University of Chittagong

Why did you reverse my AWB changes on the University of Chittagong?--15:15, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Your edit was good. Thanks for that. But I reverted the unsourced false information by Achyut Kumar Bhattarai. As I am living in Chittagong I know that at present there is no foreign student in Chittagong University. And your AWB edit corrected the word Srilanka from Achyut Kumar's edit. - Rahat (Talk * Contributions) 17:57, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

2014 Sundarbans oil spill

I saw your article 2014 Sundarbans oil spill when it was nominated for DYK, and the subject interested me. Looking around Wikipedia I found three stub articles on forestry reserves in the Sundarbans and I chose to expand Sundarbans East Wildlife Sanctuary. I am from the UK and the geography of Bangladesh is a mystery to me. Where did the oil spill occur in relation to this reserve, or is this sanctuary, as I think, further east than the Sela River and therefore unaffected by the oil spill. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:25, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi @Cwmhiraeth:, I have tried searching the co-ordinate of the Sundarbans East Wildlife Sanctuary but could not find. The exact coordinate of the oil spill location is 22.364047N, 89.667039E. I think it is situated far from the Sundarbans East Wildlife Sanctuary (per picture description) and unaffected by oil. Possibly the oil spill area is located at West Sanctuary. - Rahat (Message) 16:47, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the Google Earth link - I had not met Google Earth before, it is very clever. The oil spill seems to be further west than the Sundarbans East Wildlife Sanctuary. Thanks again. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:41, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
I think you are right, @Cwmhiraeth:. - Rahat (Message) 18:44, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello Ctg4Rahat, just writing to let you know I started a review of Bangladesh-Israel relations at DYK. I think the nomination looks pretty good but I had a couple comments which maybe you could check out, and a proposed re-wording of the hook. Thank you for contributing the article. AfD

I ended up nominating Rape jihad for deletion since there was just enough to where I could maybe see this speedy getting overturned at deletion review. I figure that if this gets deleted via this AfD then the page will be salted to prevent re-creation. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:03, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Philanthropy

REad how good he is

According to Naman Ramachandran, the author of Rajinikanth: The Definitive Biography, most of Rajinikanth's philanthropic activities went unpublicised because he did not want them to be so. Rajinikanth has given away half of his income to charities.[1] In the 1980s, when superstitious beliefs prevented a majority of people from donating eyes, Rajinikanth took the case of campaigning in support of corneal transplantation via television and public speeches.[2] In 2011, Rajinikanth announced his support for the anti-corruption movement led by Gandhian Anna Hazare and offered his marriage hall, the Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, in Chennai free of cost for the India Against Corruption members to hold their fast.[3][4] Rajinikanth's fan associations regularly organise blood donation and eye donation camps and distribute food during his birthday.[5]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 360factors, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. COI warning

Information icon Hello, Ctg4Rahat. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Per this dif you declared a COI on Premia Spine Limited. For Draft:Facet_joint_arthrosis you declared COI for here

Please clarify the nature of the COI, where you have declared it. Please note the statement about the Terms of Use above - you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation for paid editing. If you do not disclose per the Terms of Use, please know that I will bring you to ANI.

You ~appear to me~ to have a recent history (I have not gone back that far) of creating articles that appear to be me to be promotional (list below) and that I, with regret, suspect were also created as paid edits, and for which you have made no disclosures. This in combination with the work you do at AfC, bringing others' articles into mainspace, is worrisome to me. Most of the work appearing to be COI, appears to have started in fall 2014.

I cannot tell you how destructive many editors feel that paid editing - especially undisclosed paid editing - is to the public trust in Wikipedia, and how many scandals this has caused us, as well as clients and companies that do it. If you are not aware of this history, please see Conflict-of-interest editing on Wikipedia and especially the links to community discussions in the Further Reading section of that article. Please also see Wikipedia:Statement on Wikipedia from participating communications firms.

The WMF and english WP community allow paid editing in Wikipedia, but only if paid editors follow the Terms of Use.

You have sandboxes, each with a history of creation of article that appear promotional to me:

Some other things (a few repetitions here, sorry)

You seem like you do so much other great work here. This is really unfortunate. I urge you to start following WP:COI and the Terms of Use. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 13:40, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Dear Rahat, You have done good contribution to improve Wikipedia standard. Ibrahim Husain Meraj (talk) 03:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Failure to disclose employer, client, and affiliation

Looking at your contribs, you just went on a tear of adding "connected contributor" tags to the Talk page of articles, and removing the COI tag from the articles. Two problems:

  • The COI tag calls for independent editors to review the article for NPOV. do not remove the tag yourself again I have restored the tags.
  • The Terms of Use obligate you to disclose "employer, client, and affiliation for each paid edit. You have not done this.

Now that you are back to editing, if you do not disclose the employer, client, and affiliation for each of your paid edits, I will seek to have you site banned from Wikipedia.

As I mentioned above, there is a place for paid editing in WP, but you must be transparent about it and you must follow the COI guideline.
