Barnstar[edit]

The Working Man's Barnstar
For tirelessly reverting vandalism on Bollywood articles. Yamla 18:06, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After my initial problems with your image uploads, I have seen you work hard reverting vandalism in numerous articles. The Wikipedia is truly lucky to have a dedicated editor such as yourself and I wanted to take the time to thank you. You often pop up in my watchlist and I do not even need to check your edits, I know for sure you are reverting vandalism or making the article better. You have certainly earned this barnstar for all your efforts. Thank you! --Yamla 18:06, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yash Raj Films[edit]

Just to say, thanks so much for your hard work on re-ordering those lists of films in proper chronological order in the Yash Raj Films article. I've done some of that work myself and I know how painstaking it can be to do it right, so bravo. One thing I thought I would mention is that, in English-language reference works, when you put names in alphabetical order, it's generally by last name (family name), even though the first name (Christian name) is usually put first -- so, "Bob Jones" would be above "Albert Smith", and not the way you've ordered the list of directors. I expect I will re-order these myself unless you care to take it on, but I wanted you to know that your work had not gone unnoticed and unapplauded, and that I wasn't just changing your hard work out of spite. By the way, since you have expertise in the area of Bollywood, is there an on-line source of information about how much money a film earned that is reliable and third-party? I see that there is a source associated with the article on Aishwarya Rai that seems useful, boxofficeindia.com, but I thought I would solicit your opinion. Don[edit]

See Kapoor's talk page. --ShahidTalk2me 19:17, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You said: Who're you to keep reverting my edits. The question is: Who are YOU?! If you ask me again I have no problem to tell you that. Bye --ShahidTalk2me 19:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BOLLYWOOD DREAMZ, your messages on my talk page are not so pleasant to me. Please, have a look at Talk:Kareena Kapoor, And discuss it there. Untill we come to a final solution, don't revert the page. BTW, one more revert could bring to your block, as per WP:3RR rule. --ShahidTalk2me 19:27, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

First of all, I reverted my edits, just changed a bit.

Art film directors are often directors who won National Film Awards. In fact, an art film is a naturalistic and realistic film. It deals/based with/on real life situations. The director of Chameli, specifically, is not an art film director. Rituparno Ghosh, if you know, is an art film director, Mani Ratnam is sometimes (That's why I left the sentence after all). If you see the film Fiza/Raincoat (film), you'll see, the film is actually based on real life situations, the screenplay, the dialogues are naturalistic, and that's how the film gets this name Art Film. An art film is known also as Parallel Cinema. Chameli and Dev are great performances by Kareena, but definitely not art films, even if they're more serious.

The difference is clear. A film can receive critical acclaim even if it is a commercial one. Hum Tum was a critically acclaimed film, but it definitely wasn't an art film. Overall, every film can receive critical acclaim and it doesn't necessarily have to be an Art Film. That's all. ShahidTalk2me 19:36, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, an Art Film is a kind of a genre. A critically acclaimed film is a film that received appreciation from critics. --ShahidTalk2me 19:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, --ShahidTalk2me 19:53, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for your kind words!

The problem is that in India it changes every year. Once Kajol was and Kareena and now is Aishwarya, so it causes big problems. The decision according to a wide discussion was to not use it on Bollywood related articles. In Hollywood it's unequivocal and here someone says SRK is and someone says it is Hrithik. So it's the best way to avoid using it. It was the decision and I believe it is a good one although I wasn't part of this discussion.

I also suggest you to expand Kareena's intro. Films like Chameli and Dev were turning points in her career, while Omkara was a big acclaimed project. It has to summarize the whole article, so do it. Just don't use the payment facts please. It will cause to big arguments.

Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 20:27, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no way to add these awards. These awards are not as senior and important as Filmfare and NFA are. You know, when I tried to add the NFA, so many users opposed to have it. But I fought a lot (imagine - for NFA), but adding the IIFA awards is a no sense, and although the screen awards are important and I respect their judgements, I personally disagree. Filmfare and NFA are ceremonies of more than 50 years. Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 21:13, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To be very honest I really don't know now bacause there are so many award cremonies in India and tomorrow someone will add the GIFA awards (LOL). What do you think? The problem is that if we add Screen awards to the Other awards there will be a big problem, what is important and what is not? because there are so many Other Awards in India, and then someone will add the Zee Cine and the IIFA and the section in the infobox will look horrible. So I don't think it is needed. We are using award pages so it's OK. Neither me nor you can decide that this award ceremony is more important than another one. It's a POV. The matter is that in Hollywood there is a very little amount of other awards, so this one who created this thought of this. In India there are too many, that's why our Bollywood related articles have lists more than Hollywood also. So my suggestion is to keep it like this. Take Anjelina (FA), there are no other awards there. --ShahidTalk2me 21:24, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course[edit]

Of course Rahul. I strongly support your version. I'll help you with pleasure. --ShahidTalk2me 21:48, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Our mission is to expand this para:

After making her debut in the 2000 film, Refugee, Kapoor achieved her first commercial success with her second release, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001).

--ShahidTalk2me 21:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WOW, brilliant. Very good!!! Add it in, Rahul:) --ShahidTalk2me 22:46, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Years[edit]

This sentence indicates that Kapoor had no box office success at all including 2000 & 2001 - Not at all. The intro is a little story and there is continuity, and it is said that 2001 was a commercially successful year, so when we have another sentence after that, so it obviously refers to the next years. In fact I don't really care. I'm a bit busy in real life and have no time to discuss it now. Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 08:51, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, this sentence: After a not so successful attempt at achieving box office success in the next years, Kareena began taking on more serious roles is wrong. So what? Does the fact that she took on more serious roles mean that she achieved box office success? Did these films do well? Did she take on serious roles because of her box office failure? And the answer is No. There is no relation between the two, but that's something we'll discuss latter. Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 08:59, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the former is the one which should be added, because it indicates that she was well received as a debutant. As for the Special performance award, I don't think. It is not a major and annual award like the critics one, and I think saying it was a turning point is quite enough, especially when we mentioning that she played a prostitute in the film. Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 19:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RAHUL!!! You wrote a brilliant intro to the Aamir Khan page. Keep it on! Way to go! --ShahidTalk2me 10:28, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Rahul! Thank you very much! Of course I appreciate your work and your really great efforts to help our Bollywood related articles. Best regards, --ShahidTalk2me 20:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It does. You can see a knob button there above - Select a year. There you can click and look for the recipients. I couldn't add it because it opens a new window and there is no URL access. --ShahidTalk2me 19:12, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I don't really know what the precise release date is. Pa7 added it yesterday. But for now I think it's better to stick for the 25th, cause it comes from an article of precise release dates, and the second one, is just another article by someone who could make a little error. Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 06:05, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WOW thanks!!! Thank you so much my dear friend! It really feels great being appreciated! I have no words! Thanks again! --ShahidTalk2me 07:19, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rahul Hi again! Listen, someone wants to delete completely all of our Bollywood award pages. Please vote here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Amitabh Bachchan's awards, honours and recognitions whether you want the award pages to be removed (And I think you don't want) or want to keep them. Best regards, --ShahidTalk2me 12:54, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi, I've been watching your edits for a while now. I must say, your doing a really good job in making sure the Bollywood related articles stay in good shape. So from me thanks for helping us and keep up the good work. We need more editors like you. Best regards -- Pa7 16:57, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Free photos[edit]

Sorry for the late reply - I'm trying to get some permissions for the images you found and listed on Yamla's page, I'll let you know how it goes. (I already wrote to Flickr users bahlsonu and ss70, I think this photo is probably a copyright violation.) Check out an essay I wrote at User:Videmus Omnia/Requesting free content, it may have some tips you can use in the future. Videmus Omnia Talk 21:59, 14 September 2007 (UTC) PLease note Template:Cc-by-3.0-Bollywood-bg is the license now. Do not use Template:Bollywoodblog any more thanks. Just copy the Preity Zinta image page and it'll be correct thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:23, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, FYI - I unfortunately haven't gotten any reply from the Flickr users you mentioned on Yamla's page. :( Videmus Omnia Talk 12:26, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I was only kidding about thanking me because I noticed you had begun uploading but thanks anyway. Its great news isn't it. We now have a database of thousands of images for Indian cinema -well Bollywood anyway and it also covers Indian tv also. some of the images like Preity Zinta etc etc are a blessing and there will be hundreds of specialize dimages available of film premieries etc that can go in the reception section of film articles. Keep up the good work yourself I've noticed your editing - there is now a consistent group of editors including Pa and Shahid and yourself doing wonders for the biographical film pages. Feel free to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers which I founded which covers Indian actors also. We need as many good editors as possible. Allt he best and nice to meet you ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:01, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can absolutely any of them but annoyingly many have the watermark. These can be removed if you Photoart package on your computer to colour it out like what was done with Kareena yesterday but you are free to upload any image on than site providing your use the license like on Preity Zinta and source it. I've designed by own main page for wikipedia. I've programmed into into default. This is now my main page what do you think Wikipedia:Main Page of Blofeld ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have talked to User:Blofeld of SPECTRE and to make his and our uploading easier, Im gonna create a list on his secret note pad. I've noticed that you've uploaded images as well. The list will have all the actors that have or will need image uploads. Im gonna start the list now, so we have a better idea of who needs images. If I miss anyone then feel free to add the name to the list. Once you've uploaded the image then cross out the name on the list. Hope that's OK. Regards. -- Pa7 19:07, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I've also added a list on this page as well Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cinema/Image sorting which should (hopefully) get more people involved. It looks like there are only a couple editors working on the images -- Pa7 19:34, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes i begun uploading a few - please though can you remove the "super super hit etc etc from the ther notes section of the film of Ajay Devgan -this ruins it thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:41, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good work Bollywood guy. Its probably best we complile the list at Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cinema/Image sorting where I have uploaded many images already. I have been in contact with the website again and they are impressed with this page!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:59, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know!!! LOL! But your user name is Bollywood dreamz which is a handful to say so this name is good enough for me!! Do you think I really live in the $1 million Japanese volcano and am bad with a cat?!!!!! Hey I just uploaded Fardeen Khan but check out the Preity Zinta page now . The images look great! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:06, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to replace Kunal Khemu with a free image ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That looks good, hey Feroz Khan looks a bit Blofeld like with his bald head -his son looks nothing like him -but then again I look nothing like my father except in height - he looks like Tom Selleck. Shahid was saying that he wanted to mention Preity was the "only man in Bollywood" because of her ballsy behaviour. I responded this is good, but I said be xtra careful readers don't think she is a tranny of the Dana International assortment!! I bid you adieu. I have to go and anihilate one of my henchman who failed to give my kitty his meal of chicken and duck. LOL ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:25, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remember though to add names any of the images you upload to the lists and cross it off so we all know which have been uploaded. Ok? Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:34, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One last thing pal -note that images are not set at a standard size - e.g on Karisma Kapoor I enlargened the image a bit just add imagesize = ? px . Standard is set at 220px for actors but oftne you need to adjust it etc . Saludos Bollywood ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:41, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent idea. Why is your stomach hurting? - was it you who stole my kitty's meal and the duck wasn't cooked enough giving you food poisoning? Good fortunes anyway give me a bell if you have a query ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. I amazed you can find mostly many clear images which I couldn't find ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks a lot for crossing out the names that got successfully uploaded images on the list I told you about. Makes the job much more easier. Thanks again. -- Pa7 17:12, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much![edit]

It's so nice of you. Thanks for your kind words. My best best best regards :)--ShahidTalk2me 16:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your're welcome.I've done some organization at Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cinema it was a mess. I've created the notepad now and added a section for film article image requests on the actor image page we created before. I also added the nice Indian cinema icon. Now the notepad will need organization and bullet pointing concisely setting up a page for all the things that require attention for all of the articles withing Indian cinema. Are you OK with these changes? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:59, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have discussed with Giro who does a lot of organizational work for WP Films and he like me thinks its time we standardized the cinema groups and took the Indian cinema group as part under our wing and part WP:India. At present it seems like many of the participants are inactive and unfortunately general Indian cinema project organization is suffering as a result despite the great work of its active members on certain articles. Now a move to Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Indian cinema task force would guarantee an increase in organization and would be closely monitored by Giro and msyelf and others who could then bat ome date in collaboration assess all Indian cinema articles and try to ensure even covergage of all. . It would create a stable framework and not alienate the group but would be working with overall film project goals of which Indian cinema is undeniably a part of. It would also be a part of the WP:India group natually. Now I need some support in this -I promise a move will strongly enhance the cinema group organization and it would still function the same. Please let me know if you agree asap thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:28, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don;t much like the name task force either but I really believe it is the best thing to do for project organization. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great news. I've learned how to digitally enhance or crop images. That site has the very latest images which can be cropped easily and modified. It also has a great number of other people other than actors. See Tushar Gandhi and Dil Dosti Etc which I've added to today. Now how many encyclopedia's would have an image of the film premiere in just three days ofter the films release? !! If you have any images you want cropped or whatever please let me know or leave them on the project image page. Basically we can now have any of the photos on that site as we can manipulate them to remove the watermark ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:54, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first refers to the date of the reference -e.g the date it was posted on the sourced site. The other is the date that the source was found and included on the wikipedia article. Is this clear? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:52, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think much of adding the date it was founded either - I guess its to Zippy (Rainbow) up all the geeks who want to know when every miniscule reference was added. As you do much work on actors feel absolutely free to put your name down for Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers Pa7 and Shahid recently joined as like you they do a lot of work on film bio articles. It is always good to know who actively works on such articles anyway Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:58, 3 October 2007 (UTC) I told you I can modify theimages to remove the watermark. Does this image look ok I've cropped it and enchanced the colors: —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blofeld of SPECTRE (talkcontribs) 20:22, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only way to remove the watermark is to match the colour exactly of the background which using standard paints is extremely difficult. I tried keeping the original body photo and coluring in his jacket over the watermark as black but it didn't look right ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

For helping out with the awards. --ShahidTalk2me 17:29, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I see now, there was a tie. Meaning, it was the only year they gave an award for both lux new face and best newcomer. The Filmfare was giving the awards every year for Best newcomer (male) & Lux new face (female). In 1994, they didn't give an award for a male debutant so they gave it to Tabu instead. --ShahidTalk2me 18:00, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh thanks my dear friend!!!:) I'm very happy my work is being appreciated. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 19:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya[edit]

Hey BOLLYWOOD DREAMZ! How you been? Sorry for the really late reply, been feeling a bit sick lately. Im gonna refer to this: Jolie named 'sexiest person ever'. BBC News. February 24, 2007. Accessed April 14, 2007.

The "normal date" (February 24, 2007) is the date the article used was written, published etc. The "accessed date" (April 14, 2007) is the date the user who added the link accessed the article. I think there used in accordance for copyright laws. When Im writing an university assignment I have to do the same thing.

Also, I think you should join this project Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers. User:Blofeld of SPECTRE referred this to me. As the title suggests, its about the actors and filmmakers featured on Wikipedia. You've been working on many actors, so I think it would be good if you joined in. Hope I've helped you with your query. Take care and best regards. -- Pa7 18:01, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
