Homs/Hims

The more important article is Hims itself; my article title was based off of that. I was following some consensus there from when I did copyediting work on that article, but you may want to talk to User talk:Al Ameer son or User talk:Zozo2kx, as I believe they may be able to give you an explanation. Re: Chihuahuaa

This is purely a personal view but there are a few things I notice: 1) you're right about the old template being lerss easy to read, but it is the standard form used by other states (see Template:Durango and Template:Coahuila; 2) it does allow for more items about the state to be added in, as in the case of Coahuila; 3) the new template needs its redlinks fixed and is very big, but it is more easily read; 4) it looks good as part of the Chihuahua article. What I'd suggest is that the old template should be kept for the individual municipalities, but that the format of the new one should be used within each state article as a section of the article. That would mean converting from a template into a single section, since single-use templates aren't really liked on WP. Finally, whatever happens, it should be discussed with WP:MX first. That's great. One thing though. If you are adding infoboxes to towns please copy the shortened "clean" infobox you now see in Budalin (click edit page to view it). I'm currently starting the villages in Hkamti Township. If you can google book search any title at random and try to find some mention in a British gazetteer with some info to add to any one of the stubs like Allagappa this would be great. I'm gradually working through each township of Burma. I hope eventually most can be expanded if the village is mentioned in google books and maybe in a few years there will be an increasing amount of content available online....♦ Dr. Blofeld

Region

Nothing to do with that. I changed the name back to Division so I could edit the template. The name= field part of the template has to match the name of the nav box name in the header, otherwise you can edit it directly. If you change the name of the template to Template:Sagaing Region then the template name can be Sagaing Region.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:38, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Yepp, point taken, I was just wondering.

As for the list, I would rather not include off-reservation towns. My ideal would be to treat this along the model of country-articles. My main contention before I re-arranged it was that it was a muddle between the geographic/political entity and the ethnicity. I would like to see this one cover the political entity as much as possible.

If you have access to subtownships if you could list them in the township articles this would be great. Eventually I want to have articles on all of them and of course villages organized in subtownships but priority is making the township articles more comprhensive I think.. No I don't think so, Mergui is Myeik. The map I have of Burma shows that the Kyunsu Township neighbors Myeik Township to the south.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:41, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Ah welldone. Actually if you match up the maps you'll see Kyunsu is actually the new name for Kanmaw which is indeed in the Mergui islands but you had the wrong island in your coordinates. Look at the google map now in Kyunsu Township see here.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:05, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Don't you think it will be appropriate to create a page called Apalon (village) for it? I wasn't able to find much info about the place in Burma in Google Scholar. But google news archives retured more articles about Apalon as a company. Updated the page with some more links from media such as Cnet and others.--Billystut (talk) 17:39, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

And we had a little problem. But we solved it. And you know what: My first blocks ever I received for creating stubs for Mexican states, some was under IP and some got deleted. They were really stubby, almost only had the ISO 3166-2 code. Yeah, country subdivisions, I still like it. :-) Interesting to see the Burma improvements. BTW Blofeld just got blocked. Indonesian villages

Are not by any means notable simply because they exist (ontological inherent notability would see literally tens of thousands of pointless stubs) - two examples: -

neither article actually has any inherent notability - please note that this subject will be copied to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Indonesia - thank you Satu Suro 04:22, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

The reason things are brought up at the noticeboard of the project is not to jump to an example in question and ascertain the viability of sources at oggle - but the principle of where the issue of places stops - blofeld and I have had discussions on this in the past and really in the end there are different streams of thought within the wp community as to whether every bloody locality on the planet gets a hit in wikipedia therefore google - I think the looping and the issues are beyond any one locality - and really I have long moved away from getting involved in wp wide policies - just look at the time wasted that usually end up in the bureaucratic nightmares that some eds love so much to see their names at arbcom etc - nah - all I am trying to do is to ask that at the Indonesian project level - we do not name every damned village in the country - to me it smells of common sense Satu Suro 05:17, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Koor, Indonesia is a notable settlement. I only started major villages. And is it so unreasonable to have 10 articles on places in Irian Jaya? I certainly don't think blindly starting every tiny village on the planet is the way to start. We should be working on the more major settlements first and larger villages, injecting some quality and gradually expanding. I'm not sure that Satusaro understands that I do have principals in regards to notability.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:20, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

If it is a notable settlement it is curious as to when they are created why stubs like that remain unworked? There is an issue of starting a stub and then leaving it - the Indonesian project has had in the past the drop a stub into the system and run - by non english speaking editors specially - and they never come back - and also no one ever cleans them up unless something like this occurs - to me 'dropping' potentially expandable stubs without adequate followup is close to nuisance editing in a project the size of Indonesia Satu Suro 12:14, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
