I have a database of all drugs approved by FDA since 1950, which includes the date of first approval and sponsor. This was the foundation for my December 2009 paper "lessons from 60 years of pharmaceutical innovation" published by Nature Reviews Drug Discovery. The data was obtained from FDA under a freedom-of-information request. Most of it can now be obtained from the FDA website at http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/. I have not cited the source yet because I am new to Wikipedia editing, and have not figured out how to put footnotes. Will do that shortly.Bhmunos (talk) 15:07, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's important to provide a citation to a reliable source (the FDA, not your database) for such edits, and also an edit summary, so they don't look like the garden-variety schoolkid vandalisms and test edits we get here all day long.
Your edit to Carbamazepine changed "approved in the U.S. since 1974" to "since March 11, 1968." However, when I look up Carbamazepine at the FDA link you gave above, the result says "Original Approval or Tentative Approval Date August 14, 1986". Am I missing something?

Carbamazepine was approved by FDA with the brand name Tegretol on March 11, 1968. Sandoz was the company sponsoring the drug. The approval that you looked up is for a later generic version of the drug. If you had clicked on Tegretol, which is further down the list, you would have landed on a page that lists 3 different formulations of Tegretol.
