The article William J. Jordan has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at William J. Jordan. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. The article in question was started by someone else 274th FST (ABN), it was started on a separate computer but edited by that user on my laptop because my laptop was the only available computer at the time. It is quite possible I didn't log off before surrendering my laptop to him and the page was edited by ArmyOrtho. I was not editing an autobiographical work. The creator of the page copied the information from my Change of Command Biography. Regardless, the page has been deleted by the original author as a Conflict of Interest. [edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with 274th Forward Surgical Team (Airborne). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Didn't realize I had removed it. My apologies. Won't happen again. ArmyOrtho (talk) 10:53, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
ArmyOrtho, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi ArmyOrtho! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
ArmyOrtho (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am not abusing multiple accounts. We are using community computers. Sadly, in Eastern Afghanistan we don't have enough computers for every person to have their own, so we are forced to share. Some times we work on the same project. 274th FST (ABN) is a completely different person than ArmyOrtho. He's currently sitting in the chair right next to me. Please be so kind as to un-block this account so I may continue editing the page I was working on. ArmyOrtho (talk) 11:02 am, Today (UTC+0)
Accept reason:
Whilst I'm still somewhat concerned about the possibilty of collusive editing, I think an unblock is reasonable in this case. Please be aware that we treat multiple individuals acting in concert as though they were a single user operating multiple accounts, so in order to avoid blocking in future I would suggest that you and 274th FST (ABN) try to avoid working extensively on the same pages. Ahh, I got you. That's exactly what we were doing. Didn't know it was frowned upon. I'll be sure to spread the word that no one touches the page but me. That still leaves us with the issue of limited computers and several people wishing to put their "two cents" in on the Deletion Page for the 274th Forward Surgical Team. Thanks for your help. Sorry to be a bother. ArmyOrtho (talk) 11:14, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'd be seriously wary of getting others to pile on at the AFD discussion; that's pretty much a guranteed route to getting every new commentator tagged and blocked as a meatpuppet. The case is pretty borderline, but a series of single-purpose new accounts commentating will derail the discussion completely, and will probably see your account locked down as well. Sorry to be a pain about it; I'm genuinely trying to give you the most helpful advice I can (FWIW, I reckon the article on (your?) unit should stay, but I'm just one guy...) Yunshui 雲水 10:01, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- I understand. Once I looked up what a meatpuppet was, I explained the same to the guys here. I don't anticipate any further input from anyone in my area on the article. ArmyOrtho (talk) 11:46, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
