Re:Sunil Chhetri

Yeah it just makes more sense with American soccer teams because most of the time, the sources are tardy in terms of player transactions or they don't update us at all. – Michael (talk) 04:58, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks bro
By the way why there is FB picture in Nathan Hall (football coach)?

Highlands!

Never thought I'd encounter another Highlander here on Wikipedia. I am not going to mention my actual name here but it is a bit curious if you had a sister in my grade, class of 2010. Who knows, maybe we might know each other in real life. There is another Northern Highlands alumni here on Wikipedia, an administrator named User:UtherSRG, but he graduated in 1986. Of course, my name came from Highlands and my graduating class as I did not think of another username to create, while Highlands has a long abbreviation. Other than us, I've seen other Highlanders on Wikipedia, but unfortunately, they are vandals. NHRHS2010 the student pilot 13:44, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah the fact that Wikipedia has an edit button allows people to easily edit, both good and bad. If anyone is giving you trouble here on Wikipedia, you can use WP:ANI to report incidents; additionally, you can simply report vandals on WP:AIV. People who use school IP addresses to do vandalism will cause school IPs to be blocked. On some cases, some cases of school IP vandalism can be reported to the school administration office. Who knows, maybe Mr. Koth and Occhino might get words that the school IP is being used abusively within Wikipedia. If you know the person who is causing trouble on the school computers you can feel free to report it to the school administrators. I used to fight vandalism years ago but I have become less active on Wikipedia as I have become busy (though on occasion I have still fought vandalism). NHRHS2010 the student pilot 19:03, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's good then, if it's not that bad of a vandalism, it can be known as a "test edit" and users who do a test edit might not even have any intention of vandalism. They still get warned though, but if it's their first edit they would get something like "welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia" followed by how they should use WP:Sandbox for future test edits. Churchill Brothers template - Reply

Yes my friend, i understand now. But please follow my reasoning: we only should add both names (even if first is just an initial) if there is more than one player with that surname, no point in having S.KUMAR when there is only one KUMAR, no point in having DANNIES. FERNANDES when D.FERNANDES is more than sufficing i think. I have re-arranged it to the best of my abilities.

NY/NJ Categorization for Red Bulls

Please stop adding New York in the category section of the Red Bull articles. I think you might be a little confused about terminology. Even though New York is in the team name, and they represent the New York metropolitan area (which consists of 3 states), it is not the same as being physically located in New York state. They are located in New Jersey. The team has NEVER played a home game in the state of New York, therefore the NY category is inappropriate and I have instead added the NJ categorization instead. If you look at the sports section of the New York state article, it goes out of its way to say that the Jets and Giants are not NY teams and the Buffalo Bills are the only NFL team in the state. Re: WP:GNG

The simple answer is I don't know. The problem with WP:GNG is that it's highly subjective. Significant coverage is not something easily define, but you recognise it when you see it. For me, if there is a critical mass of sources that I cannot easily reject either as trivial coverage or as not independent of the subject or other sources, I'll typically consider an article to be notable. K League Challenge

Even though two army teams plays in K League Challenge, the second division is acknowledged a fully professional league by Korea Football Association and a board of K League. If Sangju Sangmu promote to the K League Classic, does the top division become a none-professional league? Exactly not. K League Classic, the top division, is still a professional league even if any army team promote to the top tier. In the same vein, K League Challenge must be considered a fully professional league. It is just a distinctiveness of South Korea. z4617925 (talk) 04:56, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Go to AfD

If you think those tournamenst (well, I do not know about all of them, for now, let's consider Subroto Cup and B.C. Roy Trophy), if you think they do not meet GNG, please take them to AfD. Do not just blank the articles or redirect. If the decision in AfD is to redirect, then we'll happily redirect. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:31, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All the edits were correct. If you want proof then check www.mohunbaganac.com and www.sabujmaroonswapno.com. --Roahntheclassy (talk) 09:52, 4 September 2013 (UTC) The only thing I have done in the first team is that I have arranged them according to their jersey numbers and some players who were missing I have added them. And talking about the Honours section all those were also mentioned in East Bengal F.C. page. So I have added them to make the page look better.--Roahntheclassy (talk) 16:34, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's not my objective....Sometimes there may be mistake...I have seen such error in so much popular websites also like Times of India, ABP Ananda..But that does not ensure they are not reliable source..Links whatever I enlist here ensure reliable news...If they are wrong then you discard...Unless and Until you can not claim it is not reliable... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrinal nath (talkcontribs) 18:50, 15 September 2013 (UTC) www.kolkatafootball.com is not reliable source??? The article Majees FC has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be a duplication of Mjees, which itself may need moving, according to the RSSSF sources in the article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Karanveer Singh Grewal

Hi there. I thought your participation in deleting discussion had learned you that we shouldn't create articles like this for players that have made one single appearance as a substitute (in Grewal's case, he played a total of two minutes before he left the club). I've done some work to show that this guy meets GNG, but I'm hoping you can dig up some Indian sources. Rumour tells me that Harmeet Singh is big in India, so I guess this guy has to be aswell. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 12:04, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, now we have one more article about a Norwegian-Indian footballer. :) He is still young, so he might come back to a decent level in a couple of years. Playing at the second and third tier in Norway doesn't mean that he'll be forgotten, players at that level gets some coverage every now and then. NASL Results Map

I usually would find out who was updating the Results map, but Wikipedia is not allowing me to access any of the normal HTML methods. It is insisting on using its "new and approved" editing system and I have no clue on what that is asking me to do. Thanks in advance

Arsenal Template

FYI both Akpom and Bellerin have made appearances in the Arsenal First Team squad in the Premiership this season, not in a "competition meant for hybrid first/reserve teams". If Myron Fernandes qualifies for the template, how can two players that have played in the Premiership not qualify? Koncorde (talk) 22:28, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You ask where the consensus is - I noted in my edit summary that it was at WP:FOOTY. You and Limabeans are the only editors against the change, whilst at least six (possibly 7 if you count Egghead who referred to the Premier League source) seem to be for inclusion. Number 57 21:37, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't "meh" - your editing has been disruptive and you are incredibly lucky that you've not already been blocked, again. GiantSnowman 10:39, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will "meh" if I feel that in the end that a consensus has not been made. You know me, once a consensus has been made I will not go against it but in this case I doubt there was one. All I saw were people who said "yes" and "no". Where was the pros and cons? Where was the actual discussion? Where was the final answer? Even on AfD's at least we do a keep and delete thing in which there are debates and answers at the end... I did not see that here. If that did happen and the result was to add the "Premier League squad" then I would not go against it. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 11:57, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your alternative accounts

Please can you advise why FootballinIndiaWiki (talk · contribs) and IndianFootballPlayersWiki (talk · contribs) are required? GiantSnowman 10:43, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They were. I don't use them as much anymore. I will probably delete them when I can. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 10:45, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not an explanation. GiantSnowman 11:13, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I told you a long time ago. My watchlist was to big. Since then though I have adjusted and now I honestly don't care about a long watchlist. They are now not needed. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 19:15, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you want me to block them? GiantSnowman 10:51, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I would not have a problem with that. However, if I recall correctly, wont a block of the accounts also block my address and thus this account as well? I only use the connection I am on now so I just want to make sure before you do anything. Otherwise you have permission to block. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 21:41, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, there is an option to block the unerlying IP which can be not used. GiantSnowman 08:23, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just make sure to block the two accounts and nothing else please. Cheers mate. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 11:54, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for creation

There is an "Articles for creation" helper script gadget you can set in your preferences that does all the work needed to "accept" an AFC submission. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions for details. I temporarily moved the page back and used the script to accept the article. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
