There is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring that may involve you regarding the article Albania.--William Thweatt TalkContribs 00:56, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problems in editing the article Albania

[edit]
The Arbitration Committee has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions (information on which is at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions) on any editor who is active on pages broadly related to Eastern Europe, broadly interpreted, or to the Balkans, broadly interpreted. Albania is covered by both of those topic areas. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, satisfy any standard of behavior, or follow any normal editorial process. If you inappropriately edit pages relating to this topic, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The Committee's full decision can be read at the "Final decision" section of the decision page.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions, with the appropriate sections of Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Procedures, and with the case decision page before making any further edits to the pages in question. This notice is given by an uninvolved administrator and will be logged on the case decision, pursuant to the conditions of the Arbitration Committee's discretionary sanctions system.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Albania. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

In the following edits: [1], [2], [3], [4] not only were you edit warring, but you were also replacing text that agrees with the cited source ("Albania remains one of the poorest countries in Europe outside the former Soviet Union") with test that does not ("Albania remains one of the poorest countries in Europe"). Please be careful about that sort of thing. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:54, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Motorway 4

[edit]

Hi, are you sure that the picture you uploaded for Motorway 4 is actually of that motorway? As far as I understood from pages like this one, the national road between Trikala and Larissa (the number is not mentioned, but I suppose it's Greek National Road 6) is being upgraded. It could be the road that's shown on your photograph. On recent maps of existing and planned motorways, like this one, no motorway is indicated between Trikala and Larissa. Markussep Talk 10:15, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I am sure because i drove that road around 2-3 days ago when I took those photos :)The designation was E92. The road is mostly completeted except a few sections near Larissa.Astarti34 (talk) 16:44, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That it's designated as E92 does not mean that it's also Motorway 4. The European route E92 runs from Igoumenitsa to Volos, for most of its length over Greek National Road 6. If you didn't see signs similar to this one on Motorway 2 (Greece), but then saying "A4", it's probably not Motorway 4. Markussep Talk 17:15, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well maybe it was there but I didnt notice it. Whats important is that there is only one Motorway right now connecting Trikala to Larissa, and I was driving it for around 1 hour driving with 130km/h Therefore I dont think another one will be built. Therefore it's got to be Motorway 4. The designation was E92 which further confirms this.
I think that it's the upgraded Greek National Road 6 you drove on, and that there will be no Motorway 4. As I already said the designation E92 does not imply it's a motorway. If you still think it's Motorway 4, please find a reference, or take a picture of a sign next time you go there. BTW Trikala - Larissa is about 60 km, so the length of the motorway can't be right. Markussep Talk 18:02, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm reverting it back, since there is no evidence that this road is actually the Motorway 4. I suggest you leave it like this until you have found some evidence. Markussep Talk 09:04, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I really cant understand you. The evidence is what i have stated before. What kind of further evidence you want? On the other hand what evidence do YOU show that this is NOT Motorway 4? Astarti34 (talk) 16:50, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing you have proven is that the road between Trikala and Larissa is a dual carriageway. Furthermore you have said that it's designated E92, which I don't dispute. The only thing I ask of you is some evidence that this road is designated Motorway 4 and not EO6. I see this section is designated "4" on this map of the planned motorway network, but I have seen no references to a motorway 4 after 2008. Many plans have been changed since then. Markussep Talk 09:47, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My "evidence" is that on all map sites I tested today (Google Maps, Openstreetmap, ViaMichelin, Mapquest, Bing Maps) this road is designated "6", "EO6" and/or "E92", never "4". And of course several articles on http://www.ypodomes.com that discuss the national road Trikala-Larissa, and never a motorway between these cities. Markussep Talk 11:04, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
