Fleur Delacour

[edit]

Hi, i was just wondering about your rationale for the making the changes you did. Her birthday is generally accepted[1] among fans.

The reason i changed the Grandmother statement is that i felt it was better not to clutter the opening paragraph with too much info. The details of her family are built upon in the first 'background' paragraph. I was attempting to get the article to read "Fleur is a quarter Veela..." althought i made a mistake. oops. If i were to make (a correct version of :) that edit, would you go along with that?

I think it's much better to phrase that sentence in terms of what Fleur is, rather than introducing other women because that makes the following "her"s slightly ambiguous/ confusing. Amo 19:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll change the opener to "one quarter veela etc" later tonight, unless you want to do it first. I don't want to include the birthdate if it's something wikipedians have agreed not to do (thanks for the heads up about that - i had no idea :), but i do think it creates an argument for linking to something like her lexicon profile as there is such basic info that isn't in the article here. By the way, if you type four of these ~ at the end of a message, it adds your name and the date/ time etc. It took me ages to work that out :( Amo 19:57, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Infanta Sofía of Spain

[edit]

My bot changed the wikilink to italian version because the italian article name is "Infanta Sofia di Borbone-Spagna". The name "Infanta Sofía di Spagna" is a redirect to that name. So the bot was exactly doing what is programmed for even on that page ;D Anyway, for now in this case (and in the future too) please feel free to add the {{nobots}} template on that page. No more bots will edit the page anymore ;) For the explanation look at Template:Bots, regards. --Alleborgo (talk) 09:03, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback request

[edit]

Hello Ariadne55, I have granted your request for rollback. Please remember, however, that rollback should only be used to revert vandalism, and that using it for reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war will most likely lead to having the tool removed. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 16:55, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Renaming of Jenna Bush

[edit]

I noticed your comments on Talk:Jenna Bush regarding her name change following her marriage to Henry Hager, and I wanted to let you know that I have proposed that the article should be renamed from Jenna Bush to Jenna Bush Hager. See the article's Talk page for further details. --TommyBoy (talk) 01:32, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I've only seen "Jenna Hager" on the White House website, not "Jenna Bush Hager". So it appears that Jenna prefers to go without the middle name.
As for Ariadne55's reverts to my edits, it may be in violation of WP:BLP, which reads in part, "The burden of evidence for any edit on Wikipedia, but especially for edits about living persons, rests firmly on the shoulders of the person who adds or restores the material." My edits complied with WP:BLP, which does not require Talk page consensus before correcting obvious errors (i.e., Jenna never uses the last name Bush anymore, so it is an obvious error). Ariadne55 reverted all those edits due to my not having used a preferred method WP:MOVE, which is fine. But what I take exception to is that Ariadne55 did not then issue the WP:MOVE to "Jenna Hager". By restoring material to Jenna Bush, "the burden of evidence ... rests firmly on [Ariadne55's] shoulders". To my knowledge, Ariadne55 provided no such evidence, in violation of WP:BLP. Please advise if I am mistaken. Thanks.
Please note that I do not object to using WP:MOVE. Now that I know about it, I will use it in the future. What I am objecting to is Ariadne55 not using it immediately after reverting my edits, to restore the article name to "Jenna Hager". As it was, Ariadne55's edits in effect changed the name of the article from "Jenna Hager" to "Jenna Bush", in contravention of Jenna's obvious wishes, and without satisfying Ariadne55's requisite burden of justification. Thanks again. --Art Smart (talk) 12:55, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note: Discussion continued at User talk:Arthur Smart#Jenna move and ultimately WT:NCP#Is "most generally recognisable" in conflict with BLP?. --Art Smart (talk) 09:24, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Swimsuit templates

[edit]

As a leading editor at Heidi Klum you may have an interest in the debate at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2008_June_27 regarding swimsuit issue templates.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 01:23, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beyonce

[edit]

I don't know much about legal stuffs on marriage and names etc so thank you for clearing out to this newbie. Had you not supported my talk their, I would clarify then to him that per WP:BLP, Knowles or any closest relative of Knowles should confirm, reported by a reliable source, that the marriage was true and that her name was changed. Thanks again. --Efe (talk) 07:53, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
