Hello, I'm Jim1138. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page List of educational institutions in Bangalore because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks. Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Bangalore International College", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 12:24, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bangalore International College

[edit]

I removed your edit from List of educational institutions in Bangalore as you entered the link twice, a practice that would be considered wp:link spam. Also, your edit was quite poor. You forgot to start the line with an asterisk "*". You ran together the name of the college and the url: "...college]]http://..." The resulting appearance was rather silly, as you can see here. If you represent BIC, you really should check your work. Use the "Page preview" button next to the Save page button. Try entering the line like this:

* Bangalore International College<ref>{{cite web |url= http://www.binternationalcollege.com |title= BIC Bangalore International College |accessdate= 26 April 2015}}</ref>

Leave out the "nowiki" stuff which is visible if editing this text. If you do it that way, it would be the only reference that is formatted per Wikipedia Manual of style.

BTW: On BIC's home page What People Says is bad English. Probably should state: What people say...
Also, of note is:
The laboratories are at par with today’s current standards and helps students fully apply themselves. today's current is redundant. Perhaps "today's standards". and helps to which help
The laboratories are on par with today’s standards which help students fully apply themselves. -or-
Laboratories meet or exceed current standards promoting a high quality of education.
I haven't gone through much of the page. Those two items were rather apparent. I suspect there is more bad English. Someone else is not checking their work. Jim1138 (talk) 06:59, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Bangalore International College, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 12:15, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bangalore International College has never meant for free webhosting through wikipedia. As a user it has always referred wikipedia for information. It was just an act of putting an information on wikipedia so that students who really want information about education and courses can get the right information from the encyclopedia. Being a new user Bangalore international college has always accepted the suggestions by wikipedia talk forum. Thanks.
