Parliamentary constituencies[edit]

Thank you for your interest in improving constituency article Chittagong-15, but your recent change was not helpful and has been reverted. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there are conventions that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance.

The list of members of parliament in the article is just that, a list of MPs, not a list of elections. The convention for constituency articles throughout Wikipedia is not to list consecutive re-elections in the MPs table. See, for example Stewart Jackson in Peterborough (UK Parliament constituency), elected three times in succession, but listed just once in the table. A name should only be repeated from one row to the next if the politician's party has changed. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:54, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

One or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Bogra-5 did not appear to follow consensus, and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.
If you disagree with the way Wikipedia lists Members of Parliament in constituency articles, please discuss your reasons on a convenient talk page, such as Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elections and Referendums, or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bangladesh to establish consensus before making further similar bold changes. If you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:07, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do not edit war[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chittagong-15; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:34, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by AngusWOOF was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: I don't see how this is a useful split article as we don't have full statistics broken down by individual parties in general elections. We only retain collective statistics as shown by Democratic_Party_(United_States)#In_congressional_elections:_1950–present

Information icon Hello, I'm Vinegarymass911. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Vinegarymass911 (talk) 13:47, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello AshiqJamesBond, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Khandaker Delwar Hossain have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Vinegarymass911 (talk) 16:14, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

January 2019[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Khandaker Delwar Hossain. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. The voting records box needs citations Vinegarymass911 (talk) 16:15, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Shamsul Islam (politician) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Redwan Ahmed (politician). This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Vinegarymass911 (talk) 15:09, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at L. K. Siddiqi. Vinegarymass911 (talk) 15:17, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AshiqJamesBond. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "General election 1991 and 1996 of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CptViraj (talk) 08:56, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2019 election voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
