Dr. A. K. Mehta[edit]

Dr Arun Kumar Mehta an IAS officer[1] of 1988 batch, served as Chief Secretary[2] of J&K[3] between 31st of May 2021 to November 2023. Earlier, he had served as the Additional Chief SecretaryCite error: The <ref> tag name cannot be a simple integer (see the help page). (Financial Commissioner), Finance department, in J&K Govt. between 1st of March 2019 and May 2021. He previously served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, besides Joint Secretary in Ministry of Urban Development in Government of India[4].

Early life and education Dr Mehta comes from Bihar[5]. He has a B.Tech degree[6] from IIT BHU[7] and M. Tech[8] from IIT Delhi[9]. He did Ph.D from School and Planning and Architecture.
