get too attached. I was mostly trying to organize information in a way that would be the easiest for the reader to follow and would provide a sense of coherency throughout the article.
• I agree that featured articles should never be viewed as sacred (as they are not by any means), but I am also cautious about making edits to them as I want to be as respectful to the original writers and editors and their work as possible. I think we differ somewhat as I do enjoy the community aspect of Wikipedia and I think having an account does help with that (although it is not entirely necessary). I have been fortunate enough to work with great editors that I can hopefully learn from so I can grow as an editor myself. I am sorry to hear about your experience with deletionists, but I am happy that you are editing in the way that best suits you. That is what really matters at the end of the day. Small question

• @Tintor2: Thank you for the message. That is a good question. The article already has an image (File:Hokusai-sketches---hokusai-manga-vol6-crop.jpg) in its "Influences" section so I would either keep that one or replace it with another. I do not think the section is long enough to support two images, and the ninja image is already rather large anyway.
• You know the material best so you would know what James Bond image would work best for the article. After reading the article, it seems like the inspiration is from the James Bond films, not the stories. Does Okamura specify which James Bond he was inspired by? The character was played by six different actors and each of their versions are quite different from one another. If he does not, then I would not add a James Bond image as there would not be enough information to include an appropriate image. He doesn't specify an specific James Bond though. The composer did say that she was given the task of themes from 70s so I am confused too. I removed the image. • Thank you for the response. Since he does not specify which James Bond, I would err on the side of caution and not include a Bond image. I would not be surprised if they were inspired by general traits of the James Bond films as a whole so an image of any of the actors would not seem appropriate to me. I think it is a good idea to remove the ninja image if it is directly associate with the ninja manga being referenced. I do not think the article necessarily needs an image for either influence anyway as it can be conveyed through the prose alone and the article already has good images in other sections. Characterization and themes

Have you ever done these types of sections when writing character articles? I created Hei (Darker than Black)#Characterization and themes based on some analysis from different books and a university article. It's new territory for me so I don't know if certain parts are well organized. Also, something that confused me when writing this was the concept "posthuman noir" involving character writing among other examples like Deckard from Bladerunner. • @Tintor2: Thank you for your message. I will start with the second part. The phrase "posthuman noir" is not referencing a singular concept. Instead, it is actually referring to two different things (i.e. posthuman and film noir. Posthuman is a concept in science-fiction, and stories like Blade Runner have combined that with traditionally noir elements.

• I do have experience with character articles with this type of section. Unfortunately, I just do not have the time to really read through the section from your article and provide any meaningful comments. I am already in the middle of doing multiple reviews for other editors, and after I am done with those, I am planning on taking a break from reviewing as I am feeling burnt out. Album tracks have been promoted to FA status, like "Missing My Baby", and I have even worked on an article on an album track in the FA/FAC space with "Drake Would Love Me". I do not think that specific part of the FA criteria would be an issue. You could always try doing a peer review before a FAC.
