I hope this reaches you!
Thank you for your comments re: the notability issue for Rohit Jaggi and also, I clearly screwed up inserting the initial references, which would be easy to correct (I hope...).
However, before I do this, could I make a plea to keep this page in Wikipedia on the basis that this journalist has been interviewed in various media worldwide, including the BBC (for example see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6514413.stm) and for example the paper El Mercurio in Chile (http://buscador.emol.com/noticias/Rohit+Jaggi), and he has a presence outside the Financial Times, although you are correct that I cannot find an article written about him - except for a piece in the Guardian newspaper in which his sister, the journalist Maya Jaggi, wrote about aspects of their childhood and mentioned him specifically.
With respect to the family connections, his mother (and father) is mentioned a lot in Madhur Jaffrey's book 'Climbing the Mango Trees', and it is clear Ms Jaffrey is his aunt, hence the 3 Jaffrey children are his first cousins. I also cannot find anything in print linking him to Janaki Bahadur Kremmer or Christopher Kremmer, so I could remove that statement or leave it unsupported. I just included this family detail because I thought it was interesting to see the connections between people - on the surface there's no reason for thinking that Madhur Jaffrey and Christopher Kremmer are connected, for example.

Umdat -ut Tawarikh in five volumes is an important historical document on the life and times of Maharaja Ranjit Singh , his ancestors and successors. Chronicled by Sohan Lal Suri it covers the period of history of Punjab from the foundation of the Sikh Panth by Guru Nanak Dev ji in 1469 to 1849 the year of annexation of the Punjab into the British empire. You may also consider doing a Google search on him. Wikipedia should have an independent separate article on this important personage. Further please do a search on Wikipedia for this name.
I also believe that while your pruning was in good faith, you removed important people and left many complete non notables ...??

I was going only by the standard default assumption that one sorts by the first capitalized part of the surname (i.e. "de Foo" or "van Foo" on F, rather than d or v). If it does need to be sorted under L, however, please note that the L in the defaultsort key has to be capitalized — it won't affect how the name appears, only where it appears in an alphabetical list. The Wiki software treats lowercase letters as a wholly separate "start again after Z" set rather than integrating them into the main list. Bearcat (talk) 05:57, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Armadillo / The Armadillo disambig pages
Hi. The Armadillo is a disambig page with only two items and a link under See also to Armadillo (disambiguation), which latter lists one of those items as well. I'd like to move the second item to "Armadillo (disambiguation)" too and simply redirect "The Armadillo" (and pages linking to it) there, but I'm not certain - if I'm bold and just do it, will it be frowned upon for being too bold? --Thrissel (talk) 19:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Zayanderud
As I've explained in its talk page, Zayanderud (or its other alternative spellings) are the common forms of the name of that river in English texts. If you insist on moving it to Zayandeh River (which is as nonsense as moving Rio Grande to "Grand River"), you should go through the request for move. I wasn't testing anything. I was importing an edit from the Nostalgia Wikipedia, a copy of the Wikipedia database from 20 December 2001. If the diff that you cited showed any changes at all, I'd be very worried. Graham87 01:47, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- I would have liked to just press the import button, but there is an edit from January 2005 in the Nostalgia Wikipedia which I did not want to import. It's only possible to import either all revisions or just the latest one. The import feature was never designed for the work I'm doing at the moment. Because of the unwanted edit from 2005 , I had to import the edits from Nostalgia Wikipedia to MediaWiki talk:Millard Fillmore, move the actual article to catch the imported edit, then move it back again. Unfortunately there's no cleaner way to do it than that. Graham87 02:19, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Greetings. Several of the references you added (and a new one of mine) were recently deleted and fact tags were left on some of the statements you added. In general per Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Public_figures if there is nothing to support his Englicized version, he should be called by his Albanain name. Hi there. Could I ask you to reconsider your decisions on North Waziristan Agency and South Waziristan Agency. Whilst I agree with your reasoning that historically Waziristan has never been referred to with the "Agency" bit, I have to point out that the articles on the official website for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, describes them as North Waziristan Agency and South Waziristan Agency. With entity names I have always erred on the side of official names rather than colloquial ones. For example we have an article at "Federally Administered Tribal Areas" but not at the commonly used term "FATA". Green Giant (talk) 06:13, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

I see that you make two different references to the Kennedy article. It's a two page article apparently and you refer once to one page and then a second time to the second page. This is the first time ever I see this page-per-page referencing. Normal practice (even for larger articles or even books) is top cite the whole work. - Sjeez! I guess that WP is more stringent than the scientific journals that I am used to... Which is what I have been following all along... As for references/footnotes: to me a reference is the source that underlies a statement. A footnote is something like "But note that Jones did not agree with Smith (reference)." Almost all scientific journals call the list of sources at the end of an article "references". I do note, however, thatthe link you provided is a guideline, not a policy. So I won't revert this kind of things in the future any more, but please forgive me for not always adhering to it myself, because I really find this way too tedious, even though I see why others might like it...--Crusio (talk) 09:47, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Follow up to FAC comment
Hi there. I wanted to thank you for the comment at the David A. Johnston FAC - it got me thinking about the general case for such articles, and rather than comment on that at the FAC, I've come to your talk page. We have several articles on those associated with or killed in this eruption or later eruptions: Harry Glicken, Harry Randall Truman, Reid Blackburn and Robert Landsberg (I've only become aware of most of these articles very recently). I'm sure it would be possible to find more articles that were really only written because the subject died (see Category:Deaths in volcanic eruptions and Category:Deaths due to natural disasters). Maybe a systematic approach could be taken to look at how Wikipedia tackles such articles? Carcharoth (talk) 23:00, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Fallingrain
There is a policy though not actually blacklisted as yet as far as I know, see here. Most external links have already been removed by Xenobot, but for some reason it missed quite a few; apparently elevation figures are often wrong and coords can be too as the site is a listing of weather stations rather than towns. I use it regularly as a tool for coords for places like Nigeria but always check against Google maps etc. Regards (Crusoe8181 (talk) 01:48, 7 May 2010 (UTC)).
