Thích Quảng Đức color image

I've undone your upload of the color version to File:Thích Quảng Đức self-immolation.jpg for several reasons. As far as I can tell, black-and-white one is the original by Malcolm Browne, with the colorizing done by someone else later. Therefore, the b&w one we have to use for the aricle about the photographer (since it's about his image itself, not the subject of the image). The colorized one is by "someone else" based on the b&w one, so it might have other uses, but would need to go at a separate filename, with correct source and licensing for the colorizer as well. However, the b&w one is also sufficient to convey the ideas of self-immolation and other aspects that the other image-uses need. Colorizing is nice but excessive, therefore could fail the low-res requirement of WP:NFCC policy. That is, the color is a non-free derivative of a non-free original, so we need origin and rationale to support this second-level need to break the license. See [1] for lots of info about this image's various formats. DMacks (talk) 18:01, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

That's okay. - Rahat | Message 18:49, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi, first time when Dr Khair was abducted, it might be Pakistani Army itself instead of the Al-Badr force. Second or the last time, it is for sure Al-Badr. Can you please cross-check? Thanks. Kaisernahid (talk) 06:16, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for the mistake. I have reverted the edit. Would you please check the proposal on Talk: Dr Abul Khair. - Rahat | Message 06:21, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

A single picture in info box is not enough for such a great event. A photomontage is much required! Do you have enough pictures with copyright permission? If yes then please try it! Thanks -Samudrakula (talk) 20:12, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

I don't have any. I think we can contact with User:Drik001 who is probably the person Shahidul Alam, the founder of Drik Gallery and currently holds the copyright of most of the photos of Bangladesh Liberation War for OTRS permission for some of them. - Rahat | Message 03:42, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Reply to the revert of Tarique Rahman

What's wrong with those line?

Zubaida Rahman is a physician worked in the government. She attained her MBBS with commendable result from Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, she completed her MSc in Preventive Cardiology from Imperial College School of Medicine by securing the first place among the students from at least 55 countries.

Here I give you some references. http://www.poriborton.com/article_details.php?article_id=34117 http://www.dhakatribune.com/politics/2013/oct/13/they-now-bat-around-not-bringing-back-tarique-home http://www.natunbarta.com/english/national/2013/10/12/10011

Now please stop reverting without any substantial reason. We are working with a purpose for Mr. Tarique. He himself has approved these information about his life to us.

Thanks.

Thanks user:Endeavorbd for your edits, but remember the article is about Tarique Rahman, not his wife Zobaida Rahaman, so huge praising details is unnecessary and also violates WP:POV. You can see we have very little information of Tarique's educational life hence info of his wife is valueless here. - Rahat | Message 15:39, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

January 2014

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Noor Hossain a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Noor Hossain (cricketer). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. 70.50.148.122 (talk) 04:40, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello,

Hows it going Rahat. Is that a waterfall behind Nazrul in this picture? --Bazaan (talk) 00:48, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello Bazaan, I was busy with my studies so could not contribute in wiki for a month. I know that it is a real waterfall behind Nazrul. This picture was taken at Sitakunda Eco park in 1929. A sculpture of Nazrul, same as the picture was later built there. I visited that park twice. -- Rahat (Talk * Contributions) 03:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Nice, but since Sitakunda dosen't fall under the city of Chittagong, I can't use it in the article. Thought the waterfall background perfectly captured Chittagong in that picture. On a separate note, can you tell me the source for that table on religions in the demography section? Is the Christian community only 0.11%? I rather heard figures of somewhere around 1-3%. I mean the city is home to the oldest Christian community in the region! --Bazaan (talk) 20:36, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Shironamhin, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Irish, Mandira and Rainmaker (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Ctg4Rahat. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Aguner Poroshmoni, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Xpctr8 (talk) 02:30, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aguner Poroshmoni cover.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Aguner Poroshmoni cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:53, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
