Amy Pascal ANI closure

Just wanted to mention that I'm not seeing your explanation at [1]. Might there be a formatting issue? Coretheapple (talk) 04:56, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Bachner draft

Thank you for your recent suggestion. I've re-written the Renaming of baseball field paragraph as suggested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:David_Jordan_Bachner#Renaming_of_baseball_field TimHitchings (talk) 13:18, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Thank you sir for approving my article. As you may have guessed I am emotionally invested in creating the article and was not sure if it would be considered notable enough to be published. You and LouiseS1979 were extremely helpful and supportive. I'm now off to publish the good news on facebook to Bachner's parents. Have a safe and Happy New Year.

AFD closures

Hi Arfæst Ealdwrítere,
Not sure if you're aware but when closing AFDs the AFDs are generally supposed to look like this [2], Not like this [3] - As it looks odd on the AFD log and most times now someone comes along to fixes it,
You could put importScript('User:Mr.Z-man/closeAFD.js'); in to your vector.js area which means you'd be using the same tool as everyone else and not having to see me or someone else pop up to fix it :)
I have no issues with you using something else but I just thought I'd make you aware
I wish you a very Happy New Year :) –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 18:22, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. I have put it into the script my common.js subpage. Arfæst! 18:34, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

  • I've reverted your closure of this AfD. It has stirred up a considerable amount of debate, and the verdict is too controversial/tight a call in reality for a non-admin to close it; also, it needs a proper rationale for the closure anyway. And I say this as someone who voted to keep the article. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 01:36, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Request on 06:14:37, 3 January 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Michael W. Parker

I have been advised that my article for Herbert Bertram Strong has been rejected for "lack of notability". With all due respect to the reviewers who have made this decision, I find this outcome to be preposterous. This man is a co-founder of the PGA of America. In addition to that, many of the golf courses he designed have held major golf championships. And, as a player, he finished 9th in the 1913 U.S. Open.

Please re-consider this decision, which I believe is a mistake. I have spent hundreds of hours working on this article. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointing this decision is to me. Why would I ever want to donate another single penny to Wikipedia at this point?

I have no idea whatsoever what to change or add to the article to make it acceptable.

I have replied and explained my rationale at the article draft. Arfæst! 13:50, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Ealdwritere: I have incorporated all of the suggestions you put forth, all good ones I might add, and have re-submitted the Herbert Bertram Strong article. If there is anything else I can do to improve the article please feel free to let me know! Thank you. --Michael W. Parker (talk) 23:56, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Your AFD closure...

Sorry, but in what world is this an appropriate discussion for closure by a non-admin? There are 3 deletion opinions, 5 keep opinions and a keep/merge. Beyond non-SNOW !vote-count, even the keep opinions acknowledge there are no sources but suggest there must be some out there. It hadn't been re-listed even once. In the context, your close was an obvious super-vote, something inappropriate from an admin, let alone a non-admin. I ask that you quickly self-revert. Stlwart111 08:11, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Based on my above comment about a separate NAC, I think it's best you refrain from doing these in the near future Arfæst, because you're doing them inappropriately. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 10:58, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

AfD

Hi. When you NAC an AfD as as a redirect, please remember to include the appropriate 'R from...' template on the redirect page so that it informs the reader and populates the related category. However, in the light of your accuracy issues you should not be doing this kind of work at all, and we would prefer you to concentrate on adding new content or deleting vandalism until you have more experience. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:10, 4 January 2015 (UTC).

Proposed deletion of Trees of Dartmouth College

I moved the information from the Trees of Dartmouth College page to a new section within the main Dartmouth College article. It is fine for the Trees of Dartmouth College page to be deleted; I'm not sure if that will happen automatically on 1/5/15, or if some other action needs to be taken. Msact (talk) 18:00, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

@Msact, the old page has been deleted by an admin. Arfæst! 19:00, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

18:43:07, 5 January 2015 review of submission by UUJ2015

Hi and thanks for your review of my article"Firefighter Fitness". Can you tell me is it more the layout and lack of visuals that make this piece unsuitable. I read that you think it is not a balanced neutral article however I think that there are more than 20 citations and links to external literature and governmental reports establishing the facts for this item. Can i be bold and ask for some specific guidance from you as I do struggle with the computing aspect of doing this type of thing.

Kind regards

UUJ2015

andy Bennett musician

Hello

I am convinced that I have provided sufficient evidence to satisfy the notability guidelines for musicians regarding the page Andy Bennett Musician but feel that I am not getting any constructive feedback from Boleyn could you please take a look at his article for deletion read my argument and leave a comment detailing any further improvements you feel I need to make or if you are satisfied that the page could remain. Removal of your Teahouse host image

Hi Arfæst. Please see the edit summary here, upon my removal of your Teahouse host image. (There are millions of images at the commons you might use instead, which are at least claimed to be either in the public domain or bearing a compatibly free copyright license.) The issue is actually one that is important to understand and for advising new users at the Teahouse (often about drafts, where they are violating copyright by displaying a fair use image). In short, a fair use image may never be used outside of the article mainspace. Use in the mainspace itself is thorny. Each use must be buttressed by a proper fair use rationale, specific to the use the image is being put, and one that meets our strict non-free content criteria.
