Thanks[edit]

Thank you for re-adding your concern at that AFD. I appreciate it. It's helpful for that editor to see that I'm not the only person who objects their approach to AFD, as will it be helpful if I ever escalate things to ANI if he refuses to stop over time. I understand the desire to stay out of arguing or "drama", so its fine if/when you don't want to get involved, but I wanted you to know that I do appreciate it when you do. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 16:31, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Sergecross73: Thank you for your comment. I added the note as I have encountered that user several times in previous AfD discussion in which he or she relies on his or her own personal opinions and beliefs rather than Wikipedia policy, and I wanted to repeat it again to this person. I highly doubt that this user will pay any attention to this note due to my past experience with him or her. If this ever escalates to ANI (which I hope it does not), then feel free to let me know and I can provide some links to previous AfD discussions in which I disagreed with how the user handled the situation. I just work about causing drama or instigating an argument as that is not my intention. Thank you for your kind words as it makes me feel a lot better about the situation. Aoba47 (talk) 16:48, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • No problem. Indeed, the user doesn't listen to me either, but its always good to document issues and opposition in case an ANI case is necessary someday. Luckily, ANI may not be necessary - their stance, every time I've been involved, has been entirely disregarded, so I'm hoping that alone will motivate them to stop. Its their bad nominations that bother me - that's the stuff I feel truly wastes people's time, and as a result, is most disruptive. Anyways, again, thanks for your good efforts at AFD regardless! Sergecross73 msg me 17:24, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for your response and kind words. I agree that the bad nominations are really the things that bother me too, as that really is disruptive. Thankfully, at least in my experience, the people running the AfD discussions have been really good with keeping things under control. Aoba47 (talk) 17:28, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ellen Pompeo[edit]

Although it's strictly optional, would you have time to review it for GA?. Thanks either way. NumerounovedantTalk 17:12, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for picking up my latest project for review. I have to admit that it is rough around the edges since I wrote it all of it in roughly a day and a half so I am looking forward to your feedback. I greatly enjoyed working on the project (who would have guessed there was so much on such a minor character lol). I will definitely pick up your article for review. I will try to have my comments up by the end of the weekend at the latest. Aoba47 (talk) 18:34, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, Pompeo's article might not be the finest either. I'll try to improve as we go on, kindly bear with on this one. NumerounovedantTalk 18:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • No worries; I might actually put up my first round of comments in a few minutes if that is okay with you. I have a few suggestions on how to make certain parts of a little better, and would definitely like to help in any way to improve the article. Thank you for bearing with me too. Aoba47 (talk) 19:10, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I am sorry I am not going to be able to make any edits here for a couple of days. I'll get to both the GARs as soon as I can. I hope there's no hurry? NumerounovedantTalk 19:24, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Take as much time as you need; there is absolutely no rush. I hope you have a wonderful next couple of days. I think I will be taking a break from Wikipedia for the next couple of days too. Aoba47 (talk) 19:27, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Aoba47, can you go through the plot section here and let me know how you feel? It's been a really tricky part to write. I would really appreciate a fresh set of eyes, and someone not familiar with the story to go through it once. Thanks either way. NumerounovedantTalk 18:17, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for the message; I will go through the plot section of the article sometime before the end of today. If I have any questions about it, then I will post them here if that is okay with you (or I can post them to the article's talk page if you prefer me to do it that way). Aoba47 (talk) 18:34, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Everything looks pretty solid; it sounds like a good movie and I may check it out in the future. I am a little confused by "This layers" as I am not sure what that means. Also, in the phrase "to which Sahil responds initially", could you please clarify the response? Does Sahil initially respond positively the advance? It is made clear that he was resisting in the next sentence as it is an instance of rape, but I think the phrase could be revised to be stronger. Other than that, I think that everything is pretty clear and straightforward to me. Aoba47 (talk) 19:06, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, as I said because of the complexities of the plot, it's a little difficult to put things into words. As for the rape scene, when Jai kisses Sahil it is evident that the latter reciprocates the feelings but is bound by his loyalty to his boyfriend. He also insists that "this isn't what Jai wants". But, Jai being the physically stronger of the two forces himself upon Sahil leading to the "rape". It's a little like the first sex scene from the Brokeback Mountain? Can you think of any better way to put the whole instance. Oh and the movie's on Netflix if you want to check it out. It's really unlike anything that comes out of Indian cinema. NumerounovedantTalk 19:19, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I will definitely have to check it out; I would add something along the lines that Sahil initially reciprocates Jai's feelings, but resists him due to his loyalty to his boyfriend or something along those lines. Also, it sounds like a pretty clear example of rape, even if Jai is a sympathetic character (rape narratives are always complicated). I still have yet to watch Brokeback Mountain so I have to watch both of these movies sometime in the future lol. Aoba47 (talk) 19:23, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, I'll see what i can do. Also, I couldn't help but think of the time that you mentioned the long list of movies/series that you have to watch and if Brokeback Mountain's on it, i can imagine how long the list is. 😂 NumerounovedantTalk 19:31, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It definitely is an exceptionally long list lol. Aoba47 (talk) 19:32, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Severine[edit]

Hey Aoba, so I saw the article you wrote on Severine (don't know how to put the tones in my keyboard). As always you have done amazing work. I just wanted to let you know that I noticed that the actress states she based her performance on the Joker from "The Dark Knight Rises", the third film in the trilogy. I'm not sure if the source itself made the mistake, but the actual film with the Joker in it is the second one "The Dark Knight" (2008). PanagiotisZois (talk) 18:51, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for pointing this out. The source and the actress both cite the correct film, but I accidentally put in the incorrect. I have corrected it now. Not sure what I was thinking when I typed that out lol. Aoba47 (talk) 19:07, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Runaway baby[edit]

Thank you for reviewing the article and yes I hope we can work more often again in the future. If you need anything just let me know.

I meant to ask you something. If a song is released in only one country is it still a single? I have no date or anything else, the song had haevy rotation on radio and the label decided to released it as a single there. However, they didn't provide any dates. WHat's your opinion on this matter? Just ping me or leave a message on my talk page.

Cheers, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:20, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • @MarioSoulTruthFan: Thank you for your kind words and it was a pleasure to review the article. I would say that if a song was sent out to radio and heavily promoted in a similar fashion to a single, that it would count as a single (just one that received very limited promotion). It can be pretty difficult now to pin down exactly what constitutes a single given the current market of streaming where pretty much any album track can get major attention. Hope this helps a little. Aoba47 (talk) 19:45, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It does help a bit. That's when it gets easier, you see this song was only heavily promoted in one country. It was "released" back when streaming wasn't a force like today. Around late 2010/early 2011. This is the song. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:18, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • It seems like a single to me. Aoba47 (talk) 02:45, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks mate. I just don't know to point it out in the discography should be stated "Only released in Brazil" ?. I don't have the date for it so in the wiki page of the album should be between singles "The Lazy Song" and "Marry You" (August release), as it was announced in June/July as the next single? Sorry to bother you. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:29, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • You are not a bother so don't worry about it. A note in the discography would seem appropriate (just as long as there is a source to support this information). I would put the single where you think it fits best in the chronology as you would know better. This can be somewhat difficult as the times/releases for singles can overlap, especially for those with limited releases. Single releases can get pretty messy sometimes, even with the major artists and labels lol. Aoba47 (talk) 21:44, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Should I use the date given in the warner source for the album and single release? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:34, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would imagine that would be acceptable so I would suggest using the date from that source. Aoba47 (talk) 17:59, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is the source [1]. Its portuguese, but you can traslante it quite easily and the date is above.MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 23:48, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks good to me. I would recommend using that source. Aoba47 (talk) 01:18, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I know but I was takking about the date, does it look good to you? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:15, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On 14 May 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mother's Day (Rugrats), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Rugrats episode "Mother's Day" addressed the absence of Chuckie Finster's mother by revealing that she had died of a terminal illness? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mother's Day (Rugrats). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Mother's Day (Rugrats)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Could you possibly take a look at video game walkthrough?[edit]

Hi there, I was wondering if you could possibly take a look at video game walkthrough and let me know if you see any improvements that could be made? It is currently rated as C class, I would like to get it to B class and, after that, GA class. I am wondering what it is possibly missing to reach those classes (if anything). Thank you for your time and help. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 00:18, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I can definitely help out with your project. It is actually really interesting and fun to read about these types of things on Wikipedia (I have a mountain of video game walkthrough books from my childhood). I will post some comments in a few days as it will take me some time to gather my thoughts. If I do not put my comments by the end of next week, please ping/message me as a reminder. Also, let me know if you would prefer for me to put my comments on here (my talk page) or on the talk page for the article (under a separate and new section). Good luck with your work on this! • Anytime, and I will ping you when I put my comments up. Aoba47 (talk) 04:38, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @TheSandDoctor: Here are some comments that I noticed while reading through the article; I hope this helps:
  • I am not sure about the use of the references in the lead as all of that information should be sourced and fully explained in the body of the article so I would avoid putting references in the lead.
  • I would suggest expanding on the lead to make sure that it covers all of the parts from the article.
  • This article is covering a lot of information as the term "video game walkthrough" can reference the text guide or video streaming I would think that presenting the information in a more chronological order (i.e. fully discussing the text walkthroughs and then going into the advent of video walkthroughs) would be easier for the reader to follow rather than going back and forth between the different mediums.
  • To the best of my knowledge, a video walkthrough and a play-through are two separate things, with a walkthrough being a more comprehensive approach to the game and the play-through just being the person playing the game and not completing it 100% or providing a more informational/instructional approach. In the phrase "commonly referred to as video walkthroughs or play-throughs", you make it sound like these two words are interchangeable, which is not true at least from my experience.
  • The Media data and Non-free use rationale for the Mario walkthrough image needs to be completed; there are some parts that are not filled in. I am also not a huge fan of how the image cuts across multiple sections, but that is a more stylistics choice.
  • You could include some information longplay or speedruns if you feel it is appropriate. I would also imagine that a little more information on Let's Plays would be appropriate. I have never worked on an article like this before so feel free to do what you think is best.
  • The article is really good. I fully admit that I am not an expert on this type of article at all. I hope these comments help somewhat and good luck with working further on this article. Aoba47 (talk) 18:26, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My peer review[edit]

Hi, I know I'm supposed to wait for an interested editor to respond to an article I submitted for a peer review. But will it trouble you if I ask for your comments? I've had two articles requested for PR before only to get archived by a bot months later. It's an article I plan to push for the FA status, Drive (2011 film). What do you say, interested? It doesn't have to be today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow; whenever you like. Here's the page. Thanks a bunch. Bluesphere 08:14, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will add some comments by the end of the week if that is okay with you. Aoba47 (talk) 22:50, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. Thanks for giving this a chance. Bluesphere 05:55, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Bluesphere: Hello again. I just wanted to let you know that I will be taking an extended break from Wikipedia following the conclusion of my current FAC and will only be coming back on here intermittently in case any one picks up my two open GA nominations. I have a lot of off-line work to get done, and I have been doing a lot of work on Wikipedia since joining here roughly a year ago so I think a break is in order for me. I apologize that I cannot be much help with your peer review, but the article does look very strong from my brief reading of it. Hope you are having a wonderful start to your week. Aoba47 (talk) 22:25, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see, completely understandable. Thanks, anyway. Bluesphere 03:36, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Bluesphere: Just wanted to let you know that I have provided some comments on your peer review as I felt bad about initially accepting and then refusing (as I reached my decision to take a break from active work on here after answering your question). I hope that my comments help, and good luck with the project. Aoba47 (talk) 15:49, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
