December 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Mississippi has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Alabama[edit]

Please discuss making major changes to articles on the article's talk page before making them; on the Alabama article your first edit removed almost half of the article and all of the in-text citations, which should be left in per WP:Verifiability. Thanks. AlexiusHoratius 17:41, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rhodesia[edit]

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Rhodesia, even if your ultimate intention is to fix them. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Mangwanani (talk) 17:42, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to the Wikipedia Manual of Style and WikiProject Former countries to see why your edits were reverted. They do not conform to Wikipedia standards. Mangwanani (talk) 17:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was not ignoring you - I simply have other things to do with my life other than sit on Wikipedia 24/7. Your edits do not conform to the Wikipedia Manual of Style. The language used is not encyclopedic for example: "RHODESIA (so named after Cecil Rhodes), an inland country and British possession in South Central Africa, bounded S. and S.W. by the Transvaal, the Bechuanaland Protectorate and German South-West Africa; W. by Portuguese West Africa. N.W. by Belgian Congo; N.E. by German East Africa; E. by the British Nyasaland Protectorate and Portuguese East Africa." Also, you write nonsense like "[Rhodesia is] larger than France, Germany and the Low Countries combined." Additionally, none of your statements are sourced or verified in any way, shape or form.
You have deleted valuable information in the article about the UDI, added irrelevant information about Bechuanaland in 1895 etc etc. The list goes on. There are things like: "The military force in Southern Rhodesia is styled the British South African Police, and numbers about 40 officers, 400 non-commissioned officers and men, and 550 native police." How can this be present tense?! Rhodesia does not exist anymore! Moreover, your "edits" do not conform with Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, for example: "The best-known and the most attractive of the Rhodesian ruins are those situated in the more central and southern region. In the north-east, however, the remains are even more numerous, though the single units are less remarkable."
If you are going to make such drastic edits, test them in your own Sandbox and discuss the edits on the article's talk page.
And on the subject of being "ignorant" I think that term may be appropriate to yourself as I certainly am not an "admin" - I'd get your facts straight first. Mangwanani (talk) 18:54, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just to add a comment, all of your edits to articles thus far appear to be nothing more than a copy/paste from http://www.1911encyclopedia.org. Doing so is a violation of the Wikipedia policy WP:COPYRIGHT, as all content on that site is copyrighted by LoveToKnow Corp. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:07, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other contributors, as you did with this edit to Wikipedia:Help desk. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. -- IRP 18:09, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
